Dude I like your thinking. I just know there are 2 things you can count on. 1. The way things should be 2. The way things are and will be. I think your play is more 1 than 2 though. Good luck making it happen -

AFC Wildcard game 2: Steelers at Bengals
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't agree with the notion the game is impossible to officiate. The rules have made it impossible to officiate, and are in need of a serious adjustment. Also, the officials, lacking the support of reasonable rules, are just not very good at assessing or having a feel for the game and its situations. For example, I watched a WJC hockey game last week where the Russian captain, in the penalty box, proceeded to break his stick and complain to the refs, after the opposition scored a PP goal to tie the game. Response he was booted from the game. No penalty was given to the team. The game continued, because the refs realized giving an advantage to one team over the other wasn't needed or in the best interest of the game. Let the teams play and decide the game. Don't be the story. Last nights game. Throw out Pacman. Assess the 15 yard penalty on Burfict. Play on. Don't move them into extra point area to decide the game. I know some will argue the rules are the rules. No interpretation necessary. Take a gray situation and apply black and white to it without common sense and you get referees impacting the outcome of enjoyable games beyond what is acceptable. That was really over the top. -
LMAO thats what he was saying. No telling what can happen when the morality crowd gets going.

I thought it was terrific. He is quickly becoming my favorite. Can't disagree with any of his analysis. Hope the Bills follow the same path. -
AFC Wildcard game 2: Steelers at Bengals

Great post. You have it perfectly analyzed! No the penalty on Brown should have been called. It was the need to give one team an advantage by making the stupid PF call at that time in the game. -

You are not alone. Piss poor judgement inserting themselves into the outcome of the game. Should bring an NHL refs group to educate the NFL refs on game situations and how not to insert yourselves into almost every game at the wrong time. -
There needs to be a new NFL rule
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a matter of fact that might be part of the problem. Trying to define everything perfectly and using no judgement creates an impossible situation. They are taking a gray situation and trying to make it black and white. Look at NHL refs they decide to let letter of the law ridiculous calls go at crucial times and let the players decide it. Safety is one issue. But, some far away from the play letter of the law crap can be called all the time. Holding in the NFL is allowed/called all the time because it is gray. I commend the refs and can accept that. The catch rule has become a joke. The Bryant catch last night is an example of judgement being used and rightly so. The second PF call not so much. Letter of the law -yes. Judgement-horrible. -

Yes ^^^^. Just call the penalty consistently, should NOT be a problem. Why have video review and not use it. NCAA does it all the time. -
The problem with most if not all these announcers is they are establishment guys. We need more guys like Jay Bilas out there questioning the NCAA and their BS hypocritical crap.

JMO The Shazier hit should be a penalty, especially if the league is seriously trying to reduce concussions. Refs blew it and if any expert interprets the rules otherwise, then the rules are screwed up. But, we already knew that didn't we? The Burfict hit was a penalty as well, just to be consistent. Brown was destroyed, didn't dive, and it should have been called. My problem with the next PF is the time in the game they made the call. I'm a hockey fan, and the refs in that league are the best in the world. Why? because they understand the game and don't end up being a huge part in deciding the outcome of the game. The NFL refs do that every game. Whether it is the rules or the league itself, or the incompetence of the refs. The notion that the letter of the law is always followed, and know rational judgement is used, is a problem. The Bengals deserved to lose because they fumbled the ball when the game should have been over. JMO -

Pretty happy to see this hire, not too concerned from a Bills standpoint. The chances of this guy becoming the next Don Shula are pretty slim. At any rate there will be a learning curve. His rep is built with much help from Peyton Manning. Not sure why everyone is so excited about his work with Cutler. He had a 92.3 rating good for 16th in the league. So what, the guy has talent and an average QBR rating just speaks to mediocrity. -

I hear people on this board say we shouldn't go all in on TT , and what does this really mean? Does it mean, the team shouldn't support him 100%? Does it mean , the fan base shouldn't support him 100%? Does it mean, we shouldn't give him a new contract? If the latter is the case, he is under contract and if he plays great, we still have franchise tags to use. So, like Whaley said we don't have to do anything. My point is this, yes get a better back up than Manuel. Bring in a developmental project from the draft. However, drafting a QB with the 19 pick is not so smart given we may have the guy and have other needs. Finally, for a QB to fully develop he must be supported 100%. I can't think of any good QB who isn't the center of the franchise. -

I watched Darron Lee from OSU because someone had the Bills taking him in round 1. He is impressive in coverage and as a blitzer, a bit undersized, but holds up against the run. I like him alot. -
