Nebraska’s downfall will be studied for generations
Kirby Jackson replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in College Football
I don’t know. Those teams are back in the top 5 again. The elite of the elite will remain elite in the portal/nil era. Texas will be good for the forseeable future. There will be others that come and go but those programs won’t allow themselves to become Nebraska. -
Nebraska’s downfall will be studied for generations
Kirby Jackson posted a topic in College Football
Nebraska is a historically great program. They have an insane fan base and tons of $. They have the top QB recruit and Mahomes doppelgänger. They have a former NFL HC. It looked like this year, was the year that they started to climb back into respectability. Then they go and lose, at home, to Illinois. I realize that Illinois is ranked but that’s not a game that Nebraska should lose at home. They entered the game as a 7.5 point favorite. Anyone paying attention should have pounded the Illini on the money line. The Huskers haven’t beaten a ranked team in 2,926 days!!! That’s over 8 years!!! -
What time to show up for tailgating on Monday?
Kirby Jackson replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, they do it every weekday night game. This clears the roads and allows emergency personnel to be at the stadium. -
What time to show up for tailgating on Monday?
Kirby Jackson replied to Gman10's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m planning on 2:30ish assuming I don’t have anything pop up for work. 4:00 at the absolute latest. -
I am supporting whatever helps the Bills. There’s never been a time that I couldn’t do it. I really don’t care what other teams do. My only concern is the Bills being in the best possible position.

Why not trade for a dependable kicker?

Who trades dependable kickers? -
I’m not sure that Stefanski or Sirianni would get hired immediately. IMO, perception is that those guys have talented rosters. When you don’t win with talented rosters, people look at the coaching (right or wrong). I think that there will be enough skepticism that they’ll have to take a step back before getting back to HC.

This is a situation that the Bills are about to have to tackle. If these first 2 games are an indication, we will be replacing at least 1 coordinator next year. I think that both guys will get looks and at least 1 (probably Brady) will be gone. Joe Brady is regaining that “boy genius” reputation that he had at LSU. Someone will hire him to work with their young QB (Bears maybe). Teams have so much riding on their young QBs that they can’t afford to miss. Brady, Slowik, Johnson and Kubiak are all younger offensive minds that I think will be HC candidates. Babich is the young, fiery, DC. He comes from the McDermott tree. For years, McDermott has been able to keep the system working regardless of the players. Babich has led different position groups and is now the DC. I could see an underachieving team taking a shot on him (Jacksonville maybe).

Would Adam Thielen be a good option if another WR is needed?
Kirby Jackson replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, he has had a lot of drops. That’s been his reputation. He has had years of 88, 86 and 107 receptions. He’s not perfect but could help this team. -

Kirby Jackson replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve been of the belief that the depth is fine. It’s the top of the depth chart that has a glaring hole. Thielen isn’t bad. He’s another guy that can come in and be reliable. I actually prefer Diontae Johnson if we are pulling from Carolina. He isn’t the number 1 that we need but is closer to that IMO. He’s a UFA after this year and could be dirt cheap to acquire. You may get him for a late round pick swap as the deadline approaches. Maybe he’s just a rental but who cares if that is the price. -
Parking/Tailgating for Monday ???

All correct from my standpoint. I’m on record as saying that I thought that the Bills would win the division. I’m also on record as saying that they have a bottom 3 WR room. Through 2 weeks, I’m more emboldened on both of those than before the year. The Bills are good and the WRs are extremely limited. The things that have been pleasant “surprises” so far are the coaching staff, the OL, the DL, and the CBs. Those aren’t shocking to me, but those are the groups that are a little ahead of where I thought they’d be. I thought, with the exception of coaching, that those 3 areas were strengths of the team. They actually might all be near the best in the league. That’s a credit to the whole organization.

I’ve been a critic of McDermott for the last few years. Today was his best game IMO. That holds for his coordinators as well. That team was so prepared!! The game plan was perfect and executed at an elite level. They deserve their flowers for this masterful effort.

Week 2 - Bills at Fins - Post game thread
Kirby Jackson replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I couldn’t be happier with that performance. They DOMINATED a good opponent on the road. That was the best coached game of McDermott’s tenure IMO. His team was so ready to go. Defense was incredible. The OL was dominant. The running game was really good. Josh made a few throws. Shakir looks like a player. That was a fantastic effort.- 487 replies

What a performance so far!! Incredible game plan and execution. Hope the Bernard injury isn’t too bad but the Bills have that chip back. It’s been missing since 13 seconds. LFG!! -

Alpha's Week 1 recap and film review
Kirby Jackson replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol, I gave them a B. I said they were fine. They were. They weren’t dynamic. This isn’t confirmation bias 😂. It’s reality. Outside of the run after catch that Shakir had, what was special? Coleman made a nice back shoulder catch where he was covered. They played well. When I think of special, I think of the play Tyreek made the other day. He caught a ball and ran away from everyone for an 80 yard TD. Obviously we don’t have anyone of that caliber but that’s what elite looks like. Our group played well, as I said. They just weren’t special. I gave them a B. You gave them a B+ and then called me out 😂😂😂 -

Lol, I literally have the TEs a C because of the attention that Kincaid attracted. It opened things up for everyone else. Neither of us knows how many plays didn’t happen because someone wasn’t open or where they should be. They did what was asked of them. I’ve said that over and over. That doesn’t get you an A or A+ in my book. You get an A or A+ for dominating. I continue to use Gabe at KC as the A+ scale. If this was an A+ for the WRs, what grade does Gabe at KC get? To this point, no one has answered that question. I think that I know why. No one, can say with a straight face, that those 2 performances were equivalent. -
Alpha's Week 1 recap and film review
Kirby Jackson replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol, no. I’m grading the impact that people had on the game. The majority of the offense did their jobs. They were okay and Josh was exceptional. I’m not handing out an “A” to a group that caught 2 balls or a RB group that averaged 3.8 YPC. Yes, I realize those are statistics. Those are statitistics that do not represent dominance. I continue to use Gabe at KC because that represents dominance. Gabe isn’t a great football player but on that day it was an A+ performance. If we are calling this an A+ performance, what was that? A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++? I agree that Allen is unlikely to go under 4,000. The line in Vegas before the game was 3,750. I bet the over. 85.7% completion is much less likely than a few guys between 700-900 yards but it’s a fair point. I do agree on the blocking as well. It was great on Sunday. -

If this is an “A+” what was that? They were fine. They didn’t change the game. How many plays did Josh scramble because someone wasn’t open? How many times did he go to a 2nd or 3rd read? I don’t know. You don’t know. I gave them a “B” and am okay at a “B+.” They played well. That’s not an “A+.” -

Fair…I think it’s especially fair for the backs. I thought Cook made the most of his chances. -

Oh, I see what you did there!! Creative!! Let me ask again, Gabe had 8 catches for 201 yards and 4 TDs, what was the grade if this was an A+? Got you fam: QB: A+ WR: B TE: C OL: A- RB: B- -
