  1. If someone stated half of Bills fans think the drought is still going he is just trolling. No one I have spoken with claims otherwise.
  2. I was ready to bash you based on title but IF he thinks is important to start day one he needs to show up here and against the Bengals.
  3. I can not remember the specifics but I thought at the time that those two games would cost us division.
  4. Not only did the officials give a first down where clearly it was not warranted, they called a hail mary pass interference where there was more contact from patriots* than Bills. that game coupled with the Jets being given a win a week or so later against seattle I think forced the NFL to bring back replay.
  5. This game is not when I started to hate the patriots*-this is the day I realized that some teams just do not rate effort from officials. I watched at my Brother in Laws house-before I was married to his sister- and I was screaming like never before. Those officials were awful down the stretch and appeared to not even be aware of the rules. The day I hated the patriots* was a complete 180 from the previous week. When I found out that they were cheating in such a huge manner in spygate I hated them. I generally appreciate greatness even against me.( Love Montana, Favre, Marino, Mannings)
  6. I think we all understand that looking this good in preseason and then in regular season are two very different things, but I have been impressed.
  7. I think you can be embarassed and not want it to end but simply stop the immature stunts. I prefer Bills mafia to the Eagle fans of the 700 level or the Jets fan in the nosebleeds by a long shot. Basically a small improvement and I will be happy. Other point is that I started in Buffalo and now am out of Buffalo but I am readily identified as a Bills fan and I get asked often about the tables and other such antics by other sport fans.
  8. The items that have gone viral are embarrassing to me but I know that is the minority but I do not identify as Bills Mafia I am simply a huge Bills fan.
  9. Mack is one of the best defensive players in league(top 5 certainly) which makes the first round pick a good value.
  10. I find the passion about this topic both refreshing and sad that we are fighting over something so minimal: 1) I love the old stadium with many great memories and hope that when they build to new stadium that they try to recreate the bowl areas, great sight lines and a good family feel. 2) I believe the next stadium is downtown and it will end up being a good thing but something that will take time to get use to. 3) I am not sure where the money is going to come from for the luxury boxes but if it is possible to get that money the Bills should get it. 4) Lastly the Pegulas are not stupid and know what the market will bear as far as cost so I highly doubt they will start jacking up ticket prices by huge amounts. I hope the Bills do what is best for all the fans overall and that the tailgating does not disappear but maybe changes where I have to explain that I am not Bills Mafia.
  11. . I am surprised you were so baffled by my post so I asked two football fan coworkers if they understood my point from original post and both stated your interpretation was off base considering the entirety of original post. If I had only posted what you quoted I would possibly agree but I started post by commenting on the individual matters. I will try and be more precise with my language from now on.
  12. I am not sure if you read it quickly and tried to find a point to argue but what I stated: Basically if you start a guy who starts to believe his limited arsenal is enough you will ruin him, and every qb starts with a limited arsenal. I will dumb it down for you. If Josh Allen starts off 11-5 this year and believes that he does not need to improve he will get worse-niot because his skills diminish but defenses learn. RGIII would have done well to sit a year and learn not to run because D coordinators figured it out. The best QBs every off season try to improve-Manning after throwing 51 tds was working that off season to improve. Every QB coming out of college has a limited arsenal and the long term successes will increase their arsenal.
  13. I meant in the past 20 years- not necessarily this year. but I believe you are correct.
  14. In a different direction(trying to make the point that the individual matters) Rich Gannon was on his 4th or 5th team before becoming MVP David Carr started right away and become terrible as his line left him to be destroyed and never recovered. EJ played his "best" early in his first year and steadily got worse.(he almost beat NE week one and I believe Marrone told him" do not lose game" which is crippling to a guy who is learning) Rodgers obviously has become good after sitting 3 or 4 years. I would also argue Josh Freeman as a perfect example Basically if you start a guy who starts to believe his limited arsenal is enough you will ruin him, and every qb starts with a limited arsenal.
  15. Well said and why you have literally a handful of second rounders cut after the 1st year. The potential is too high and even if they fall below expectations you need some patience.
  16. The only one I thought we outclassed in was the Redskin game. the other ones I thought- and still believe- that we had about a 50% chance to win it was simply us not playing well or bad luck. The first cowboys game Kelly went down in and the second Thurman fumbled at the start of secodn half and team crumbled.
  17. I came on here expecting some big update-someone go get astro to write something up!! I did not realize till today that I have likely read each of his updates for years and I really appreciate his hard work.
  18. I have had to work in every NFL city-not related to anything sports- and I did not enjoy Seattle at all. I generally look for sport bars with people that root for the local team and have some clue of events in sports otherwise, Seattle did not have either. Each night I tried someplace new for a month and never found one. When I see someone ripping Jax I am surprised because they have a nice beach and lots of sports bars and friendly people. But I think everyone would love New Orleans.
  19. I think that any list that has Jim Kelly as a Bills traitor is suspect-few guys now represent the Bills as well as he does. Whatever ill will he had built up he has more than rectified. I also do not think Marshawn belongs here since I feel it was simply a fish far out of water with his being here. I would replace them with: Willis Mcgahee- We helped build his career and then he left as quickly as possible and bad mouthed us on the way out. Billy Joe Hobert- He could not even pay enough attention to read the playbook-the Bills had to cut him so the rest of players did not kill him. I have a personal one that makes my list: I was at ESPN club at disney back when we had Travis Henry when he was on Bills. During interview he was asked about his 5 year plan and he stated in 5 years he plans to be on the Dallas Cowboys. I could not beleive he already had a plan to be on another team while on Bills and would publicly acknowledge it.
  20. This whole argument misses the two main points imo: 1) you do not get to protest while at work- I can not protest at my school I teach at-and my impact would be much more powerful than these guys. 2) kneeling during the anthem is protesting the entire country not just the parts they dislike. If you want to improve the police brutality situation then make an effort during days off. This kneeling is not informative or effective. I have to tell my students all the time that if you want things to change you better be able to speak up for your cause and work a hell of lot harder than just kneeling in TV.
  21. This plan is stupid because most of the guys who are making money for the school are not going to graduate. If they do they do not care about the $50K when they graduate they care about the $12 Million. Rosen needs to concentrate on football. I have a colleague whose son played at FSU a few years back as mainly a backup. He received the free education, free food, trips all over country, stipend per game he was active(I think only when active), and when they went to Orange Bowl he got like 12 grand in swag. I had a sweeter life in college then since-working like a slob with us.
  22. I believe there is actual fake news-made up to get a reaction- out there even on mainstream sources, but please stop calling lazy reporting fake. Many reporters are simply trying to put get an article out to meet a deadline and are too lazy to write and fact check. It is an indictment of journalism but does make it fake.
  23. I was watching his show between world cup matches and he was doing math on Lebron vs Tommy and screwed up the math pathetically-basically he said they had equal playoff winning % in careers and it is not even close. His job is to get people worked up during the slow season. I was annoyed for 12 seconds and just turned channel.
  24. I will disagree on the Dareus and Watkins being worst as both had there great moments. I would certainly change out McCargo for Andrew Whitworth and obviously TJ for Russell(though Russell still shocks me how good he is).
