Syracuse Basketball 2024-2025
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in Off the Wall
This team can’t win a close game. Had this one. Ironically, G-town going to zone late is what hurt us. -
Defense is built to stop average and below offenses.

This. If there is any blame, it’s on Beane. Need more true difference makers on the d-line, and an impact safety. if Daquon had returned to form and Von was what he was supposed to be, this D would also look a lot different. Oh well. -
Is this worst weekend day of the year for sports?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just the usual. 20 reps of bench pressing 320 pounds. Single max deadlift of 400 pounds. Change the carburetor on my thunderbird. (Or maybe, in actuality, making homemade pizzelles. 😃 ) -
Randy Moss stepping away, health concerns

agreed. For my friend’s wife, that extra year was everything. They went on a national park road trip and she got to see her only daughter get married. -
that is a wild and weird distribution for point differential.

Randy Moss stepping away, health concerns
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Man, this is terrible. my friend’s wife had pancreatic cancer and had the whipple surgery. It Gave her about an extra solid year of being cancer free before it returned and took her life, unfortunately. -
Agree completely. So much of it comes down to seeding and luck. For all these SB winners, I bet they can point to one or two huge plays or lucky breaks that were critical in their runs. anyone who has been in any single-elimination competition has experienced this.
-
Okay, I agree with you. 😁
-
I think that was Schottenheimer. and people forget how they lost that game. The chargers had a game-clinching interception on 4th down. The chargers DB then fumbled the ball after the pick, recovered by the Pats, who went onto score and win. Classic patriots black magic luck.
-
I love Allen, but no one is more clutch than Mahomes. And that’s why they always win in the playoffs.
-
Agree. Both are first ballot HOF’s. Both clutch. One was just a little better than the other.
-
I had the same thought. Our team (esp the defense) plays much better and differently with a lead. Gets the other team to be more 1-dimensional. Give me the ball first and get up 7-0.
-
But he couldn’t beat the GOAT, and that patriots team owned the Steelers in the playoffs. My point is that Allen and the Bills have the same issue with Mahomes And the chiefs. Coaching probably isn’t going to change it. The better bet is the stars align and we have better matchups and can avoid the chiefs in the playoffs.
-
Big Ben never beat the patriots in the playoffs. He’s lucky that other teams did, so he could get to those super bowls. So much of SB success is dependent on things like that— matchups, seeding, and a few plays here or there.

“Odell, I have a Mr. Buddy Nix on Line 1 for you.”
-
How was Puka not wide open on that last goal to go play?
-
They are quadrupling Puka.
-
This is making me think that last week was a total “stars align” perfectly anomaly. Add in there a blocked punt for a TD, and it was just the Rams best game and Bills worst game (at least on D/ST) of the year.
-
plus, TNF games are usually trash.
-
oh, man. Looks like we will have backups at CB 1 and both safety positions. And against the Lions?! Could be pretty bad.
-
if the Steelers beat the eagles, chiefs, bengals, and ravens in the next 4 weeks, then they deserve to be the 2 seed.
