  1. Not if it's for a QB. The Jets grossly overpaid to move from 6 to 3, and the pundits have mentioned the overpay but have for the most part agreed it's ok if they did it for their franchise QB.
  2. Unfortunately he went to Detroit and almost got killed by the 85 Bears. Can you imagine a hit like that today?
  3. This trade up at all cost for a non-consensus non-generational top QB is COMICAL. Who exactly are they trading up for? We have a trade... the Bills give up #12, #22, 2019 1st, and 2020 1st and get #1 from Cleveland. With the 1st selection in the 2018 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills select... Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Louisville When asked if it would have been more prudent to stay put as Jackson likely would have fallen to at least pick #12, Beane responded with, "No, our fan base is passionate, and they wanted me to move up and get my top rated quarterback no matter what."
  4. Not unanimous by any means. There is a strong contingent that thinks he is too big of an injury risk. Shoulder surgery, a month in concussion protocol.
  5. Impossible to answer unless you can trade up to #1. Otherwise it depends. If the Bills evaluate Mason Rudolph as the top QB prospect, should they trade up to #1 to take him. Those that voted "trade up" would say yes. If the Bills evaluate Sam Darnold as the top QB prospect, and he drops to 7 or 8, should they trade up to take him. Those that voted "stay put" would say no.
  6. $15M to have Tyrod teach Jackson? No thanks - I'm fine with pick #65 and salary cap relief.
  7. So if they Bills don't trade up because they don't want to or can't find a partner, then I'd hope for something entertaining like this: #12 Roquon Smith #22 No Pick Trade down with Jacksonsville (rumor is they want Jackson to spark their offense and can jump ahead of NE, NO, and PIT) - Bills get #29, #93, #203. #29 Will Hernandez #32 Jaire Alexander Trade up with Philly - Philly gets #56 and #65. Get 3 1st rounders with the 5th year options. You lose a late 2nd and early 3rd, but pick up a late 3rd and 6th.
  8. Wait - you didn't mentioned that the Drafttek mock gives the Bills the choice of Mayfield or Allen at #12.
  9. Giants say no. A mid second round pick and a 2019 2nd (treated as a 3rd) to move from #2 to #4. Jets/Colts trade indicates they need at least 53 and 56, maybe more.
  10. Now I finally get it! David Icke is associated with reptiles. So it makes sense the dance named after him would obviously be used by Geico. 44 ladies that's me... gonna get some cold cuts today...
  11. There's a reasonable expectation that you will do an even better job next year based on last year's experience, and would likely deserve to be paid more, not less. That's the real world, not professional sports. I think it's a reasonable expectation that RI would have played at a lower level this coming season based on his age and with EW retiring. Beane made him a fair offer and he agreed to it and put pen to paper.
  12. English or Communications... which he was according to his Clemson bio.
  13. W Actually it appears Mason may have gotten the missing 4th place vote. Either him or Jackson. 24*(4+3+2+1) = 240 87+61+46+45 = 239
  14. When I first saw the tweet this afternoon I thought he was trolling people - especially with the Hall of Fame comment. Looks like he really is retiring. His career is better than good, but not legendary and HOF worthy. It think he had yellow jacket potential though, it just didn't play out that way in his career.
  15. Not sure what you're talking about. Who said anything about tanking? Who said luck? They were well coached and outplayed Atlanta and KC and deserved those wins - and I said they were shocking, not lucky. As for Indy, yes a legit penalty but that flag was embarrassingly late. Bills caught a break and took advantage of it. That's what it takes for an overachieving team to make the playoffs.
  16. Shocking win at Atlanta. Shocking win at KC after clearly being the worst team in football for the prior 3 games. Indy getting jobbed on their 2-pt conversion in the snow game. That's 9-7 instead of 6-10. And even with that you need the Dalton miracle.
  17. 1) Pick #23 is NE, and not the Rams. Not sure if that would change your picks from 23 down. Maybe the Pats take Mason Rudolph at 23. 2) I know you said no trades, but if the first 3 picks are QBs, then someone is trading up into the top 10. The best chance for one of the top 4 QBs to fall to #12 is if the Giants take a position player.
  18. Christian Kirk Get some toughness back in our receiving corps like we had with Robert Woods.
  19. Yes, he did. He got $10M off the books for 2019 and also got 400 points draft capital. So effectively a mid 2nd rounder value. If he packages just picks to move up, then I would agree with you and he would never move down from that position. At this point though, a trade down from 12 is not off the table.
  20. Beane traded players to improve the cap situation for 2019 and got draft picks as compensation. He has not traded up yet.
  21. Finally, the right question about Darnold by Simms. Rosen - throws the best looking ball Allen - strongest arm Mayfield - top winner, most competitive Jackson - top athlete Rudolph - most prolific and then Darnold - best or top at what? turnovers? Darnold may very well turn out to be the best of this draft class. But the no-brainer #1 comments I keep hearing on the NFL network makes me scratch my head.
