  1. A sense of excitement? Not really. The Bills have had a revolving door at QB for most of the last fifteen years. I expect this one to make as much difference as the others. Good luck to Orton, he'll need it.
  2. 1) C 2) C 3) A 4) D 5) B 6) A 7) C 8) B 9) D 10) F 11) D
  3. Therein lies the problem. Even they admit he's a fringe player in the NFL and those types are a dime a dozen.
  4. Only if they think he's better than what they have. He doesn't 'deserve' a chance any more than anyone else does.
  5. Wood is largely correct, although its more than just ESPN. All the attention from all corners for a 7th round pick is absurd. That being said, I don't think Sam made much of an effort to avoid it all, especially this spring. Regardless, I'm sure he'll be on the ESPN payroll within a month if he doesn't get signed to a practice squad somewhere.
  6. I'm not one to 'boo', but I can understand why people would. I doubt many of those fans spent their time and money hoping to see their home team take a 24-0 beating in the first half. If they don't want the fans to boo, perhaps they should consider putting a competitive product on the field.
  7. Nor do I, but then again, they're making it up as they go in DC these days, anyway, so the Patent Office may as well get in on the act, too.
  8. What, you mean you expect the Senate to actually do its job and tackle a real problem? That's too hard. Besides, its an election year, and how better to gain some support for the party than to stir up some good, old fashioned manufactured outrage.
  9. It was Marillion, the singer who accompanied Catelyn to the Eryie after she had Tyrion taken prisoner.
  10. I just want to take a minute to say congrats to the other 40 guys drafted in the 7th round that no one gives a damn about.
  11. To add to your point a little, Kelcy Quarles of South Carolina was 3rd in the SEC with 9.5 sacks this season. He went undrafted as well. The simple fact is that the draft is highly competitive from a player's perspective. There's a reason it was 12 rounds as recently as 1992. There's still plenty of talent in seven rounds and its hardly unheard of for a midround projection to fall out of the draft after a disappointing combine or other misstep along the way.
  12. For the price tag of a late 7th round pick, I'll take this kind of risk any day. If you're going to miss, you may as well miss on a player with some potential. And who knows, maybe they can straighten him out.
  13. Not really. While I thought there was an argument to be made for selecting one late as a contingency plan, it doesn't bother me that they didn't do it.
  14. For that last pick, I hope they pick a TE. If they make another Randell Johnson type pick on pure potential, Blake Annen of Cincinnati would be a good choice.
  15. If he can play NFL football, ok, but I'd be pretty disappointed in this front office if they made that move only as a PR stunt and a nod toward the political correctness crowd.
  16. I wouldn't complain if they picked Andre Williams at RB in R4.
  17. I'd like to see them get a good LDE prospect out of this draft. Hopefully that's where they go with their next pick.
  18. I'm thinking they go LDE here, either Scott Crichton or Kareem Martin would be my choices, in that order. Follow that up with a couple of offensive linemen and a TE in the next three rounds.
  19. I'm going to have to agree with him on that point. Any way you look at it, they have two first round picks invested in Sammy Watkins. That said, I don't think its an awful trade. A little steep, yes, but that's the price you pay if you want to keep the rest of your picks this year. Obviously, we won't know how good it actually was for a couple of years, but as I said last night, regardless of trade value, I'm pretty sure they got the right player. I like it well enough.
  20. Absolutely, but the league would need to penalize the team that selected him several high round draft choices. Otherwise, its not fair for the rest of the league.
  21. Yep. I'd tell him that we drafted him to play football, not to be a politician, and that if he didn't like that, he could hit the road.
  22. BTW, would this be the time to also mention John McCargo?
  23. Its all the same, though. The pick was used in order to draft Losman.
