  1. I love the guy, but you get what you get with Josh. I still wouldn’t trade him for any AB in the NFL, and not by a long shot.
  2. It’s one game for god almighty. Josh chooses some of these plays. There’s only so much the coaches can hold him back. Be grateful we have him, but then again, you have almost no posts so we’ll see how you post in the future. Hopefully it’s not a flurry of doom and gloom.
  3. does that give you you’re answer my friend Turk. I can tell you more times than not on Movin the Chains the callers seem a little more well informed on their teams.
  4. Thanks for the catch. Must be a little sleep in the eye posting at 5 am. I’m so anxious in a positive way, I could barely sleep last night.
  5. You know the facetious “die” was just quoting the obvious from the Gladiator movie. I wish no harm on any football player so before the politically correct police get on me, I mean no harm to the Cardinals other than bruised pride for a terrible loss.
  6. This is more my speed. For those Cardinals about to die we sauté you!
  7. Our line was not a problem last year so happy for Brown. The offense always starts with the line.
  8. This isn’t any great secret. Lamar is a marginally above avg passer and an excellent rusher. Hes certainly better than avg and in totality a top 10 QB, but he’s not in the same universe as Mahomes, Allen, and when healthy Burrow. When Baltimore played the Chiefs in the playoffs, they went away from the run and force fed the passing game and it flopped miserably. I have nothing against Lamar, but the media goes out of the way to prop him up.
  9. Ok, that was pretty funny Dingus. That was a nice way to wake up, have you’re coffee and watch this clip and not too long.
  10. Im with you, but it’s just nfl D Backs can jump that route in their sleep. These guys are 4.4 to 4.3 and change on a dime. High school kids get caught which is a great high school move, but it’s only a high school move. Do you think McD wouldn’t do it if it would work. I applaud the HS coach for his move. I coached 12-14 olds in football, but that’s different from the nfl.
  11. I’m hopeful if he makes even close to the leap Bernard made, we’re set for awhile. That doesn’t mean I’m down on Milano as you can’t predict a bicep tear or broken leg, but he was the most important defensive player on our team. im a little concerned on our Edge guys as Daquan and Oliver are solid, and if Dorian works out our back 7 should be solid. We need to see what the Edge guys can do.
  12. An NFL calibur top defensive back would read that in a heartbeat and jump the lobbed ball. I know you mean well OP, but these guys are the best for a reason. They are some of the fastest guys on the planet and know how to play it. It may work in some small high school, but not an NFL team. Id love our opponent to do this to us so Rapp or more likely Taron will jump it, and it s a pic six. Ill agree it’s fun to see in HS football.
  13. Im close to you Turk as I can see 31-17. The Cards have a solid run game, but haven’t been the best passers and Murray is a losing QB. I know they have MH Jr., but that doesn’t mean he’ll have a pro bowl game in his first NFL game, and our secondary has confused a number of QB’s. The Cards defense is suspect
  14. Sharky, we decided to take the big hit now from a number of aging players and the gamble on youth. We’ll see if this experiment works. The upside is we will have a lot of space next year and the cap continues to increase exponentially year over year.
  15. Bobo, I know the NFL is evolving and if anything seeking out new revenue streams, but it’s hard on guys like my 94 yr. Old father who wouldn’t know how to stream at all. For me, I like some shows on NBC so I’ve had Peacock and Amazon Prime for a long time as they have some shows like Reacher and Jack Ryan.
  16. To the OP these stats are misleading and several people dissected the SOS etc. The other part is the injuries creeping up later in the year and yet the record was better. The variability of this year’s team given the roster changes makes it very difficult to predict what are the outcomes this year. I have hope like I always do in September, and it’s plausible we will better than predicted by many of the talking heads. I personally would guess anywhere from 10-12 wins as we still have Allen.
  17. Probably because he’ll start out more Alf a 3rd down pass rush specialist and then go from there. I’m in agreement with many on Hamlin as he’s always a step behind.
  18. There’s a long tradition that colleges kick off on Labor Day weekend. You’re just stating the Sunday of Labor Day, but down in the South people travel long distances and camp out for this weekend. I didn’t understand it until I moved to Tampa as people care more about their D1 programs than the NFL. It’s the same in the Midwest. Again, I’d have no problem with Labor Day Sunday, but it’s not going to happen. It’s the same as the NFL typically doesn’t play on Fridays because it’s Friday night Lights for HS football. I know the NFL has occasional NFL games on Friday, but that’s after the HS season ends. It’s the same for Saturday the NFL waits until the college season ends in December.
  19. Honestly, I don’t care as youre statement makes sense, but the NFL has a long standing agreement that college gets to start Labor Day, and the NFL starts the next week. Down here in Tampa and the SE, the SEC is god, and don’t care about the NFL. Its all how were raised. I know in Buffalo it’s NFL all day long. 30 years of FL, and I understand it’s a religion down here on college ball.
  20. As always Shaw, well written and accurate. There is ambiguity of how well these pieces will fit together so there is some angst by many of us, but I too have faith in Beane, McD, and Josh. I don’t how far we’ll go, but there is no way we are not making the playoffs. It may be as a wildcard, but I’m still hopeful we win the East.
  21. All true Transplant, but I must be in the dark as I’ve never heard anything about him not developing safeties. If anything, I think in NFL circles, he’s considered one of the best at developing secondaries. Not just Safeties, but Nickel and boundary corners. Honestly, while not knowing the reference it’s sounds like hot take artists like Nick Wrong.
  22. Length of punt is not relevant, pre-season punts are not relevant. The key is directional punts, pinning as close to the goal line is relevant, so this measured on ball placement. Martin is not the best, but neither the worst. The important piece is what happens in the season, and how close can we get the ball to the goal line. This data is completely irrelevant. I’m not picking on the OP just needs more depth to evaluate a punter’s effectiveness. Bass is a bigger concern as he has the skills and the leg, just his psyche needs fixing.
