  1. I think that’s about the right number. $30M still will have you in the bottom 10 I would think. There’s enough to make a few moves. Other teams will have cuts and restructures obviously as well. I think the following year the Bills will have a lot of space.
  2. I think that this accounts for the rising cap. I agree that they will have more but in cutting guys like Knox and Von youre creating holes that you need to fill. The point was, there is NO REASON to hold firm with the hopes of spending in the offseason. You’re 3rd in this week’s power ranking. That means the experts have you as the 3rd best team in football. Why would you not flip picks for players when you have holes?
  3. For those of you asking to hold out because of the dead cap space, 2025 isn’t the year it all shakes free: This is important context in terms of making moves.
  4. The Bills have like the 4th least cap space in the NFL next year. This absolutely is a time to push the chips in. The league is there for the taking and the Bills have lots of day 3 picks. Za’Darius Smith & a 7th was just traded for a 5th & 6th. You should certainly be making moves like that if you can fit guys in. You’re 7-2!! Why punt on a year of Josh’s prime, where you are almost assured of hosting (at least) a playoff game?
  5. He’s been great with the ball in his hands. Your eyes are telling you what your heart wants to believe. I’m fine saying that he’s been even better than Robert Woods with the ball in his hands. That’s high praise. Saying that he’s been better than a fringe HOFer, who was very good after the catch, feels like blind homerism. He has a LONG way to go until we should be saying that he’s better after the catch than Hines Ward. He’s off to a great start but isn’t yet 10% of the way there. Ward is a 3 time all-pro, 2 time Super Bowl champ, and Super Bowl MVP. He was as physical as pretty much any WR that has ever played. Hines Ward is who we all hope Shakir becomes.
  6. I know. What was Ward’s yac? I couldn’t find it. Shakir has been great. I’m just not comfortable saying that he is “way better” at something than a fringe HOFer that excelled at that skill. Just feels like unnecessary hyperbole that sets unrealistic expectations for a blossoming player.
  7. I like this comparison a lot. Woods was a little more of a vertical threat but Shakir is better after the catch. They both have great contact balance and are reliable outlets for the QB. Hines Ward had 1,000 receptions, over 12,000 yards and 85 TDs. He’s a fringe hall of famer. Let’s slow down with our comparisons, especially when we are putting Shakir above that.
  8. Marcel tweeted that (although I no longer see it). I knew that it wasn’t a lot but that’s insane. Thankfully, it was enough today.
  9. Mack was fine today. He’s tough and caught all 5 balls thrown his way. This was, by far, his best game. He’s just so limited physically that he should never play that many snaps (although I get it with injuries). He helped in that victory today. The Bills really need Amari back. That was clear today. They did a nice job scheming without him but have to be able to drive the ball 15 yards down the field. I really love that they are getting so much yac now. With that being said, the pendulum has to swing that far without Amari on the field. When he’s in there it is a nice balance. They survived vs. Miami but 32 of 39 throws of 5 air yards or less isn’t sustainable (even with as good as Josh is).
  10. Yeah, I don’t see it. Gibbs makes their offense different. I could see 2 1sts and Montgomery I suppose.
  11. Let me preface this with, “Mike Tannebaum is a clown and there is a reason that he is no longer a GM.” With that being said, he WAS AN NFL GM. Obviously the below is crazy but those of you that think a 2nd and Elam is realistic, you might be crazier. Here is what he put out there for Garrett: For those of you that don’t want to watch: 3 firsts, a 2nd and Gibbs.
  12. Add Josh plus another 3 firsts and you’re close.
  13. It’s an arms race!! KC sees what anyone paying attention sees. The league is pretty open this year. There don’t appear to be any dominant teams except maybe Detroit. This may be a year to steal a title. The Bills realized this and chased Cooper. Some years you have to overcome multiple great teams. If I’m the Bills I’m still looking to make another move or 2.
  14. Not reading this novel (I’m at work) but saw me mentioned twice. Coleman was playing behind Hollins (who is still a scrub WR). They have moved Coleman around since the Cooper addition and he has been quite good. He looks like a player (as I’ve said numerous times on here over the last few weeks). My opinion on the receiver room is that they are pretty good with a healthy Shakir and Cooper taking attention. The have a couple of guys in Shakir and Coleman that run after the catch. They have Cooper to prevent teams from playing zero as the Ravens did and daring guys to beat them down the field. That addition changed the way teams had to defend the Bills.
  15. The WRs have been quite good since the Cooper addition. Everyone slid into their natural roles. They’ve been able to get Shakir and Coleman in the slot where they are both quite good. The outside threat has opened a ton up for the Bills. Positive progress. If Coleman continues to develop like this the room is fine (assuming they keep Cooper).
  16. Great topic @HappyDays and good list. There are options. Benford has been elite. Cook looks like a star. Shakir looks like Beasley that can run after the catch. The OTs are awesome. Bernard has been hurt but also looks like a star. Rousseau has been quite good (although I don’t know if he will ever be elite). Taron was hurt but is an all-pro. I think Taron Johnson is the next best player on the Bills. I would say that Cook is having the best season. You could make a case for any of the nominated players. Shoutout to Keon Coleman for coming on as well. If he continues on this trajectory he could become a 1,000 yard guy with a bunch of TDs by next season. He looks like a player!
  17. Totally fair point. They had a place called “Shuck Shack” for a few years that was owned by the Fresh Catch people. They used to fly in the seafood fresh every day. It was really good for Buffalo seafood. It had to just be too expensive to operate. It would have to be a destination and elite to warrant that overhead. It’s a bit of chicken and egg. If they are flying it in fresh everyday, they need to have the demand for a pricier, yet better, sushi. I don’t think that you could have a bunch of places that were pretty good. It would have to be one spot that was very good to make it work. I don’t see it happening but wish that it would.
  18. Dinosaur BBQ is pretty good. Southern Junction was a finalist for a James Beard award (first Buffalo Restaurant in 34 years to achieve that along with Bar a Vin). There are levels to this and that’s kind of the sushi point. Buffalo has a couple of Dinosaur BBQ level sushi places but don’t have any Southern Junction level sushi places.
  19. @boyst said, the NFL would never sacrifice the revenue. With that being said, you could run 5 games (Thursday, 3 Sunday and a Monday) and then give all of those teams the previous or next week off. You’d have 22 teams on a bye and the other 10 either before or after. You could always give everyone one other bye.
  20. Well that is certainly the other part of it. It isn’t an either or though. It’s a little bit of both. The one place that I mentioned is actually based out of Ontario. I don’t expect Buffalo to have scores of quality sushi places but it isn’t unrealistic to have a couple that are elite or at least very good. There are a few that are decent but none that would be considered “very good.” Southern Junction is the perfect example (using BBQ instead of sushi). Buffalo isn’t a BBQ destination either. They have some places that are okay and have always had a few. Now they have one that is world class in Southern Junction. It compares to any great BBQ place in America. There are others that are decent but it’s nice to have one that is elite. That’s kind of what I’d like to see on the sushi front.
  21. There are a few places with edible sushi in WNY but I’m yet to find anywhere with good sushi. That makes sense though because you aren’t near the ocean. You don’t get the quality and variety of fresh fish that you would otherwise. There were 2 dozen sushi places in New Orleans better than the best place in Buffalo (and New Orleans isn’t known for their sushi). Kuni’s, Wind and Fuji Grill are all decent.
  22. Shakir is becoming a star. He’s Edelman with contact balance.
  23. Keon is becoming a player!!!!
  24. It’s sad to see but it happens. He was a great player, with a short prime, and his career is ending over injuries. He’s Sam Cowart.
  25. You can always tell how much people pay attention to the rest of the league with threads like this. Anyone advocating for Tre or commenting when someone says “he’s done” aren’t paying attention. We all love Tre. He has been a healthy scratch for a few straight weeks. He is ranked 101 of 105 CBs. He’s cooked. Next time we see him in Bills gear hopefully it’s leading the charge before a game.
