  1. All this Evans talk has nervous. Kid had a meltdown in the A&M bowl game this year........lost his cool big time and was removed from the game...stupid penalities etc etc. He may be the role physically, but the Bills would be buying a potential "problem child" . He did not look to me like he had a pro head on his shoulders. Maybe not as bad as Dez in Dallas, but not a player ready to handle himself like Woods was last year.
  2. A waterfront stadium will be a diaster....the infrastructure to get folks in and out just isn't there. Not enough roads, period. The Sabres have maybe 20K folks, and that crowd ties it up pretty good. Now, think 5 times that many folks. Just isn't going to work, and folks will stay away after one taste of that traffic mess. So, I guess I advocate inland somewhere........if the current stadium can't be make to work. Batavia makes some sense to me....Niagara Falls a lot less, even though I live in Niagara county. Canadian fans coming now could still get to the Falls easy, but not going to attract more fans from Canada, not any easier than Buffalo. Rochester fans are real Bills fans (and others points east) Lets make our bet on them....for a successful regionalization.
  3. The Toronto Metro population clearly is not interested in the NFL....football fans have the CFL, I have engaged in arguments with CFL fans.....not going to turn those folks away from their game (3 downs, really, oh well) Media types in Canada might covet NFL level exposure, but it would be a long long road in my view, and suggest it would be a bad move to try to transplant the NFL to Toronto.
  4. Gragg can't catch when defended. Saw that last year...omho...he is camp fodder, thats all. Undersize etc.
  5. Carrington college ball in Arkansas....maybe the Rams were closer to home..........just sayin.
  6. I think an NFL team in Toronto would help the Bills ....I think of the Leafs/Sabres games and know that it would be good rivalry.
  7. Sorry, based on what I saw last year, the Duke can't play......pencil in the other guy.
  8. If he can play the OL, we want him. Remember Marv Levy's thing was smart players...sounds like this guy has it!
  9. I could understand if the Bills took him....saw those great games as college guy.....I am concerned, though, about whether he has the head to compete and sit sometimes......he is used to being the man.
  10. Since we now know EJ is brittle.....to some extent anyhow, the issue is if Lewis an adequate backup. I guess I think yes, but...if a top talent falls to them...either Borttles or Manzel....I would take one myself. Depth at any position is important. We do not have that at QB. Not sure Manxel has the head to sit though, so probabily would only do Borttles if he is there.
  11. I always thought that also, but he was a class act most of the time, so I really think that would have been out of character.....still, it sure seemed like it was deliberate....I mean, the QB's DONT get hit in practice!
  12. Lets hope Schwartz is good enough to deserve another year after this one upcoming. (not like Crossman, working as Marrones gumba)
  13. Would you transplant cancer into your body? Really.....
  14. Gragg is Dorin Dickerson version 2, not expecting much.
  15. We have Dennis Dixon also, I think. He was killer at Oregon a few years back.
  16. Yes, and I am not sure if either can play. The Duke looked lost in space out there last year.
  17. I saw Evans do a one man self destruct in their bowl game this year, don't want any part of that guy....does not have the maturity or the head to be a pro. didn't anybody else on this board see that game?
  18. So, Hopkins will be gone, one way or the other. Still wondering why the Phins got rid of this guy, he was great in Buffalo. Money likely.
  19. Actually, I think the prior offer is gone....and market price will be lower, I think byrd may have pulled an Andre Reed negotiation....if you recall that fiasco of another decade ago. Now the Williams got his money, less available for Byrd. at least IMHO
  20. I saw Gragg last year, could not catch at all. Reports of good hands are inaccurate. He caught a few at clean up time, but he caught none thrown his way when the DB's were actively covering him. I think we need Chandler and one new one.
  21. Had that...big arm no head....his name was JP.......afraid Mallet is in the same category.
  22. Such a trade may be desireable, but cannot be scripted. When its gets to #9, somebody might make an offer if there is somebody they want.(last year it was Tavon Austin) Before that, all talk is preliminary, and the possiblities to tangled to be sure of. So, will not know if they can trade back until the night of the draft. And, there might not be anybody who wants to trade forward when #9 comes up. For sure, you really cannot shop the #9, there is to much element of the unknown in the situation that far down the prime prospect list. So, you need to be ready to pull the trigger on your own pick at #9 if nobody wants to trade for that position. That means knowing what your team plan is. That is what the Bills staff has to prepare for, they will have to able to do this in real time...not with months to decide. They can mock it up, but they will not know.
  23. I believe the right term is "were offering", not "are offering". Circumstatnces change, Williams signs, other money gets spent......I believe the offer that was on the table is not necessarily there today.
  24. I would say that selection any draft choice that has Parker as a rep may be a mistake. I am not saying don't take the guy....but, all things being equal, draft the guy who isn't reped by Parker. Never a good experience in Buffalo with any of his.
  25. The renewal e-mail came out this morning. (my mail is later, being forwarded) Plan to renew for our group, extra game and price increase can be dealt with. The one hope to keep the Bills in Buffalo is for prices to go up to allow a new owner to sustain the franchaise here. By increasing them some now, that is a step in that direction. a painful one, but, directional the way it has to go. And, for the younger crew posting on here, "the rockpile" is the name for old War Memorial Stadium where the Bills played from 1960 to 1972....it was 73 they went to the Ralph, I think. (actually became the Ralph later, but can't remember the original name)
