I was hoping that they let it play out. He was on pace to lead, “the most underachieving season in the history of football.”

Yeah, but can you imagine what it would be like if they had some diva like that? They’d want the ball thrown their way. It could blow the whole thing up!! The Bills score lots of points. We need to fix the defense. I’d like to see them use their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks on defense. Also, I’d like to see them allocate most of their FA dollars there as well. It just makes sense…

Well said! You articulated the thought process well. It isn’t that McDermott and Beane have failed. It also is true that they haven’t reached the ceiling and have had many bites at the apple. With Josh Allen, the ceiling is the Super Bowl title. That’s the standard now that they are held to. Many, many, many, many football coaches could win 11+ games and a playoff game or 2 with this group. The floor isn’t much lower than where they have been for 5 or 6 years. The downside risk isn’t there. This is close to the floor with Josh. We aren’t about to be 6-11 because Kevin Stefanski or Klint Kubiak or whomever is wearing a headset.

You never know what you are getting though. Gruden came back. McCarthy came back. Doug Pederson came back. I don’t “need to know.” There is no such thing. You don’t know. Just give me the guy that you think is the right guy. The culture is already established and it is Josh’s team regardless of who is wearing the headset. The most important factor in the next coach/gm, if they go that way, is that they get out of Josh’s way. Where we disagree is on the downside risk. I believe there are 200 coaches currently coaching in college and the NFL that could win 11+ games with the current Bills and their schedule. Sustained excellence is guaranteed with Josh Allen in his prime. The ONLY thing that matters is taking the next step. I don’t NEED it to be Doug Pederson or Mike McCarthy because they did it before.

I just don’t understand that thinking. This is year 8 for Allen. What would be irresponsible would be to try it again in year 9 the same way. I don’t need someone that has succeeded or failed before. Maybe they take someone that’s been around but that is not a requirement for the next HC for me. Just show me someone that hasn’t reached the ceiling 8 times.

I think that this is a tough conversation to have for Bills fans. We just don’t know a lot of what’s out there. We know very little about college football comparatively, so that whole segment of candidates is a blind spot. The coordinators that are always rumored to get HC jobs (Johnson, Glenn, Coen, etc) all got HC jobs. The coordinator most likely to take a HC role next year is our own Joe Brady. People knew Vrabel but he took a job. That basically leaves the fan base deciding if it’s better to bring back McCarthy, Gruden or Belichick in 2025. 🤣🤣 It was the same way when we used to always want Cowher or Shanahan. Those are HORRENDOUS options. 🤣🤣

The NEW Bills Stadium and the NEW Las Vegas
Kirby Jackson replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that they are like $275-$300 a seat now and it isn’t significantly more in the new stadium. I’m at the goal line now and moving over a couple of sections towards the middle in the new stadium. I’m not sure the increase over the current people in that area but it’s not bad from what I remember. The Bills were hyper aware to not price people out in the premium areas because they are harder to replace. We heard about those $50K PSLs but there was only a couple of hundred of them. They sold those to the businesses quickly and then the pricing dropped substantially. I think $25k was the next highest, then $20K, $15K, $10k and $8K in the clubs. Most were in the $10k and $15k bucket. They have seats in the stadium as low as like $750 for the PSL. -
Patricia was such an upgrade. Watching Knowles and Penn St. fail brings a smile to my face.

The NEW Bills Stadium and the NEW Las Vegas

$15K each and you can pay it over 10 years at like 10% or interest free until the stadium opens (which amounted to just about 2.5 years). It’s just about $1K a month (for 2 seats). They said most people have selected that option. We get whacked each month on the PSL as well as the payment on our current seats. By next year at this time, it’ll just be the ticket cost. -
The NEW Bills Stadium and the NEW Las Vegas

Lol, that’s how the world works. That’s why I gave the Lamborghini example. I’d love to have one. I can’t afford it. That’s not Lamborghini’s fault. 🤣🤣 If I want one, I need to find a way to make more money. This is the same thing. I’m not entitled to one because I want one. The Bills are now priced more in line with what people pay in the NFL. For YEARS, Bills tickets were some of the most expensive in the league on the secondary market. People paid it. They are opening a new stadium and will have it filled ahead of when they intended too. CLEARLY they haven’t priced themselves out of the market. I don’t know what “the average family” means. Who “has a right” to own NFL tickets? I’m in a 1 income house, with a small child 7 weeks away. I have club seats at the 20 yard line. If we were in NY or LA or Chicago, etc there is no way in hell that I could afford those. My current section is filled with people that look like me and almost all of them are in the same area in the new stadium. They’ve closed the gap to other teams in the league but are still plenty affordable by NFL standards. -
Who said he was Jefferson or Metcalf? That was Randy Moss (but Moss was better of course). Branch had injury issues. His full season average was 63/807/5. That’s a good 11 year career. His name, and other Patriot receivers names, came up as a response to, “how many elite separation receivers did Brady and Belichick have?” Lol, the entire Patriots WR room was built with quick guys that ran precise routes. They had good NFL careers BECAUSE of their ability to get open. That’s the skill that the Pats valued most in the pass catchers outside of their superstars (Moss and Gronk). Hope this helps clear the confusion…

He was a good receiver. His last year in New England he had 998 yards. The year before that he was the Super Bowl MVP. He was then traded for a 1st & signed a big deal in Seattle. Let’s not pretend he was some scrub. 🤣🤣
-
Edelman? Welker? Deion Branch? Troy Brown? They ALWAYS made sure to surround Brady with high end pass catchers. They also had Gronk and Hernandez. Brady’s top 2 pass catchers are first ballot HOFers. He also had Faulk, Lewis and White as pass catching backs.

I don’t know for sure but think that the Rams title sort of started it. They aggressively added guys and won. Last year was the most active deadline in forever. It’s like anything, someone does something that works and others replicate it. The pendulum has swung towards active trade deadlines. I think that there is probably one other reason and that’s tanking. Stars have basically stopped moving around in FA over the last 5-10 years. Now, you have to draft a star or trade for them. Teams that aren’t going to win it, are better off being 4-13 than 7-10. If you can get a Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, it can change your franchise. You’ll have them forever. It’s not just QBs though. If you get Myles Garrett or Aiden Hutchinson it has a similar impact. That’s why the Parsons trade was so interesting.
-
But you can’t include Deone Walker without including Landon Jackson. You can’t selectively pick the guy that looks really good without excluding the guy that can’t get a jersey on game day. No one is advocating for bad long term decisions. 🤣🤣 Everyone, that disagrees with you, is saying, “in 2025 teams improve in season via trades. The Bills have a very good shot at the 1 seed and homefield advantage. They should make a move(s) with 2025 in mind before worrying about the future. You never know how long that window is open for. 6 weeks ago the Ravens were the Super Bowl favorites. They may be 1-5 in 3 days. Tomorrow isn’t promised.”

This is almost always right. They don’t get more expensive. They may drop to a point and then stagnate there but 5 minutes before kickoff will, 100% not cost more than they do right now. This used to be a secret because people like my aunt were so nervous about missing out, they buy immediately. It’s odd because she might be the cheapest person that I know. Whenever I go away for a Bills game, I buy the day of. Unless you have more than 4 in your group, there’s no reason to buy before the week of the game. There’s PLENTY of inventory in 2025.

Exactly. I’m not saying that AJ Brown is available or gettable. Hypothetically though, if the Bills added him tomorrow, what would their record be the rest of the year? Would they lose a game?
-
Pretty sure Douglas led the NFL in havoc plays the rest of the year after he came to the Bills. The Bills scored 7.4 more PPG and threw for 60 yards more per game with Cooper in the lineup than with him out. Attribute that wherever you want but the offense performed significantly better in the games he played. You have Josh Allen turning 30. There is no more waiting. The league has changed. In season deals weren’t really a thing until the last 3 or 4 years. They happened but not regularly. The line of thinking that you wait until the spring is an antiquated line of thinking. That’s not how it works anymore.

This has been the biggest divide on the board over the last couple of years. There are really 2 schools of thought: 1) The Bills are an elite offense despite not having a true separation receiver. 2) The Bills lack of talent at WR will prevent them from reaching their ultimate goal. Both are perfectly reasonable opinions. The Bills have scored lots of points (supporting group 1). The Bills have fallen short of reaching a Super Bowl and haven’t been able to make the play when it matters most (supporting group 2). Personally, I fall into group 2. You’ve consistently come up short and you have a bottom 5 WR room with the best player in the world at QB. That makes no sense to me. I believe that elite talent there would turbocharge Josh instead of making him cover for lesser players like he tried to do last week. He ran around, bought time and guys couldn’t get free. It ultimately resulted in a loss. I fall into group 2 because, philosophically, I believe that the Bills strategy should be, “give Josh Allen everything that he needs first and worry about everything else after that.” The Bills have approached it as, “Josh is so good, he can cover up for lesser players so we will use our prime assets in terms of picks and FA dollars elsewhere.” Depending on which of those 2 you believe depends on if you fall into group 1 or group 2.

Fair. I feel like his motions and things that he did early in Miami would play well here. Think about that TD to Samuel the other day. That was a brilliant call. That was a TD before the ball was snapped. That kind of creativity we used to see from McDaniel. I like Stefanski the most as OC candidate if he does not land a HC job. I’m assuming Brady is a HC in 2026 somewhere. Also fair. I guess I’m not that concerned with a couple of game management issues. We still aren’t good with the clock and are worst in the league on challenges. I just want that ultra aggressive approach. Kubiak is definitely interesting.
