  1. Yeh...no team 1/2 sacks. He is either sacked or not. Might share a sack for statistical purposes between players, but the team always gets an integral number of sacks.
  2. Chandler is a shell of his former self after the knee surgery. Although he was in camp, they did notu se him much, and he doesn't look like he is really able to perform at least years level. This is his last year with us unless he steps it up big time. (contract up)
  3. At the game Sunday, I noted several large blocks of seats were totally empty. This was not consistent with the advertised "sold out" condition. This was both in the south upper deck (I could not see the north upper deck) and the south red seats (mostly under cover) I estimate that 3-4 thousand seat were empty there. If it was sporatic attendance, there would have been scatter folks in those areas. These areas were really devote of anybody. So, I conclude that the game was not a sell out, and these blocks did not sell at all. So, why the "sold out" status and local TV. I am thinking that the Bills are doing this to promote interest after many loosing seasons.....and in anticipation of accepting 90 Million NYS dollars to redo the stadium. They don't want a flap about a blackout right now. Anyhow, I know when the stadium isn't full (40 year season ticket holder), and the stadium was missing a lot of folks on Sunday. Surprised this hasn't already surfaced on this forum.
  4. Can't judge #3 yet, needs to heal his hand. But, at th3 back end, Meeks and Richardson haven't shown me anything. Cuts later, when Byrd is healthy.
  5. I was there, he is playing better than he ever has......and, he covered Smith.....when Cam overthrew Smith, McKelvin actually showed his speed, outran Smith easily trying to go for the int. He has SPEED, and now, apparently, ball awareness and technique.
  6. Williams needs to work on self control, really bad pf penality gave the ball back to Carolina...still needs to mature. But, he was hitting a load, he IS a safety!!!
  7. If he sits all year, it will be hard to get that sweet deal he wants....he has an incentive to play. If he sits all year, the Bills will cut him loose, and he will get another 1 year NFL contract somewhere, but not the megabuck one he wants.
  8. Pats know how to win, the Bills don't. Pats long stability leaves a core of knowledgeable players knowing the system. We change systems every three years, and nobody knows whats going on this year....no knowledgeable core that knows how to execute EVERY time. Jim Leonard comes in, and is instantly the most knowledgeable d back we have......this is the problem with our lack of stability. So......I don't think the Bills can make it this year......Pats still have it going.
  9. Will be surprised if it doesn't sell out. but, thats why I buy the season tickets. Still, I support their right to exercise the blackout if they can't sell out. TV dampens their ticket demand, and they need to sell the seats....even with the TV big bucks they get.
  10. Comments not mentioned above.....several players looked like they had not played in a month. Chandler looked a step or two slow and not ready to play. Same for CJ....of course, neither had played on a month...so much for resting the regulars. More....Goodwin goes out, so they put TJ Graham out there to receive the kick....which he dribbles onto the field instead of doing the touchback....oh yes, he had not been on the field in a game all preseason. Finally they put Easley out there to receive...that made sense, he had been playing in the preseason and handled some kicks. Marrone did not have these guys ready to play. Others were, these were not. Now, special teams, never like the coaching hire, and lining up in illegal formation to punt is pure coaching. Skeptical that our special teams will be competent. Secondary played better than I expected. Leonard is a great QB and can tackle, just can't cover. Lucky pickup knowing Pettine's system. Offense coaching/play calling way to conservative. EJ showed flashes, but still had some bad Fitz like throws downfield. Conclusion: same old, same old...not buying the marketing argument that its a rebuilding year. Team made an effort, but was not good enough. Same old, same old.
  11. I questioned the selecton of special teams coach. And, today did not change my mind about that. Actually, several "regulars" looked rusty. Chandler in particular was missing a step both physically and mentally, lets see what Gragg can do. Also, 11 out there fielding kickoffs when he hasn't played in three weeks or more. Finally put in Easley to handle the lsat one.....that actually made some sense, since he has been playing in preseason.
  12. Not mentioned here is the average career span of running backs, which is about 5 or 6 years. CJ may hold up with full time duty, or her may not. And, he will hit the downside....by year 8. Good years ahead for him, and I want him to be a Bill, but, the length of the next contract is not another 5 years.
  13. McKelvin could do a pick 6 and a return to the house and turn the game upside down
  14. I am guessing Hopkins might see injured reseve if he is not back in say 4 games. Opens up a roster spot.....
  15. Brooks has some skills, he hits, and has ball skills. But, his speed and cover ability are suspect. Last year against Indy, Ty Hilton left him in the dust, Brooks cannot run with the burners. So, I look for this to be trouble...not saying I have a better answer, just that the Pats will make use of that situation I am afraid. Brooks reminds me of a young Drayton Florence. (who the Bills cut because he was getting burned to often)
  16. Hmmmmm, now I see why there was no deal. If this impacts his year substantially, he will come cheaper next year. Whatley may be on top of this one after all.
  17. But, Duke Williams is the worst safety I have ever seen in Buffalo, need to dump him quick. Don't understand him on the roster.
  18. Practice squad, perhaps. Only 50 worth paying, I guess. Duke Richardson is terrible, worse than the Ko Simpson debacle of a few years ago. Can't believe he made the team....I watched him in detail on Thursday night (was there) and he can't cover, hit, or even find the field......
  19. Can't believe Duke Williams made the team. He was the worst DB on the field Thursday night. But, he must be cheap....all I can figure.
  20. Duke Williams was so bad last night, he just has to go. Lost in space out there, didn;t do a thing. Back to Nevada Duke! I would use that slot to carry an extra reciever, and mute some of the debate being posted here. Hogan is a special teams player, not a huge receiving threat. A second coming of Tasker, almost. Easley has looked good, lets keep the dude. Kaufmann to the Practice squad...he can play too. Byrd injury....more negotiating bs. You get a big contract and come in out of shape.....starting to feel like Jason Peters all over again. Speculation can end tomorrow, and we can move to second guessing. Oh well.
  21. Well, I was at the game, saw the results and the stats. But, I have to say, Leinart has a better arm than anybody on the team right now. Buffalo has not had an arm that can throw the long pass like leinart in a long time. The throw to Goodwin when he got hurt was better than anything a Bills QB has thrown in 5 years, at least. Having said that, I don't know what Marrone will do. I, myself, would keep Leinart. Lewis is cheaper, and it might carry the day....but, he can't roll left effectively....right roll only. And, comparted to Leinart, he has a pop gun arm. Oh well
  22. At least the Bills did get one undrafted free agent that made the team....his name is Tuel.
  23. A lot of what the Pats will see has not been shown in preseason. Tuel will handle it if he has to start. Tuel has nothing to lbe afraid of, nobody thought he would be where he is today. If he is the backup, he will also be ready. Look for Leinart to be #3 against the Pats, unless they decide to go with the guy from Detroit. (he might be cheaper, anyhow) Leinart never made it in the league, hard to figure, he was all world at US C. If he has better attitude now, he might be another Kurt Warner late bloomer. Warner kicked around for quite a few years before becoming the SB QB he was.
