  1. Yep. When I heard that Brandon told Pegula not to let Rex out of the building it smacks of a problem. This guy is the marketing/PR guy and should not have that strong a belief in his ability to advise about such matters. Makes me wonder what else is going on in the building. Marrone complained about the lifers too.
  2. Let me preface this by saying, I'm as big a fan of what Polian did for the Bills and in the NFL as anyone. When I first heard this I got excited. After, reading and digesting, I think it would be a mistake. The comments he made are puzzling. Not in favor of it, and I'm thinking it would mean firing Whaley and Rex, the latter not so negative on. I'm just thinking so much of the problem this year was coaching, injuries and crappy luck on calls at the wrong time. I'm thinking instead of a huge personnel overhaul and a puzzling blueprint from Polian we need to make the RIGHT moves. That means to me keeping Whaley and admitting Rex was a mistake and biting the bullet on the money. Oh and work on the injury problem this offseason IMO
  3. Perhaps he'll improve! There have been plenty of QBs who are in the 6-0/6-1 range and been fine players. I'd be more worried about injuries.
  4. Oh really! Physically incapable.
  5. Nice post! You are exactly right when you say the media would have us preseason as an 11 win team with this type of QB performance. However, we are basically a .500 team and that 3 game difference falls in Rex and the defense. When people B word that TT didn't bring us from behind like Brady or Rodgers they are living in a fantasy world.
  6. Amen! Finally, someone tells it like it is. I'm personally not inclined to believe this is an especially strong QB class. Teams will reach just like the EJ draft. I'd take someone like Doughty later in the draft to develop. He's not ready, but has some good things, including a nice arm.
  7. If Tyrod had been a real QB, then our DEFENSE would have been good.
  8. Perfectly stated. I hate to be cliché, but there are those who would throw the baby out with the bath water. It's not that simple folks, can't blame everything on the QB.
  9. I feel the big mistake was hiring Rex because he was a bad fit. The Jets brought in Casserly and ended up with Bowles. There was talk about Polian being named Czar and that disappeared. I know people think these kinds of guys are over the hill and especially the younger set doesn't want this kind of hire. However, in fairness they both didn't like the fit of Rex in Buffalo and said so. Instead we hear that Russ Brandon, who is a great marketing guy, is telling Pegula to hire him. I wish we had someone around who just said this is his Schtick and he has been trending downward, he is a bad fit, I wouldn't hire him.
  10. Good point! Sounds like the Jets all over. Perhaps this is the only way Rex is gone, if a new GM comes in. Therefore, I say no way Whaley is gone unless he quits.
  11. I have been annoyed at Roman during the year, but it would be a huge mistake to not retain him and have to adjust to a new Offense again. Especially with the development of TT. There has been improvement offensively, and it is dumb to just change that like we did with our defense this year.
  12. Yeah I agree with this. Also, would add that Roman's pass offense takes a bit longer for the patterns to develop than some teams.
  13. We all heard this clown screw up with regard to the Bills before. I question who his sources are in Buffalo. Probably contacted UBBulls fan for his info!
  14. Great points correcting a false narrative about the Bills cap problems. Does anybody really think they haven't thought ahead and didn't expect to have issues to deal with, as do other teams.
  15. Yankees (many), Rangers '94, Syracuse hoops '03-04
  16. Simplify the rules, much of the complication is the NFLs insistence on always promoting the passing game. If they want to help the passing game' change to one foot in like college and simplify the catch rule. Many balls that common sense say are a catch and would have been in the past are now ruled incomplete. I'm not sure about the full-time ref solving much. Unlike other pro sports, football is a once a week thing. I'd like to see proof that making them full-time would improve performance. Adding an 8th official might help like it has in the NHL. And change the positioning as well. I'm biased about NHL refs being the best. But, they come up through the minors and have experience that is beneficial to understanding their impact on the game and game situations. For example, score tied less than a minute to play, they use judgement not to make a marginal call from the other side of the ice. This allows for the game to be decided by the players not the refs, which is ultimately the problem.
  17. Gotta love Tyrod. He has a good head on his shoulders. The Bills are lucky to have found him. Thanks for the article.
  18. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I think it's relatively straight forward. Age, Injury, Guys getting paid, attitudes about the scheme, pressure of getting paid and Rex's system early on. I'm not buying the later as a good excuse though. Coach should be able to adjust to the players.
  20. Do you consider a change in management to be a football Czar ala Polian or like Casserly wJets this year? IMO those types of people would not have gone for REX and would have advised against it. As a matter of fact, both didn't like the fit-they were right so far. And, I'm afraid they may be right long term. It is a tough situation for Pegula. ^^^^^^
  21. Let's see, you have Coach of the year awards, what do you call the reverse of that? The Rex Ryan Award
