  1. We probably play more 12 personnel with O'Leary on the field with Clay.
  2. I've been waiting for someone to finally say this! Kudos Envisioning EJ (last year 0-2, the Jax game) , and depending on him, is downright frightening for a Bills fan.
  3. Nice to see a positive national story about the Bills. The squad has definatly earned it. I hope they can continue the surge into the playoffs.
  4. I like this thought. I think it makes a lot of sense.
  5. Exactly Yes some turn into runs, not half of course, but the intention was to throw the ball.
  6. That's a great question! I wonder what Trapasso has to say about the minus grade.LOL
  7. I thought so, you probably thought so, and most in the media would argue that. Over at the analytics site 538, they argue that the Bills have established an identity as that of a SLIGHTLY run oriented team.http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-nfls-most-run-heavy-and-pass-happy-teams/ I thought the article was well intentioned with the game script added in. Not sure without actually looking at the strength of schedule, so to speak, of the opponents that they face that they have it all the way. But, I found it interesting, and thought I would share it. I like the notion of the Bills being balanced with their offensive identity. It will be interesting to watch in the coming weeks. I have noticed that Lynn has appeared to be willing to come out early and loosen things up to run later on. Agree?
  8. You're the man! Keep taking one for the team.
  9. Philip Rivers has thrown for 350+ yards 21 x. His record in those games is 9-12. The fantasy people need to realize throwing for alot of yards has never correlated with winning as much as efficient passing.
  10. Thanks that sounds fair. Go Bills
  11. I think some are hung up on yards passing. And, we all know there are QBs who throw for hundreds of yards each week and lose!
  12. Missed the game after the first quarter today, Family stuff. I have a question for those who saw it. Was Tyrod as bad as some are saying? The first 2 drives when they scored and he had the big scramble and hit some big passes made it seem like he was doing great. I don't get it.
  13. Jeez! when are some of you guys going to realize that NO GM hits all the time. You post as if that is the case. The truth is much closer to 50/50. I don't know what it is and you don't either. But it's a hell of alot closer to 50 than 100.
  14. I don't think anyone can deny he was very sharp today, especially early when the game was in doubt. He needs to keep this train going and we will all be happy. Consistency of improvement is the key with him. Loved the win!
  15. ^^^^This sounds about right^^^
  16. Interesting topic! But, I would have to say that the streak would still be intact. The organizational dysfunction(Marrone Era) had already started to show its ugly head.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. Works like novacaine!
  18. Like I said it does nothing more than get you to where everyone else is. Do you think the Patriots are copying the rest of the league? They do what is basic to success. They also have a few patentable ideas.
  19. It is not readily apparent to me that the Bills are using anything other than an old school approach. Roman certainly did not appear to be anything other than a guy who is set in his ways. The coaching staff appears to be behind the curve in general as compared to teams that are trying to be innovative. I'm not a big fan of the copy cat theory. Youre trying to get ahead of the other teams, the copy cat just gets you in the game. The organization needs to try aggressive in establishing an identity that can take them forward. Stop looking to the past for the future. Old schoolers will say nothing ever changes. I think that is pure BS. The game is constantly evolving. Take for example the use of the nickel LB that some teams are employing- Rex no !@#$ing way he'd try that, all he knows is what he knows.
  20. Having it available and it actually being used are 2 distinctly different things.
  21. I never was a fan of REX in NY, as a matter of fact it was more like hated him. Then he got the job and a lot of us thought he's the coach we need to support the team. Not mention he is a motivator, BSer and his personality initially says to people "get on board". We also had new owners and a relatively new GM at the time. Ok its a new ERA maybe. Sooner or later the BS becomes a real problem as we've all seen. People need to see a positive trend and results. That has not occurred. I was initially worried with what I was hearing about the defense last year. I was always taught to believe by my dad, a coach himself, that the best coach's fit the scheme to the players. When I kept hearing that All Pro players were confused and not "buying in" it led me to be suspicious. When I kept hearing we don't have the right guys, he doesn't fit, we need better communication, and the second year will be better. It got me really concerned about the direction. Why? because if it takes you a year to fit in a specific type player to your system it is too long. It shouldn't take that long. It means when you get injuries, retirements, suspensions, free agents, rookies etc. it becomes a big problem under this system. It means to me that this guy is a one-trick pony, and his system needed to evolve, and it hasn't. Everything changes over time, and he is still the same coach, trying to do the same tired routine. I hope I'm totally wrong and he straightens it out. I would gladly come on here in a few months and say I was wrong. But, for now the organization has lost me. I don't believe anymore.
