  1. I don't see how that's enough compensation for SF. Trade value would be closer to #22, #53, and #65 which is a little bit of premium for SF. It is a Top 10 pick, so they might want even more than that, possibly #22, #53, and #56. The Jets have screwed up future trades by paying such a premium to the Colts.
  2. How do you know he will play for the vet minimum?
  3. Just watched Baker's arrest video again. He couldn't avoid getting sacked by some cops. How's he going to avoid an NFL pass rush?
  4. Did you watch the Superbowl? A friend of mine is a huge Eagles fan and I just checked my txt msgs and 4 times I sent Darby messages. ur welcome for Darby LOL!!! Darby sucks Darby lost again freakin Darby So no thanks, maybe he fit Rex's scheme, but I'll take the 3rd round pick.
  5. So if all of those picks are House Money and expendable then take this approach with the draft: #12 Lamar Jackson #22 Mason Rudolph #53 Luke Falk #56 Kyle Lauletta It's the same net result with 0 positon player help. Bet on the field as none of the Core 4 are can't miss prospects.
  6. The #6 pick plus 3 #2s (and not late second round picks like the Bills have, but early ones - as I would imaging their 2nd next year will be in the 30s). No guarantee they get their guy - they didn't move to #1. As others have pointed out the Jets must have 3 QBs they are targeting. They may have to settle for their 3rd guy, which makes what they gave up seem awfully high. Time will tell.
  7. March 19? Sure, we can avoid talking about comp picks for 4 days.
  8. The Browns are a better match to trade with the Giants for #2, not the Bills. It could get done with this package: 1st Round: No. 4 overall 2nd Round: No. 35 overall (3rd in round) 2nd Round: No. 64 overall (32nd in round) That would guarantee the Browns their top QB and Barkley with seven more picks. 2nd Round: No. 33 overall (1st in round) 4th Round: No. 101 overall (1st in round) 4th Round: No. 123 overall 5th Round: No. 138 overall 5th Round: No. 159 overall 6th Round: No. 175 overall 7th Round: No. 219 overall
  9. The OP analysis is spot on, but the statistics are almost irrelevant. The real statistic is that every year, only 12 of 32 teams make the playoffs. That means 20 GMs are on the hot seat each and every year. If I were one of those GMs, I would go all in with a trade up and take my shot. 25% chance to hit on my franchise QB - I'll take it.
  10. The market for Foles is going to be very interesting. He was outstanding in the playoff run this year, but weeks 15 - 17 were an entirely different story. The fact that the Eagles got by Atlanta was a surprise based on how he had closed out the season. It's hard to ignore his entire body of work and think he is now a franchise QB.
  11. Yes, he is a scumbag. It was a scumbag move when BB did it to the Jets too. Birds of a feather flock together. Yes, cheated on many occasions. That franchise will always be tainted.
  12. Butler didn't travel with the team, and showed up a day late. This is from last week: http://www.providencejournal.com/sports/20180131/malcolm-butler-rejoins-his-teammates-after-battling-illness "Butler stayed back in Massachusetts when the team arrived earlier this week. After having flu-like symptoms, he visited a local area hospital multiple times before getting clearance to join his teammates out north." Really?!? He had to visit a local hospital MULTIPLE times and then got clearance to join his team? And he got clearance by who, the Pats doctor or the ER doctor? "Butler wouldn’t confirm if he had a chance to ride in the Patriots team plane by himself." This makes no sense. I speculate he "couldn't confirm" as opposed to "wouldn't confirm", as I don't believe he ever got permission from the team medical staff. If that's the case, then he got benched for the SB because of his own actions.
  13. The NFL is probably complaining that the Bills are holding an independent press conference during Super Bowl week.
  14. Eric Wood hasn't posted on twitter in a week. He was posting every couple of days.
  15. Tom Brady is the GOHE - Greatest of his Era. He's playing in the entertainment era NFL where the QB can't be touched and you can't mug receivers. That takes nothing away from his greatness, but I have a hard time believing he'd have been this successful in the 80s era NFL. On the flip side, seeing Montana or Marino in today's game would be amazing.
  16. It didn't seem to bother Belichick as they brought him back to NE a few years later. Tells me enough. I'm in the surprised camp that he chose Buffalo over the likely offer when the NE OC position opens in a few weeks. Family being local seems to be a big factor, so kudos to the Bills for getting their man.
  17. Either Bon Jovi has gotten so old that dementia is setting in or he's just a lying piece of crap. May Buffalo always be a JBJ Free Zone.
  18. Marrone had a three-day out clause in his contract in the event of an ownership change. So, he could stay and deal with EJ as his QB, Whaley as his GM, and earn $4M --OR-- he could leave, earn $4M, and likely get the Jets HC job and get paid another $5M. He would have been Doug Moron if he stayed. Blame Whaley for giving him such an asinine out-clause.
  19. Bring back Greg Roman. Unfortunately, I doubt he'd come back. Resume: Made Buffalo the #1 rushing offense. He called Rex a buffoon. Made Sammy cry to the Pegulas. I would love to see him have a another shot, this time with the new McD/Beane culture and not the Ryan Brother's Circus.
  20. Does this mean we can bring back Roman as OC? Rex scapegoated him, so give him another chance with the new culture oozing with discipline and accountability.
  21. Dark horse: Eli Manning Bills trade Cordy Glenn to the NYG for Eli Manning. Giants select Sam Darnold with the #2 pick. Bills trade picks #21, #53, #90 to select Josh Allen at #10. Eli for the next year or two. Josh Allen as his understudy and future franchise QB.
  22. The asking price based on the updated trade value chart would be approximately both 1st and both 2nds to move up to #2. 717.17 (2) 260.82 (21) 252.71 (22) 106.31 (53) 100.88 (55) 720.72 Total The original Jimmy Johnson trade value chart leaves us 300 points short, so maybe both 1st, a 2nd, and next years 1st would get it done. 2600 (2) 800 (21) 780 (22) 370 (53) 350 (55) 2300 Total That's a lot to give up for a team needing an influx of talent and youth across the board. I would say NO to trying to move up that high. There is no sure thing, with RGIII being the sure thing cautionary tale. This is a deep QB draft class, and quality is going to fall to the Bills. Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, Mason Rudolph, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson... with Luke Falk and Riley Ferguson as dark horses.
  23. Worse record picks first. KC had a worse record (10-6) than Carolina or NO (both 11-5), so SOS won't come into play.. You want the Falcons because the Bills have the Rams 2nd round pick. KC's pick is 22nd from what I've seen. Loser of Jacksonville/Buffalo will pick 21st.
  24. The curse started with a baffling QB change from Flutie to Johnson. It ended with a baffling QB change from Taylor to Peterman. Props to McDermott for breaking the curse!
