  1. We have Dennis Dixon also, I think. He was killer at Oregon a few years back.
  2. Yes, and I am not sure if either can play. The Duke looked lost in space out there last year.
  3. I saw Evans do a one man self destruct in their bowl game this year, don't want any part of that guy....does not have the maturity or the head to be a pro. didn't anybody else on this board see that game?
  4. So, Hopkins will be gone, one way or the other. Still wondering why the Phins got rid of this guy, he was great in Buffalo. Money likely.
  5. Actually, I think the prior offer is gone....and market price will be lower, I think byrd may have pulled an Andre Reed negotiation....if you recall that fiasco of another decade ago. Now the Williams got his money, less available for Byrd. at least IMHO
  6. I saw Gragg last year, could not catch at all. Reports of good hands are inaccurate. He caught a few at clean up time, but he caught none thrown his way when the DB's were actively covering him. I think we need Chandler and one new one.
  7. Had that...big arm no head....his name was JP.......afraid Mallet is in the same category.
  8. Such a trade may be desireable, but cannot be scripted. When its gets to #9, somebody might make an offer if there is somebody they want.(last year it was Tavon Austin) Before that, all talk is preliminary, and the possiblities to tangled to be sure of. So, will not know if they can trade back until the night of the draft. And, there might not be anybody who wants to trade forward when #9 comes up. For sure, you really cannot shop the #9, there is to much element of the unknown in the situation that far down the prime prospect list. So, you need to be ready to pull the trigger on your own pick at #9 if nobody wants to trade for that position. That means knowing what your team plan is. That is what the Bills staff has to prepare for, they will have to able to do this in real time...not with months to decide. They can mock it up, but they will not know.
  9. I believe the right term is "were offering", not "are offering". Circumstatnces change, Williams signs, other money gets spent......I believe the offer that was on the table is not necessarily there today.
  10. I would say that selection any draft choice that has Parker as a rep may be a mistake. I am not saying don't take the guy....but, all things being equal, draft the guy who isn't reped by Parker. Never a good experience in Buffalo with any of his.
  11. The renewal e-mail came out this morning. (my mail is later, being forwarded) Plan to renew for our group, extra game and price increase can be dealt with. The one hope to keep the Bills in Buffalo is for prices to go up to allow a new owner to sustain the franchaise here. By increasing them some now, that is a step in that direction. a painful one, but, directional the way it has to go. And, for the younger crew posting on here, "the rockpile" is the name for old War Memorial Stadium where the Bills played from 1960 to 1972....it was 73 they went to the Ralph, I think. (actually became the Ralph later, but can't remember the original name)
  12. I thought I was the only one who saw that play......thats why I am not upset about letting Byrd walk.
  13. Good move. I never understood why he spent two years at CB, and struggled. He was a safety at Texas, and a good one. Arrogance and poor coaching on the bills part to try him at CB. With much better coaching, he was good/really good at safety this past year, and I wonder what would have happened if he had started his career there. And, he played well as a disaster CB when he had to go back there......I attribute that, also, to his coaching. I think the Bills retained the DB coach, so I am hopefully of continued progress. And, best of all, he is not afraid to hit....so I am looking for big things from him in the next four years. Can't be critical at all at retaining him. And, actually, I prefer him to Byrd.....Byrd is a great playmaker with great reads and reflexes, but much slower than many appreciate....never could go up and play corner. I think Buffalo is a winner on how this all is turning out, and Whaley (and Brandon) got this right. In this case, I like plan B (signing Williams long term) better than plan A (signing Byrd)
  14. IMHO, you have a valid point, even if you made the comment toung in cheek. Parker is an impediment to the business of fielding a winning football team.......and it is at least a consideration to avoid his clients. IMHO
  15. Looks like Jim Leonard again. could do worse, I guess....he had four picks last year, just like byrd.
  16. Despite all the "he's paid his debt stuff", I don't associate with such people...debt paid or not.....would drop season tickets in a heartbeat. thats just me.....
  17. I think the offer was fair......he is a play maker, but one that is slow ....saw Bradham run him down and pass him against TB. That means, for a DB, he is slow. In the right place a lot, but slow.
  18. Ahhhhh .......yes, the Giants were embarassing at time last year. But, the pot should not call the kettle black, as they say.......
  19. I spoke to the Ticket office yesterday asking where the invoice is for our season tics......late this year. The line was.."haven't set the prices yet", so can't do the mailing. BUT, might not have settled the schedule yet either....with the additional game going back into the season ticket package. So, this rumor lives, and just might have substance.
  20. Evans lost his head in the bowl game/couple of hothead plays, and not sure he has a pro's head yet....I would pass based on that. Find a Pro in round #1, not a talented ametuer.
  21. Graham needs to work on his hands, which is an aquired skill. Not out of the question he could do that if he has the will. Also, learning to come back to the ball and other playing skils are also teachable. He has improved for sure, and did make some plays....not enough, but some. that comeback on a bad EJ throw which he turned into a TD was a football play! All hope is not gone, and I would give him another season to develope. The receiver that has to go is Hogan.......should have not made the team as a receiver......he does make the occasional play on special teams, however. So, get another receiver to challenge for #1 or #3 or whatever, as Hogan is never that guy. And, replace Hogan , maybe not even resign him.
  22. Byrd has skills and gets results to a substantial extent. But, he is slow afoot......observed by me being run down from behind by none other than Nigel Bradham. (actually passed him chasing a rb against Tampa) that makes Byrd slow, not a coverage guy for a burner at all. Certainly not in the Aaron Williams category. that makes him a less than perfect safety. A good one for sure, but, remember Jim Leonard also got 4 picks playing that postion this past year. So, not sure Byrds results in that category make him unique.
  23. The lack of disclosure on this matter is the Bills keeping the faith with the NFL players contract. Non football matters are personal, and will not be the subject of a bills announcement/disclosure. He will either be there or he will not be there. Get used to that, as I suspect that is all we are getting terms of info.
  24. There has been a lot of loose talk about other alternatives on the current Bills roster. I afraid I don't buy any of it. Moeki was signed after a number of injuries made him expendible in KC.....just what we need...a brittle TE. Gragg....well, he is a tweener...just like Dorin Dickerson. Not big enough to block for the run in the NFL...and, his receiv\ing skills are also suspect. He droped several when he had a chance this past year when games were in doubt. He did catch a few after the games were out of hand....if they play off, he can catch. Bottom line...Gragg isn't much of a player, except for straight ahead speed. Smith is a capable blocker, and will catch a dozen balls a year for 5 yards each....Bottom line.....short of another solution like a FA or a high draft pick....we need Chandler back at a reasonable price. He is a respectible TE, not a great TE. Lots of bigger holes to fill...starting in the OL, and LB
