  1. OK, time to find out about some other guys. Start Gragg at TE, and see if he can play. Start Goodwin, sit Stevie, and see if he can play and take the pounding with fumbling. Play Graham.......and, those that loose games due to mistakes...need to take a seat and let others try. Then ,the team can know if these guys can play. Same with others in the rookie category. Gettem on the field, see what they can do. Play Duke richardson....sit Byrd....lets see if the Duke can play (I don't think he can) Get rid of those who can't play We are now playing for next year, with four games to go. And, the side benefit is that we will undoubtedly improve out draft position.....in the running for the #1 now, thanks to Jacks and TB winning three. If we loose to them both, we move ahead of them in the draft!!!!Extra side benefit....the bird man will have to point to other years to negotiate his big contract....he did not do anything today. I am thinking about Johnny Football, EJ did not play well today......he takes to many big hits....seems to lack something in avoiding the hit. Johnny never takes the big hit....and has a great arm.
  2. Yes, with Tb and Jacksonville now winning, we can contend for the #1 pick Jonny Football!!!!
  3. He will definitely be in some hot water over this one. I recall there was an incident with a Jets coach a few years back as well, can't dredge up the particulars. Jets fired that guy......
  4. We need another TE for sure. Gragg was not good in his first appearance....caught a few at junk time....but dropped two passes when it would have counted as effort toward a win.......looks like stone hands to me. I want the Bills to draft for value in every round....and although these top guys sound great....even second tier in a late round might be an improvement as the third TE. Now, if another Gronkowski/Graham is available, well, that is #1 talent for sure. (although Gronkowski was a #2)
  5. OMHO..........Byrd will not be signed......and, the reason has nothing to do with Byrd. The real problems is the cap money wasted on Fitzpatrick.......the Bills will be in cap jail for a couple of years because of that. They have others they need to resign....spiller comes to mind, but other good performers are coming up on the market soon enough.....we have upcoming safeties....Williams Searcy and I think that they are not 8 mil per guys......so, I am thinking Byrd is going elsewhere. Bills would like him, and will now pay the price for signing the big bucks for Fitz.
  6. The potential selection of Mack as the Bills #1 is interesting to talk about. First of all, if he is there when they pcik, they will have considered this seriously, he is the real deal. However, other factors come into play. First of all, Jerry Hughes has played very well for the Bills...6 sacks I think so far.....and Jerry is a former Indy #1 pick, and has one year left on his contract. I am thinking if they get a deal done with Jerry, that picking Mack is unlikely. However, if they think Jerry Hughes will be to expensive (yeh), they might pick Mack because he can do many of the same things (or more actually) So, I think that is part of the calculus in the potential Mack selection by the Bills. Many on this board saying the Bills need a pass rushing LB....folks....already got a prettty good one via a trade giving up Shepard. (good trade for Bills for sure)
  7. Most improved? Well, McKelvin actually played pretty well last year...and that was the reason he got the 4yr $20mil contract. And, although he is much improved again this year, this was not a total jump to near elite status. He was a journeyman last year....upped his game this year. Aaron Williams was a diaster last year, and I was ready to give up on him as a CB. The move to safety and the new system have saved his career. He is covering at least adequately at both safety and corner...unbelieveable after last year, and he is hitting and making plays many times. Easy pick for me....most improved is Aaron Williams.
  8. McKelvin is now playing at a top level.....he is an "old pro", and we can look forward to some big plays from him going forward. (like the punt return for a TD a couple of weeks ago that was called back for holding.) Unfortunately, Gilmore is now the underperforming talent. He has not looked good since coming back...and ok , he has a bad wrist. But, he has been burned plenty, and was yesterday , again, against the Jets. Lots of hype from the Bills PR crew about him being a shutdown cb, but I have not seen that from him this year (or last, actually) So, the jury is still out on Gilmore, he seems to be on McKelvin's learning curve...that is it takes a few years for a cb to mature.
  9. Well, I am not going to be surprised either way. He had ZERO prep for the Browns game, so discount that. Still, a rookie playing a good team.....should not expect to much. The most we can hope for is that he does not loose the game, not expect him to win it. Others will have to step up, perhaps the D this week.
  10. Since Tuel got ZERO reps before the Cleveland game, I cannot predict how he might play given the proper preparation for a game. (Marrone admitted that Tuel got no work before Cleveland because "the short week". Well, I think Marrone was "short sighted" not to give his #2 some work in case he had to play)
  11. Lets hear about his injuries before we judge him. If he has a broken rib.....his throws might just be a little off as the body protects itself despite the conscious mind wanting to do it right. Yeh, he needs work, but, I have to tell you, those two 4th quarter throws (Cinci) for TD's were better than anything we have seen from EJ.....so I am thinking resigning him for next year is a pretty good idea.
  12. The one thing I learned from watching the play several times, (for sure, that is) is that Jerry Hughes can really run for a big lb! He got close enough to take a shot at the WR at the 10 yard line.....most lb's couldnt get that close.
  13. And this is different than our current receivers how?
  14. Thad is 1-2 now, and looks like a serviceable backup to EJ. But, he is a free agent at the end of this year, so who knows if that will play out.
  15. In order to be respectable today,a the Bills D has to have a monster day, and generate multiple turnovers. Now, they know how to do that, but can they do it against Brees. Well, the did it to Flacco......its the way to win. I am a big Brees fan, since his days at Purdue......but, can't root for him today as I am hard core Bills.
  16. Wingo may be active, but I don't think we will see much of him unless Jackson or Choice gets hurt.
  17. The Ralph isn't an airline, not sure you will get in at all. Nor, that you should......I would not take a 1 year old to the Ralph in November, weather may be nasty, not to mention the crowd. And, the fans are very much up and down for big plays, it won't be sitting and watching with him on your lap....it will be up and down dozens of times. I would not do it.....our family usually waits until children are about 9-10 before going, and then we do a preseason or warm Sept game. Try Goat island if you are doing a quick stop at the Falls, can see both Canadian and American Falls from one stop.
  18. My personal experience with ankles is that they take time and rest. Taking a week (or two) off is right, Spiller needs all his moves, not just the straight ahead speed. (which he showed against Cleveland) Rest Spiller this week, and maybe, the following week as well. We can use Frank Summers to get 1.1 yards per carry (which is what Spiller got against Miami) Spiller should not have played against Miami. (sort of kidding about Summers)
  19. I remember a game in the Ralph when the Saints with Gus Ferotte at QB beat the Bills in a really nasty weather game. I remember Gus name because his brother played for the Bills (Mitch Ferotte) Can't place the year though, perhaps 80's, anyhow, I was there, frozen and disappointed.
  20. RIP I listened (on the radio!)to Bill Mazer doing the Bisons games in the 50's. The game play would come in over the ticker tape (I am not making this up) and he would do the game like it was live from here in Buffalo. International League was in Havana in those days I recall, and the tape from there was particularily criptic........he used to share that his spotter doing the game in Havana used to send him a one word description of what was going on.....hit, out, error.....Mazor had to make it all up beyond that. But, he had great talk between the "action", and I was just a kid who loved listening about Luke Easter, Poncho Herrerra, Bobby Wine, Jim Gentile, Bobby Del Greco..and all the great names that played in that era.
  21. As a season ticket holder, I hate the night games......disrupts the standard setup of many fans who build their attendance around the 1pm Sunday timing. Lots of folks have to work the next day, and they pass on the event. Also, later in the schedule, its a lot colder and less desirable. I left my Miami tickets in the drawer last year (that was Thursday night if you recall) Traffic is a mess because many attendees were gifted the tickets and don't know how to go to/fro0m the stadium. But, I know, none of this prime time scheduling gives a rat about the fans in attendance....they are truely an afterthought when it comes to TV planning. I will say this, I watched the phins/Bills game on Sunday, and the stands there were VERY empty.....wondering whats going on there.
  22. Despite the fact that we need him....I would rest CJ Spiller to give that ankle a week or two off. He isn't the back we need him to be right now, and we don't need 6 carries for 1.3 yards/ from him. (despite the home run against the Browns) I don't know how Jackson keeps going, but he is effective. Last year he also kept going ,but was not effective. (like Spiller this year) I have had the ankle injuries during my athletic years, and time off and treatment is the answer. Give up the 6 useless carries and get him back to the real CJ who can cut/bob/weave and be the nemisis we want him to be to the opposition. I will sit down and shut up now.
  23. Got a few weeks to watch him before needing to think about that.
  24. 5 QB's, not really a problem....just need to get more footballs.
