  1. Shady, you may be right. Everyone wrote Allen off in 2018. It’s way too early to write off Tua. You guys may be correct as a lot of Alabama QB’s have not done well in the NFL. I’m just not willing to write a guy off in half of one year. Maybe he’ll stink, or maybe a full second year with more talent, a full off season and he turns out a little better. I honestly don’t know, just not willing to write the guy off so soon. I’m not saying you or motorin are writing him off. I just think it’s way to quick to make a decision. That’s all. I do want to repeat, I hate the Fins. Living in FL, I can’t stand these guys. The Jets are a dumpster fire, the Pats are getting old with the guys coming back from opt outs, as another bad BB year and he probably retires or just does the front office thing. I thought it was interesting though McDaniels is interviewing with Philly. I’ve thought for awhile he is just waiting for BB to get out of the coaching and take over. Maybe not. Honestly, I don’t care as we should have the AFCE for awhile. Just because I think MiMi ascends doesn’t mean I think they are as good as us in the foreseeable future.
  2. Hey Born, haven’t read the whole thread yet so apologize proactively if already answered. On this team we don’t play base defense as much as some times, so Taron was substituted with Klein at a 65% or so nickel with Taron, to 1/3 Klein. Klein when Milano’s playing so a traditional 4-3 with 2 safeties, and 2 CB’s was the Sam (I’m sure you know but just in case the Strong Side LB). Millano was out so much this year would be easy to confuse as he was the Wil. When Milano was out. That was simply because the Ravens can only seem to pass inside the hash marks, and TE’s used a lot over the middle. It was a very smart plan for this run heavy team. We set the edge with Murphy more in this game, and clogged up the middle so the TE end throws we took away. McD and Frazier had a great defensive game plan and used the right talent. I don’t expect to see this as much against the Chiefs, but if we get past them (I’m betting 60% chance we win) and get the Packs, you may a little more of this strategy, as they are a good running team. Most casual fans (not saying you) always think of GB as a pass happy team. That’s a more balanced team so you can expect mixing it up a lot, dare I speak the words SB. That will be one hell of a good game if we win, and if the Packs win to get to the SB. The Bucs beat them earlier in the year, but the Packs like us have turned it on in the last half of the year. I hope that helps, and my opinion is not doctrine so others may feel differently, but never be concerned with a very good question. I certainly have needed these other guys to help me at times. Just because I played and coached, I as many of my friends remind me here don’t know everything about football. It’s a lot more complicated of a sport than some others. It’s really a chess match and talent. So fwiw, that’s my opinion. Oh just because I’m typing this now, breaking news, Rivers is retiring. Just went over the air on WGR.
  3. Motorin, I stand corrected on draft picks as I didn’t take into account the compensatory for Brady in the third, but I swear Sal said two weeks ago on Howard and Jeremy’s show they didn’t have a 2nd. Whoops, but can admit when I’m wrong and I was wrong on that one. As far as the Fish, they have a lot of talent, spent $235.8 mil. In free agency last year, had 11 picks he now 10 this year, and per Spotrac have $25.5 mil. in cap space. What I don’t know if this is based on having a cap projected at I believe $190 mil. I know Tua took a lot of flack on this board and deservedly so, but I remember how Allen only had a 53% completion in 2018. He was erratic, but he had a lack of talent around him. Well Tua had no real OTA’s or pre-season games so I give him a little space. We should have proper OTA’s and pre-season so we’ll see how he does in 2021. BTW- I’m old enough when I was a toddler in the 70’s watching the Fish clean our clock for a decade (I don’t remember the first five years, but the second, yes) so I’m no fan of the Fins. I just think they have enough talent and resources that if they start to gel will improve. No one expected them to go 10-6 this year, and not a lot of analysts thought so many new faces could come together this year. With the Fish you just never know. They could draft another QB this year. They certainly have the capital with the third pick.
  4. Thx Chand. I assumed you old farts would know. 😇🏈 Just kidding, I know you can take it.
  5. The Fins will be our competition in two years. We should be fin next year, but after we probably will be ducking it out for some time. The Pats I don’t think even has a 2nd and 3rd round pick next year. They have some $, so they will probably be going after one of the older QB’s again like a Stafford.
  6. I wasn’t alive for those years, but for the older guys, wouldn’t we have gotten killed by the Packers if we did win? I’m not responding sarcastically as I honestly don’t know. I’ve only seen some highlights from that timeframe. Under Lombardy, I thought they win 5 of 7 NFL championships before and during the first two SB years. My dad speaks fondly of those days.
  7. Alex, I’ll take Poyer’s wife for $500. Wow, we really have ran out of anything football to talk about when the debate is who is more attractive, and that great topic, the weather.
  8. I am born and raised in Hamburg, and could care less about national attention. We’ll get all the attention some people need when we win. If we lose, we were not the better team on that day. It’s going to be a great game, and as long as we play our best, I’m happy. I expected to win the last two games, but just hoping for the best this Sunday. Just expect everyone all week will predict a Chiefs win. I could care less. It makes it that much more enjoyable of we win. Then if the SB opponent is GB, I’ll expect for two weeks we’ll hear about how they are the better team. Win that one and we’ll get all the recognition some desire as SB champs.
  9. Shouldn’t this just go into the main AFCC thread.
  10. 31-28 Bills. Possibly overtime Bassomatic kick.
  11. Lime, I’m sorry for you’re troubles. Sounds awful. I hope you’re in a better place now.
  12. Watson may want to push for a trade, but that doesn’t mean McNair will honor his request. He also is so expensive with his contract. The big mistake was in ownership telling him he would have influence over the coaching Mgmt hire. That should’ve never happened. The GM already said they are not entertaining trades. If Leslie gets the job, with his demeanor should be able to calm the situation down. Besides no decent head coach would go there without Watson.
  13. Playing or not playing, I hope he is ok and can get healthy. The NFL is better when he is playing. I’m actually looking forward to a Mahomes/Allen matchup. My reasoning is simply my confidence in Allen.
  14. Don’t forget Duke Williams.
  15. Have you been watching Hawaii Five 0 reruns? It doesn’t really matter as it’s not changing. I like that we have a unique identifier. I have one of my face masks as a bills one and get comments down here all the time in the phrase. It’s grown on me over time. It’s funny as so many tell me how nuts our fans are compared to other teams.
  16. Well whether it was a concussion or a blow to his carotid and jugular doesn’t matter. He may come back, and yes a blow to the carotid and jugular can mimick concussion symptoms. Just ask someone who is a martial arts expert. I honestly don’t care as I just hope he is ok. An independent Neuro will decide whether he plays. He also as mentioned had a toe injury so he may be limited in his mobility. Even if he plays, I still believe we can beat them as they are not playing at the top of their game. We are and are very healthy. It will be a great game either way. I give us 65% chance we win. They are a great team and the SB champs.
  17. I’m confused. Kelsey was the Chiefs man of the year fir the Chiefs. If you’re just saying he is a bad guy, you’re right. This caption is confusing. Why don’t you just say he’s been convicted of domestic abuse, and the Chiefs should drop him. I don’t condone his behavior in anyway. Anyone who could hurt a spouse or child should be in jail.
  18. It is a passing league, and we are not taking a RB three years in a row. They will continue to develop the two already picked. There will be other needs far more pressing than a RB. Whether it’s a CB, or DE, would be more logical. This is supposed to be a very deep TE class and could see taking one in the second or third is not inconceivable.
  19. Been watching Battlestar Galactica again?
  20. You broke my heart Fredo, you broke my heart.
  21. I am shocked 6700 fans could affect two false starts. Makes it even more sour the Browns didn’t win. Bad things comin KC, bad, bad things. Hope you’re ready. It’s goin to be chilly. im actually excited for GMFB as you know our guy is going to talk it up in the am.
  22. The new GM is not a moron. He knows he trades Watson, he loses the team, hopes fir the future, and even though they haven’t gone far, the fans there have been used to the playoffs fir a long time. Would any of you if you’re career is on the line seriously give up one of the best up and coming QB’s in the league, or would you repair a relationship? Bottom line is they own his contract and a hefty one for quite some time. For those thinking)g if other teams, I hope you checked out their cap space for the next five years and their needs. That’s how GM’s think and owners. Could it happen, sure, but is it likely, no.
