  1. If Bar Bill is packed you can always get take out from their counter around back and walk into Aurora Brew Works next door for a craft beer to go with the food. They’re happy to let you do that.
  2. So we’re just sure about the “going to get worse” part? Comforting. You gotta laugh or you’re gonna cry.
  3. Allen show that he’s a franchise QB. It’s going to be very difficult due to circumstances, but You asked......
  4. I’d have been for that route as well. Behind this OL it’s wishful thinking to believe that Allen will make it all season. But we can hope. I just don’t want to see Peterman play again if it doesn’t happen.
  5. Because when Allen gets hurt behind the current OL then Peterman migjt not be the next man up. And they’ll need to sign another QB at that point anyway if it’s just Peterman left.
  6. I don’t think it was meant to be this bad. I think it went off the rails when they unexpectedly lost Wood and Cogs. That hurt and it started a snowball because they didn’t alter their plan. They traded Tyrod and Glenn anyway. They wanted their two most important pieces of their team - franchise QB and stud LB (their Luke Kuechley) - and they stayed the course. As I mentioned the dearth at OL and WR cost them a decent bridge QB which cost them a good FA WR (a deal could have been worked out concurrently with a decent FA QB). They should’ve modified their plan and kept Tyrod and Glenn. I can’t imagine what they were thinking by releasing McCarron and going with Peterman and Allen. That’s just incompetence.
  7. Fais statement, especially after one game. Let’s just see where we are after the season. It’s not a stretch to think we will have a lot of needs. QB may indeed be one, but let’s wait a bit on that discussion.
  8. This. Other than Benjamin who was phoning it in? Some problems create others. We have crappy WRs and a crappy OL so no decent bridge QB wanted to come here. No decent QB equated to no serviceable FA WRs wanting to come here. How can lining up Nathan Peterman behind that OL with Kelvin Benjamin as the #1 WR be acceptable? Then think about the fact that they paid AJ McCarron $4M for his preseason work, but didn’t bother to keep him around this season for an extra $2M despite NP’s 5 INTs in a half in his only start and that their high rookie 1st round draft pick is very raw. AJ might be a tier lower than what we’d hope in a bridge QB, but why not keep him around until you see what NP does in live action? It’s mind boggling.
  9. Some of that dead money this year (and next) was self inflicted by this regime. Here’s to total list: 2018 Name Cap Number Marcell Dareus $13,564,705 Eric Wood $10,391,668 Cordy Glenn $9,600,000 Tyrod Taylor $7,640,000 Corey Coleman $3,548,860 Aaron Williams $2,425,000 AJ McCarron $2,100,000 Reggie Ragland $1,224,134 Richie Incognito $1,150,000 Ronald Darby $395,853 Colton Schmidt $200,000 Cardale Jones $191,696 Jonathan Williams $120,458 TOTAL $53,082,645 2019 Name Cap Number AJ McCarron $2,000,000 TOTAL $2,183,295 https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/buffalo-bills Approximately $17.25M in dead cap is from glenn, McCarron and Coleman. Trading away a guy that we could sure still use in Glenn and $7.65M for two guys that don’t make the team is poor GMing.
  10. Thanks for doing this. I appreciate an informed opinion and was wondering about his performance. Stat lines often don’t tell the story with players at his position and there was no way I was living through watching that game again.
  11. I don’t disagree with the sentiment. Allen is the best option as of the moment. I covered this in other posts, but I have a huge problem with him being rushed into the starting role at this time and with the lack of offensive talent. The Bills brass isn’t doing him any favors.
  12. Sorry. I'm not going to dumb things down.
  13. I'm a "show me" kind of guy. I'm thinking of the Ryan years and how i heard similar things. How ridiculous those votes of confidence seemed at the time as well as in retrospect.
  14. Not a lot of people have trouble understanding the difference between a stated opinion and a stated fact. Thangs especially true when someone is making a prediction - even an obvious one. Why? Because they are infallible? Do you seriously believe that they could not have made a mistake?
  15. Based on preseason games Peterman earned the start today. He was the best of the three QBs in those games. But because of his infamous start against the LAC no one should be surprised by how poorly he played. Allen now has to be rushed into starting because the Bills were too stupid to have a serviceable QB on the roster.
  16. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said Allen is garbage because he went to Wyoming or for any other reason. The offense he quarterbacked last season sucked out loud. Asking Allen to make the jump from one of the worst college offenses in the nation to an NFL offense is way beyond realistic. It's a terrible mistake by Beane and McD to have only Peterman and Allen as the only QBs on the roster. Allen is totally unprepared for what he's being asked to do. He might have a chance to be successful if the offense was otherwise stellar, but there are issues everywhere (except RB). The Bills spent so much capital to get him and now he's not going to get a chance to develop before he's ruined. This is on Beane and McD, not Allen.
  17. You're really reaching because you want to believe in Allen.
  18. No, he’s not. Those two played at major colleges and Allen played at Wyoming. Team offensive rankings for 2017 were: USC - 13th UCLA - 22nd Wyoming - 125th (There were only 129 teams.) I don’t think that Peterman can start another game for the Bills so Allen is the guy moving forward. Also look to see someone like Matt Moore signed on Monday. It's a very bad situation. Allen does have physical talent, but he was so raw coming out of college that he was a longshot to make the transition. He's really the only option now though.
  19. Gotta agree that the Ravens aren’t a scary team this year. How the Bills stack up against such a team will tell us a lot about what the remaining 15 games are going to look like.
  20. The CBA does not force a player to sign the franchise tag contract. Bell is in no way violating any rule, nor is the league or team able to fine him for not showing up or signing.
  21. You’re going to have to be more specific
  22. Thats a completely fair statement.
  23. The difference between keeping or ridding ourselves of Clay before the 2019 season is $4.5M. For that they may as well keep him - unless there is youth that forces him out or he starts to struggle.
  24. He’s 42 years YOUNG.
  25. I’m a fan of moving predictions. You make your initial prediction and then carefully and constantly revise it as new information comes in. As of today the Bills 2018 season looks pretty bleak. OL, QB, WR, pass rush (outside of Hughes) and CB (outside of White) are all big concerns individually, but collectively point to a very poor season ahead. But that’s not definitive. Any of those players or groups of players could surprise or gel. If/when I see that I’ll revise my expectations. Not before. I’m a “show me” guy. I only give credit when it’s earned.
