  1. I’m the first one to compliment Allen for his progression to one of the better QB’s in the league, and will be our franchise guy probably for another decade or longer, but Mahomes. I was listening to Howard and Jeremy this morning and Jeremy pulled about some advanced stats from pro football reference combing net positive yards minus sacks, etc.. You data guys know more than I on that point. Anyway, in Mahomes first three years as the starting QB of any QB in the history of the NFL, has a rating so high. Of overall QB’s at any point in their careers over three years, he ranked 7th. You guys know many of the other guys, P. Manning, Marino, Fouts, and so on. Montana was 10th. Another data point just indicating Mahomes is performing now better than any young QB in the history of the NFL. Again, I love Allen and wouldn’t trade him for just about anyone, and Mahomes is not going anywhere. He’s locked up in KC for the next decade. It’s just that a lot of people are getting wrapped up in the Allen hype, and the reality is he is now an excellent QB, amd will just keep getting better, but why compare him to the guy returning to the SB.
  2. Major, it’s too bad no one posted it was going to be on, but I’ll keep a lookout for a replay. Did they mention Ralph loaning Al $50,000 I believe to keep the team afloat back in the early 60’s? I remember seeing other interviews how Ralph wanted to keep the foolish 8 afloat which is the reasoning he loaned Al the $. This again was from interviews I saw over decade ago, so one of the old timers might have more info., but I realize the focus was probably on Al, and why he did what he did to get the Raiders going.
  3. He had nothing else to write about. I have no idea what McD and Daboll are thinking much less Beane. Could they want him to renegotiate his contract, could they want to cut him, or do they acknowledge he was more banged up than he let on, so they give his late season performance a pass? I don’t know and neither does Joey B. If he sourced it with someone at OBD, then there might be something to the report.
  4. Boettger has been a project fir this team for awhile, and until we draft or sign someone else, he’s not expensive. I liken him to Teller. Teller is 26 and although developed by us, he’s producing for Cleveland.
  5. Brees could pay them to work and the team will still be in cap hell.
  6. It sounds like just speculation as to destinations, unless they had sources. Common sense would say the Colts or Bears, but that doesn’t mean there is any merit to to the speculation. The Colts makes sense to me given Reich and Wentz’s history, and the need for a QB, But I could see the Bears as a disaster. In the past, he would try and play hero ball which would get him injured, where’re the Colts are a very balanced team with weapons and a good O Line.
  7. How angry are MN fans watching them jettison Diggs, the love he is getting, and outperformed every WR in the league. He’s such an addition to this team. I don’t see every team copying the Chiefs for a couple of reasons. First, most teams don’t have the talent to do what the Chiefs did in the game. Second, during the regular season those DB’s would’ve been flagged throughout the game, and third, basically we had one WR with an abdomen injury, one had a broken leg, and another two had bad knees/ankles. Now, i know a lot of players in the playoffs a bunch of guys are playing hurt, but it was our entire unit.
  8. That’s possible, but I can see Reich and Irsay trying to swing a trade deal for Wentz. The $ is high for him, but Reich did the best with him.
  9. He had one of the best net punt avg. this year. In 19, he caught a ton of flack for the botched punt against the Pats. It really wasn’t his fault. Our ST coach, Farwell wasn’t adjusting to block when the opposition would rush 9 or 10. We got away with only 8 blocking against the Jets and Giants, but Belichick picked up on it. He rushed 10 and between that and Reid gave a bad snap to Bojo, that s why we lost that game. The only reason I knew it is one of the Boston Globe guys wrote an article on it after that game. I really don’t think he’s going to attract $4-5 mil. in compensation, but for $2.5 mil. It makes sense. Beane has made good decisions with Bass and Bojo. By mid season Bass was making kicks beyond the 50, and Bojo was punting 50.8 yards, 1st in the NFL in 2020.
  10. GB and Thurm, you’re both right so I guess credit goes to Badolbilz (I don’t remember reading that post). A team can still win with a quick release QB like Brady, but the trend with coverage allows for the mobile QB. The funny thing is football seems to ebb and flow so some things from the past may come up again. It’s not like a hurry up offense is new, nor RPO’s, and even the wildcat. Sparano didn’t invent the wildcat. That was around in the 50’s and 60’s. A lot of great coaches are students of the game from the past and just place a twist on it.
  11. The man has a job so good for him. In these times, where so many people are laid off, small businesses closing if he retains his job, great. Someone reminded me he was a 5th round pick so how much do you expect out of him? 3rd stringers don’t usually see a lot of time, so $2.7 mil. for holding a clipboard isn’t a bad thing.
  12. The reality is we’ll know a lot more after Star comes back how Edmunds will do. I hate we probably can’t retain Milano as these guys work well as a unit. Each one has a role and as we saw this year, when you take one or two pieces away the others don’t succeed.
  13. That and they practice in the rain most days in the summer. It rains almost everyday in the summer down here. They try and avoid it as rain is usually in the afternoons here. It shouldn’t be that bad. February in Tampa there isn’t a ton of rain so the field should be ok. They pass more than they run, but Tampa can run the ball when they need to do so. It should be a fun game.
  14. Jack, do me a favor and go minute by minute and start a new thread for every minute. That would be awesome. I can’t wait fir the next thread at 8:37 pm. 🤣🤪🤪
  15. I don’t see him wanting to go to a team where there is a young top QB where he won’t sniff a starting spot forever. He’d probably rather go to a team and backup one of the older QB’s to get a shot in a year or two. Pittsburgh, Indy, Tampa, New Orleans, etc. He’d never want to go to Buffalo, the Chargers, etc, etc.
  16. No, we need 150 more threads diagnosing every last second of every loss. Wouldn’t that be fun?
  17. You’re probably right GB. Given you’re family history, I hope you’re seeing a Neuro yearly if insurance allows to make sure if you catch it, you detect early. I’m very sorry for you’re tough times bud.
  18. While some good points, I wouldn’t call Beasey slow footed. Moss is ok for power, but we could definitely use more speed, as well as a #1 TE. Reading what Beane has said, I believe he knows it, and we’ll just have to wait to see what happens.
  19. The Madden peeps are out. I think we should trade for Darren Waller, Kittle, JJ and TJ Watt, Julio Jones, Alvin Kamara, King Henry, and just for fun we bring back Peyton Manning as the QB coach. Have fun with these trade ideas. This happens every year. We were going to trade for Rodgers, Manning, ya da ya da.
  20. I wouldn’t mind him here for competition and see if he makes it. I don’t see a reason why not let him compete with Dane and others to see who is the best.
  21. Disgusting. I’m with Tua. Besides pepp, the only thing going on my Sami’s Frank’s red hot, and crushed red pepper. And make it well done.
  22. I hear Conrad Dobler has some free time. 😀. Tipster, you knew you were going to get a little ribbing for that one, but hey it’s all in fun. I think those guys are past their prime, which you acknowledged, and not crazy about Sherman’s comments over the years. He’s an articulate bright guy, but he wouldn’t fit into this culture.
