  1. Dickerson is the first cut imo. Haven't seen a thing from this guy all season. Wanny's guy from Pittsburg.....letem both go. Receiver fumbles are not on Fitz folks
  2. SJ is a capable receiver, but not a game breaker. HIs speed is less than average, but he is athletic and can catch the ball with inovative moves. Catching 1000 yds three years in a row makes him a pro, but not an all pro. He is still part of the solution for the Bills, and will be a starter whereever they play him. He is not the speed burner that the team needs right now. the thing that bothers me about SJ's Bills career is why he sat on the bench for 3 years....I guess I can understand one, learn the league etc. Of course, TO's arrival kept him on the bench, and maybe he learned a little from TO/ (who also was a pro, mostly in Buffalo) All in all, he has matured, and hopefully will be around for many more years.
  3. I don't think that the December cold weather and out of it syndrome is any worse post new lease signing. But, I am still very incensed about the Bills having four home games in December. (if you count Toronto) I beilieve this is league official underlings dumping on the Bills, Brandon, Mr. Wilson, and the Buffalo fans. They are totally ignoring the marketing aspects of the Buffalo weather/open stadium, and they don't care. I would not have a hard time with a Sep/OCt/Nov/DEc breakdown of 2/2/2/2 in terms of home games, that would be statistically average. Somethng is rotten in the NFL scheduling system vis a via the Bills. And, this problem is not limited to this year, look at other recent schedules. And when, I ask, have we seen four home games in one month of September or October. the Bills nation is being disrespected by the NFL in my view.
  4. Byrd and Levertre are both starters in the league, with certain pluses in their column and a shortcoming or two. The Bills need to resign if possible. But, not outside of their value as judged by the knowledgeable....that is Nix/Whatley and the money guys. the Bills can't control if some other team overspends realtive to those benchmarks, it can happen. Also, the players might have a geographic preference we don't know about. (they would never divulge for numerous reasons) In that scenrio, you loose the player, even if money is the same. Tie does not necessarily go to the Bills, although you hope relationships outweigh those other things. but, some will like the big city lights, others will like the more small town environment that WNY has (think Mario) there are other free agents that also matter, Reinhardt, in particular. Now, in his case, with Urbik already tied up, if Levetre also signs, I think Reinhardt is a starter elsewhere in the league. When he has played, there is little if any dropoff in the O-line performance. And, it does take more than 5 OL guys. We face(d) losing all three of our best guards before Urbik signed. I also think McKelvin is a positive contributor, and have hopes we might retain him. He is better than the bashing he gets on this board, not an all pro CB, but an all pro returner for sure. In terms of the list of guys to loose to save cap space.......some of the names were right to let go...but I am not sure about Barnett, he has been there and done that, and was the Bills best linebacker. He did not make the plays this year he did last year, but, new scheme and all that. But, Kelsey, McGee, Spenser Johnson are all done imo. Also, Thigpen, Dorin Dickerson (anybody figure out why that guy was on the roster) Not hard to find slots on the roster for new fa signees and rookies. This will all play out over several months here. My big hope is that Nix will take a run at Alex Smith, my big fear is that he will succeed, and Smith is no better than Fitz.
  5. I might not outlive the lease, but, 10 more years of the NFL in WNY sounds good to me.
  6. they are just trying to get healthy bodies on the roster. Their judgement must be that McKelvin will not be right by a week from Sunday, so he won't play again. So, IR him, and get a healthy body. Now, Morrison knows the system....so he is a good choice to help out.
  7. I don't think this one will get out of hand. Saw the game in Buffalo, evenly matched loosing teams. Maybe the embarassment of last week will motivate the Bills to regain a little self respec t. And, money and jobs are at stake. they are a little short because of injuries though, wr, oline cb....oh well.
  8. Best inovative business thought I have heard on this board in quite a while. Well, there is USC and UCLA and on and on. Lots of football available in SC, a tough market for the pro's to crack. Two failures so far there. (Rams and Raiders) In buffalo, there was no competition in 1960, as UB was small time, and, although Div 1 now, still is only a mid major player. So, the WNY fan base is oriented to the Bills. Syracuse is a little far to go, and tickets not to available/Carrier Dome is pretty small. However ,the TV thing does level the revenue thing to some degree...but, the prices in a big market might be higher. I just hope the Bills will try somewhat higher prices before they abandone the Buffalo area, we are very low on ticket prices right now.
  9. I think Polian likes the ESPN gig and had called it a career.
  10. Unfortunately, you will get your wish when Ralph passes. In the etc category, will be the Bills organization.
  11. Yeh, even Cordy Glenn got wupped yesterday.
  12. Well, it was a mistake, however it happened, but not a big deal. I actually think that the sneak needs to get run in unexpected situations once in a while to keep the D honest. I saw a QB do that a couple of years ago, and he went for 55 yards. Would have scored but the center (who was out in front of him) was to slow. Ran it because ther was nobody up the middle in the D. Speaking of unexpected plays, that fake punt was a beauty, ehh. (it was in Canada ) Just surprised, then, that idoit Carroll didn't also run an onside kick after one of their scores!(I guess he was taking it easy on the Bills )
  13. Mr Wilson will have his year end review with Nix and Gailey. At that time, they will be told whether they will continue. I remember when Chuck Knox came back from Detroit, and announced he would not be back. Anyhow, that is the alleged SOP. So, first or second week in January will tell the tale. A top five pick would not be bad news. However, I hate to loose to the phins and Jets, especially. So, I will be pulling for our team, however bad they may be. I lived through the 2-14 years that got us OJ, so I guess I can live through this.
  14. Another defensive stinker. Outcoached and outplayed. Lots of folks out there that don't know what they are doing. I can wait a couple more games to find out who is getting fired. Nothing would surprise me. the rookies really looked bad, Graham, Glenn both looked terrible. Gilmore and Brooks got smoked a couple of times also. At least no negative calls on Williams, but maybe he was so far out of position that they could call him out. May be time to finally let the season tickets go.
  15. Fake punt, 30 pts ahead...yikes, our guys are playing "run for the bus" football. Get the game check and get out of Dodge!
  16. Yes, Graham looks like a bust at this point. I counted 4 drops, and I wonder why Easley isn't in there. I remember a number of years back the Bills had a punt returner who dropped three in one game, and they cut him the next week. TJ is a candidate for that treatment, recalling the Pats game faisco as well.
  17. Spiller will get his yards, I am saying another 100plus game. Fitz will have a good game.......but so will Lynch. Close game to call, Bills would win 4 of 10 if they played 10. Still not consistent enough. Of course, a couple of big plays could turn it around. McKelvin could do it, Graham could do it, Spiller could do it. Who Knows, thats why they play the games.
  18. Michael Vick paid his debt to society. OK, I get that. But he is not the person I want the kids in WNY looking at in a Bills uniform. And, I have seen Vick in person in the Ralph as the Atlanta QB.......a scrambler without a great arm...never get you to the SB...and already north of 30. Bottom line....we will never see Vick in a Bills uni.....IMO finally, I am thinking whatever it takes to get Landry Jones....all those starts in the OK uniform.....he can play.
  19. Just recall, Aaron Rodgers was a #1, and sat for 3 years before playing. OK, he was behind Farve...but, still...at least one year of grooming is appriopriate to save on field education mistakes.
  20. I remeber all the happy talk about James Hardy. But, the guy was incredibly slow and couldn't play at all, save the jump ball pass at which he excelled at 6'6 or whatever he was. I am not sure I believe any of the predraft hype. I would go for the speed guy every time.
