Despite the fact that we need him....I would rest CJ Spiller to give that ankle a week or two off. He isn't the back we need him to be right now, and we don't need 6 carries for 1.3 yards/ from him. (despite the home run against the Browns) I don't know how Jackson keeps going, but he is effective. Last year he also kept going ,but was not effective. (like Spiller this year) I have had the ankle injuries during my athletic years, and time off and treatment is the answer. Give up the 6 useless carries and get him back to the real CJ who can cut/bob/weave and be the nemisis we want him to be to the opposition. I will sit down and shut up now.

Should the Bills Lock in Thad Lewis?
bigK14094 replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got a few weeks to watch him before needing to think about that. -
5 QB's, not really a problem....just need to get more footballs.

Matt Flynn on flight to Buffalo, (update - now signed)
bigK14094 replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manuel likely worse off than we have heard. Not likely a decision made on signing him until they see him. I believe in tasting my food before I salt it. -
Very disappointed in Hogan
bigK14094 replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hogan does not belong in the NFL, he looks like he is lost out there and cannot execute. Send him along with the punter........bring back Kaufman or whoever. Or promote Streeter........Hogan a dud. -
Okay, is it time to fire the ST Coach?
bigK14094 replied to CSBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, the ST coach was an obscure hire to say the least. Now, every HC deserves to pick his staff. But, somebody should blow in Marrone's ear and tell him about Wade, ronnie and Ralph...and how that situation could cost him his job. (ask Wade) -
The defense and the supposed depth at WR
bigK14094 replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hogan does not look like he belongs out there. TJ Graham did make a couple of catches today, and is willing to stick his head in there after the catch. But, he dropped a real good ball....tv guy really badmouthed him on that one (rightfully so) Missed Stevie....Chandler underutilized...but got a couple of big ones today. Easley looks better than Hogan.....must be a head problem, cause he is better than Hogan physically. -
QB Thad Lewis injury discussion
bigK14094 replied to Breakdance's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Neither Thad, despite his day today. or EJ, despirte his nominal start in 5 games, has convinced me they are NFL starters. I will say this, Thad's throw to Goodwin for the tying TD was the first major league long ball I have seen from the Bills this year. -
The decline of Stevie Johnson ?
bigK14094 replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ummmmm...NO. Haven't seen Woods take it over the middle and take the big hit or get that extra couple of yards. Stevie is a problem for opposing defenses.....his problems this year, other than physical......are that Hackett wants him to run cookie cutter routes....so his runny nose young QB's don't have to think to much. With Fitz, Stevie used to have freedom to take it whereever it would disadvantage the DB....and get really open. Fitz could read and react.....but our QB crew now can't do that....they need formula routes so they know in advance where he will be. So, a conflict between Hackett's style and Stevie's best effectiveness style will mean one will leave at some point. I am voting for Hackett to leave, as Stevie is a legit talent, and we can't say that about Hackett. -
Thad Lewis Is A Better Option Than EJ Manuel Right Now
bigK14094 replied to Bryce Paup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I saw Lewis in the preseason, his arm did not impress me. Of course, Manuel's arm has not yet impressed me either. Maybe not a keeper among those two. -
Legursky starting at LG for Colin Brown?
bigK14094 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was a great prospect with bad hips. He may yet heal after his surgery, but it was to much for this year...he was a walking cripple really. I hope he is OK for normal life . -
This management group does not look functional. The Byrd mess....should have traded him earlier. the Qb mess, absolutely no foresight. Whaley and Marrone do not seem to have the stones for the job. Only one looking competant is Pettine. And, of course, Brandon is also implicated here. I think Littman is the carrier of the bad decision impetitus, however. Brandon will never be in charge until LIttman is gone and replaced by Brandon's own man. Of course, Byrd wanted to make a miracle recovery to play on national TV on Thursday night......selling himself to the other NFL personnel that were watching. Glad Marrone sat him. Personally, I would have activated him, and used him as a gunner on the punt team. Lets see if he can run and hit. But, with all of two days of full speed work, I also was not convinced he was ready to play a new defensive scheme.
-
I agree about Hackett, but I also question the special teams coach....wondered at the time he was hired. One of Marrone's gumba's, I think. Yes, some questionable officiating the year. But, yesterday was not near as bad as the Baltimore game.....I never saw so many bad calls and missed calls. that business on the Baltimore O line was crazy. The guard was moving in advance on every play, and they call it once during the game. I was there, and I saw it. Funny, very visible from the lower bowl, and not visible on the field.

The Bills have Released Punter Shawn Powell
bigK14094 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not surprised here....saw him kick in person at both the Carolina and Baltimore games. He really was inconsistent, and was outkicked by the punters on both of those other teams. Couple of shanks against Baltimore. I think last night was just the final straw. OF course, the coverage teams are at fault on those returns as well.., but he had to kick high to give time to cover, and he was not doing that. Maybe draft a punter again next year...... -
Byrd Full Participant at practice today
bigK14094 replied to dascottbills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, Byrd puts who on the bench....Jim Leonard.....small slow guy who is directing traffic out there because he knows the Defense.......replace with Byrd who has never played a down with this D. Or, do you put A Williams on the bench, who is playing out of his skull right now. Not sure we get an improvement right away.......might be more talented physically if Leonard sits.......but, maybe not as savy. After all, Leonard only has two picks so far, just like Williams. Just sayin...... -
Yeh, I saw Kiko on ESPN today, live. He did warm up to question about the Oregon Ducks, his alma mater and their team this year. Mostly, I think he could do without the media stuff, however. He plays football, and was quick to credit veterans and coaches helping him to get ready to play this year.

@Browns - Thursday Night Football
bigK14094 replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, since EJ missed Stevie at least 3 time Sunday, I don't have much hope for Stevie haveing a great season. This pattern is something to be concerned about....they do not have a connection.......Fitz Stevie was a connection. Chemistry is part of the game....and those two, who are supposed to be together are anything but....I was there, and saw the really bad throws. Two behind, one long.... -
The error in your analysis is that Graham is a wide receiver. He has almost no receiving skills. On a long ball to him against Carolina, which was well thrown, the Carolina db knocked the ball down for a great defend (their only one of the day) But, Graham, the receiver in question never even looked back, and the ball would have hit him in the back of the head had the defensive play not occured. Graham is beyond RAW here. I say, give Easley a shot, he cannot be worse than Graham at this point. (I saw this play right in front of me at the game)

Nigel Bradham where are you???
bigK14094 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am wondering if the Bills are still waiting to find out if Bradham is going to get discipline from the league on the pot thing? why play a guy who might sit out a game or three?
