I do think that most coordinators are looking for the job that gets them the eventual big contract as a HC. But if a guy isn't looking to be a HC - perhaps they have already failed as a HC or just don't aspire to that position for whatever reason - then more money probably is a big deal. Also it's a way for less desirable destinations can compete with better ones. And, yes, it is happening now in some cases.

I'd pop it in sometimes. If it wasn't interesting I'd keep it one, if it wasn't I wouldn't. But I always liked that it was there. I'll miss it being there.

Typically this would be a one year contract with an option. If the option expires without being picked up, then it's simply a one year contract that ended. A comp pick is in play. However, if the contract is worded so that he must be cut or the option automatically kicks in, then that's a different story. He'd need to be cut and the Bills would not get a comp pick. But that'd be very unusual.

Agree and agree. Re-signing Zach is now a big priority, as is re-signing or replacing Gilmore. I still see Ragland as a 2 down LB. With the nickel and dime packages being played so much I don't see him as a good fit except on rushing downs. That probably won't equal longevity.

Gilmore. He didn't do great on an island under Rex (although he did a lot better than most give him credit for), but McDermott is a zone guy. He should be back to form under him.

Just the same excuses. Sammy might very well be every bit the WR OBJ is if the cards fell differently. But so far he hasn't proved it and ODB has. It's sad seeing people contort themselves like a Bulgarian gymnast to get themselves to believe differently. Sammy will be better than OBJ when he proves he is.

Of the 4 QBs, yes. If Josh Allen comes out then it's probably him then Trubisky. In any event, all of these QBs are projects. One or two will probably go top10, but none probably should.

Untrue, except maybe I was a little dramatic. Still, coaches want to win every game for themselves and their players. Every game matters and every one goes on a coach's record. You thinking Rex sees it differently?

I'm not assuming the Pegulas will be great owners - and I never said they would or wouldn't. What I responded to was directly comparing them after two years of ownership to Dan Snyder, which is unbelievably ridiculous.

Could be trying to allay questions from HC candidates about the Taylor benching. I'm sure all of them want assurances that such things wouldn't happen if they were to become HC here. Every win is precious to an NFL HC. Even a loss that helps or protects the organization. Even a loss the last game of a lost season. That L still goes on the coach's record and resume. It's still a loss for the coaches and his players. While I agree that benching Taylor was necessary to protect the team, it's something that needs to be appropriately addressed with candidates.

It's weird that nothing in the article supports the article's title. Am I missing it? "Here's what happened with the Rex firing and here's what's going on with the coaching search" would've been more accurate. Other than the misleading title, it's a good synopsis of what we've already heard.

It's worth a read. Rumors are growing that Allen will come out. If he does, then he could easily be the first QB taken. If you're a Trubisky (or Kizer, or Mahomes, or Watson, etc.) fan, then that's good news because everyone else could get pushed down in the draft. I'm not sold on Allen by any stretch. I see the Wentz comparisons myself, and that's concerning, but it's just such an interesting year for QBs. So many out there, all needing grooming and the right system and development. So much to look at and so much that could go wrong for any or all of them. It'll be cool to see the processes and watch the guy(s) who turn out right and make it. There's a lot to be learned from what's about to transpire.

Or just keep trading away all of your goalies who are any good.
