  1. The thing with Allen is that the kind of sack is as important as the number of sacks. Often Allen will try to step through a gap that will close before he makes it all the way through. He therefore gets tackled behind the line of scrimmage (1 to 4 yards) and it is a loss, but not one of those devastating sacks that are 10 yards back.
  2. I did not watch much, so maybe you can tell me. Did Lewan suck? I was mainly watching Steelers Bengals or Phins Pats and would occasionally watch Red Zone. When I did see this game on Red Zone, it seemed like bad things were always happening around Lewan...penalties or getting beat. Wondering what you saw.
  3. Very understandable and deserved. Enjoy the games. I'll appreciate these when they are here and get it when they aren't...and hold off on the wellness check request if I don't see one.
  4. I wasn't sure you were going to continue doing these this year...but I am glad you are. Always a good read. Much appreciated.
  5. Could be he thought he knew the route or could be he said to himself: Josh is running at 13mph around the corner getting ready to sweep us. What is just going to fling a 50 yard pass while running and off his back foot? Uhhhhh yep. OR, he WAS supposed to have safety help but the above is what the safety was thinking.
  6. I commented about Josh's decision making in the "can't make a pre-snap read" thread....which, since the last part of the year, is nonsense. He is great at it. It's what allows those quick throws. He knows where to go with the ball immediately even when the defense changes. I was thinking it, but dared not say it...but then Collinsworth said it last night. Josh looks Brady-like in his decision making...but with the best arm in the game. Woof.
  7. Why aren't we matriculating yet?
  8. I suggest that anyone who thinks Allen still gets regularly fooled pre-snap look at a breakdown of either of the last 2 Patriot games. Belichick is famous for fooling quarterbacks, particularly young ones. In the first game they started out with 2 high safeties (the book on how to slow down the Bills) and Allen ate them alive. So he switched to other defenses and tried about everything and each time Josh would make the adjustment and play it right. I've seen more thorough breakdowns of those games but this one by Chris Simms about week 13 is pretty good.
  9. Yeah. Anna Liffey's closed a while back.
  10. Ahhh, yes. Houston. Where washed up careers go to die.
  11. EEEEeeeeeeeek!!! It's here!!!
  12. So, here's a question since we are in unprecedented territory. When does the official game week thread launch? Is it tonight because we are officially in the week leading up to the game? Or is it Sunday because that is when these things are done?
  13. Yeah, Mancz surprised because of how he was playing and because that leaves us with only one healthy backup interior lineman. That's why I'm guessing they are bringing Mancz back as soon as they're allowed to re-sign him.
  14. Yeah, sorry...meant the short-term IR.
  15. I wonder if there are any veterans, not subject to waivers, who have one of those "wink, wink, we're cutting you but will re-sign you in two days" deals. Mancz would fit the bill, right? Maybe put Stevenson on PUP and sign him....and someone else to PUP for a punter?
  16. But if a DB makes an interception that I could have made, he would have been in the Super Bowl last year.
  17. My impression of the incident. Finishes his route and looks over at McDermott who gives him wink. He immediately grabs his leg and starts sreaming, "AHHHH, My LEG, MY LEGGGGGG....I need to go on IR, coach."
  18. They can cut to 53, then put anyone who is banged up on part-year IR and then add a punter.
  19. Blech!!! (Okay, I don't really care about uniform colors, but I need something.)
  20. Can we have some cuts and some more 53 man roster speculation to go with it? The nice thing about cutting Araiza is we can move on to the regular season...and I'd love to get some other info to give us something else to talk about. Come on, Beane...cut some guys.
  21. This is from a Callifornia legal blog: "One of the common defenses is to make an argument you had a belief the victim was not a minor at the time of sexual intercourse. Maybe you believed they were over 18 but were wrong. A good-faith belief the alleged victim was over 18 is a defense to statutory rape." link So, the issue is "good faith belief." If you pick someone outside of high school as classes let out and you claim, "Well, I didn't know she was 18, you would lose. The example is typically given of a venue that requires entrants to be 18. If you pick someone up there, it is reasonable to believe they are 18, even if they aren't. OR, a college party where you expect participants to be college students and you expect college students to be 18....would seem reasonable. Now, I think the Bills made the right decision and there is a lot troubling about the case. However, to see that under CA law he is automatically guilty if she was under 18 is factually incorrect.
  22. I was just getting ready to post the same thing.
  23. I'm not watching the Bears. They look worse than the Jets.
