  1. They need to be so 9-7 and everyone else is 8-8. Buffalo tied with miami at 9'7 miami gets the tiebreaker based on common games. They went 0-3 vs 1-1 in non common games. So denver has too lose all 3 left. Pittsburgh or baltimore have to go 8'8, the other wins the division. Houston and tennesee play each other...I think the last game of the season so the loser of that game and indy need to lose another game. Miami win next werk...buffalo is eliminated.
  2. Harbaugh isn't leaving Michigan and college coaching unless he is fired. He went back to college fir a reason...he prefers it ovet pro football.
  3. 1. Win out to finish 10-6. 2. Miami lose another game 3. Denver loses to OAK and NE to get to 6 loses 4. Tennessee lose a game 5. Pittsburgh loses another game. Buffalo would have h2h against PIT Buffali would lose common games to Tennessee but beat Denver based on common games if they lose those games.
  4. deaspin tweeted about it....
  5. Seattle fans have been know as the 12 man for quite a while. Actually Texas A&M trademarked the name so Seattle has to pay n annuala fee to be able to use it.
  6. I have said this in other threads on this.... Going into the season I felt buffalo could win one against NE and the games st Seattle snd Cincinati would be hard then the games against the jets, fins, raiders, steelers, and ravens were going to be competitive snd we may lose some of them. They go 0-3 in the first group and 4-3 in the second group gets them to 10-6. Seeing what we see now Cincinati isn't as good, pittsburgh isn't good on the road. Seattle isn't ad dominant. They also finish 4 out of last 6 at home. If they can get to 5-5 by week 10 they should be in good shape. I think they can be 6-4 or 7-3 after werk 12 would be great. New england has gotten some breaks with arizona not kicking a FG snd now rothlesburger being hurt. Those were two games I thought NE could lose.
  7. Cincinnati seems weaker this year Pittsburgh may be strong at home, but the game Is in buffalo. They should sweep miami, beat sf, jets, browns, and Jags..6 wins here. That put them at 9-2. Then you have NE, at sea, at oak, PIT,cin. Win 1 of those 5 they are 20 wins and a good shot at WC, win 2 and at 11 wins, a WC spot is a near certainty.
  8. Went for fg because they felt 5he defense was strong snd get a 3 and out. Try to win rather than tie. On the fake punt they also figure defense was strong and 3 and out and a FG making it a 7 pt game and they get the ball with time on the clock to march down.
  9. I haven't read over all the replies... First off Polian came to buffalo in 84 then gm in 86. He was involved in buffalo drafting Bruce. Buffalo had some talent in their system given the 80 and 81 seasons. They drafted well and got talent in 4th round or later. You also have to remember the system was different in free agency with plan B players buffalo signed that were successful. Also remember kelly was not a top 5 pick. To claim he would be food was a crap shoot at best. They didn't get taken in the bennett/Richardson trade. They got a high 1st round player for a price very comparable to today in acquiring a top 3 pick. He also did well in carolina and indy.
  10. What I can remember..... starting from when the bills were worse (when the sucked and drafted bruce).... late 80s you had Levy come in and Buffalo had good draft picks and got kelly to come so 1986-1987 fans were excited because the team was fu to watch and you knew there was talent on the team. 1988-1995 --Kelly years and playoffs. There was always a bad game the tam played that brought the negative nannies out of the wood work and then you had the Riech vs Kelly controversey late 1990s the team was still competitive and returned to the playoffs with Flutie. The problem was still finding that young replacement for Kelly. since the playoff droght the team has had some talent but couldnt seem to get everything organized on both sides f the ball. some years the offense was good but the defense sucked, other years it was stong defense but ****ty offense (more often) If Chan Gailey had not ^&*(ed with defense and brought in a good d coordinator who kept the 4-3 in place they could have been alot better. Similarly last year if the team didnt change the defense that was playing.
  11. JUst that first play...... high safety to the right side and your two WRs to the left n single coverage...what ever route they wre planning on running or didnt ---that is your first look on the play. you hold to the right for a moment to hold the deep safety then come bak and throw to either A or B....
  12. I agree...he hasn't lost his tire tread yet. I would get him in a heartbeat. Since it's after the season started their isn't any guaranteed season money. That was the primary reason they cut felton then resigned him.
  13. Looking at the schedule I say... Likely losses...seattle, a game with new england, and cincinati Close games that can be won...baltimore, pittsburgh, arizona, oakland I still think they can go 10-6. 4-2 division, 3-1 against nfc, 3-3 against afc
  14. Last year baltimoRe had a ton of I juries and a poor start. They starTed 1-6 and 4'8 with all the games one score games with many of them coming down to the last few minutes of the game. They easily could have gone 8-4 instead of 4-8 and been in the wildcard hunt last year.
  15. the defense worked fine the 2 years before ex----what you learn from that ----DONT !@#$ with it
  16. Wilson wanted to keep his current division teams. Buffalo already had Pittsburgh and Cleveland rivalry. Buffalo vs Pittsburgh is probably the most heated rivalry for non-division and non within state rivalries in the league.
  17. He seemed to do well with the zBills personnel and has worked under Ryan so....why not??? Something needs to be done.
  18. Harvin if healthy brings the speed and being a deep threat. Buffalo also has Clay as A TE Their RBs can catch the ball. Woods isn't an issue.
  19. If Rex was fired, I'd keep roman as OC, then bring in Schwartz as HC, and Pettine as DC (he is likely fired from Browns). What I don't want yo do is bring in someone who wants to FI a gut and rebuild. The coach and DC have got yo be 4-3 guys.
  20. A few reasons..... 1. Senior management under Wilson. Made it where coaches didn't want yo cone here. pegs us changing that. 2. The team hasn't been awful...but more midfle of the pack where since the last layoffs they have been in that 7-6/6-7 for many of those seasons. You could go through and find 3-4 games they easily could have won with a pkay here or there. Of their 7 losses, 6 were by a score late in the 4th. 3. People forget Taylor is in ways just like a rookie with him getting his first real snaps this season. 4. The frustration thing is the new coaches !@#$ with what is working. When Gailey came on, he changed the defense that was damn good. Rex screwed with the defense too.
  21. I thought Rex hire would have meant the D would have been the same as it was. For whatever reason the defense just isnt the same when it comes to QB sacks and turnovers. The defense has had its moments and played well---the talent is there. 6 of their 7 loses can be drilled down to 2-3 plays in the game that made the difference. injuries has been a big factor with this team this season.
  22. Mike Pettine likely gets fired in cleveland--bring him in a D-coordinator. His defense was fine working with the same players.
  23. Buffalo can still make the playoffs.... win out and.... 1. Oakland lose a game either today or last 3 and 2 of the 3: 1. Jets lose 1 game in the next 2 2. Chiefs lose their last 3 3. Steelers lose 2 of their last 3 By losing today Buffalo would have the conference record tiebreaker on Pittsburgh. (DEN, at BAL, at CLE) Chiefs would have them by head to head or conference so they have to have a better record (at BAL, CLE, OAK) Buffalo needs the Jets to lose one and beat them in week 17 and then they would be ahead of them. ( at DAL, NE, at BUF) Oakland would have a better conference record.(at DEN, GB, SD, at KC)
  24. With them flexing Arizona at Philadelphia ...it's saying buffalo we don't think you are going to win at Philadelphia.
  25. Teams general don't have their top WR on PR duties unless it's make or break time. I can't recall who the WRs ( there have been a few)was who would come out for PRs late in a game when behind.
