Beasley had three broken ribs last season?
RunTheBall replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
Broken = fractured The degree of bone displacement is what determines the treatment. “Hairline fractures” are broken bones that haven’t moved or avulsed. Broken (fractured) ribs are extremely painful and rarely displaced because of the surrounding musculature. There’s nothing to do but wait it out, and to even think of playing football with busted ribs is absolutely mind boggling. Cole was a warrior for us. -
Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
RunTheBall replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
I firmly believe this was Beane’s plan all along. He deliberately tendered Bates low because there was an AAV he was willing to match. It’s pretty hard to put in a poison pill in contracts today because of the ease of restructuring other contracts to free up space. So, the only way we were going to lose Bates was if another team overpaid him (Overpaid from Beane’s perspective). Not only that, we have him locked up for 4 years. That wasn’t going to happen at the end of last year when Bates started to prove his worth as a starter as he’d want to hit FA even if its restricted FA. It’s a win win for Bates and us, even though Beane took a calculated risk. It paid off. -
I think it’s pretty obvious Beane does not think nearly as much of Bates as most of TBD seems to. He didn’t make a mistake, he deliberately made a low tender offer. He wasn’t trying to sneak Bates under the radar, he doesn’t care that much if someone wants to make Bates a high offer we don’t want to match. I think Bates is gone

Burdensome contracts for a franchise QB who’s top 3 in the league, an all pro corner and a HOF DE on a 3 year deal. Seriously, you can’t beat a Super Bowl contender without a few superstars and you have to pay them.

This is why Edmunds is so valuable and you guys just don’t appreciate his impact. Guys who absolutely smoke him on a big play (Crowder) or critical 3rd down (Johnson) are then targeted by Beane in free agency. He helps identify future talent. 4-D Chess. Beane is a wizard!

Draft news/impact - Michigan LB David Ojabo tore his Achilles
RunTheBall replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
You people are high if you think we are taking him at 25. Come on, we are in win now mode. It’s WR or CB, not a busted EDGE when we just signed Miller. Achilles injury is worse than an ACL. It’s a tendon it connects a muscle to a bone, the ACL just keeps 2 bones stable. You never know how these guys are going to recover it’s just not easy to predict like an ACL. -
From Dawg Pound to Bills Mafia - Browns Fans Leaving for the Bills
RunTheBall replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe it’s because we form such an emotional bond with our team that I can’t understand, and don’t believe, that true fans can just cut off their fandom and pick another team to root for and Cleveland has great fans. I think most are just venting. If this were Buffalo and I was that much against signing Watson, I’d just stop watching the Bills and wouldn’t support them with my cash. When they got rid of him, I’d probably be back (but not happy they could make such a stupid move to begin with). There’s no way I could pick another team and say “This is my team now” and feel 1% the passion towards that team. It’s in the blood. -
Deshaun Watson to Browns - $230 million guaranteed
RunTheBall replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hahaha Browns gonna Brown. What a clown show. Their hands were forced because of the Mayfield debacle. $230 million GURANTEED?? That is nuts! Who knows if he can even still play at a high level? I thought he was a good QB but come on, he’s probably at the bottom of the Top 10. -
PUTTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER! I’m fine with Phillips/Shaq coming back on near league minimum deals. Bet they play their hearts out now that they got paid by some other teams. Please, oh god please BRING BACK FITZ

OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England
RunTheBall replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only thing better than the ascension of the Bills is watching the destruction of the Pats* and the bewilderment of the biggest bandwagon fans in sports history (most, but not all of NE fans). Welcome to the rest of the NFL, especially to those fans under 30 or the older fans who didn’t jump on the wagon until Brady started winning. BB is on his way out, he’s obviously still a HOF coach but he’s a crap GM and that is catching up to them. Hartford Patriots again in 10 years -
2022 Free Agency - Around the NFL Thread
RunTheBall replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just comes down to the owner. Haslam is an absolute clown, Cleveland fans deserve better. He’s in competition with the Jets Woody Johnson as worst current NFL owner. -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
RunTheBall replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Take your 4 posts and GTFO. Seriously, this is a clown post. Just because you can’t recognize this move for what it is doesn’t mean you need to pollute the board with your ignorance. I’m not going to waste any time explaining it except to say Super Bowl. -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
RunTheBall replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
If the same clowns who have been pissing all day about Beane not making a move are now going to complain about a splash contract signing, the details of which we don’t know yet, just delete your accounts -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million

17.5 million a year for first 4 years. Backloaded according to Rapaport -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
RunTheBall replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Boom! Wait for the details. Probably a 2-3 year deal with an out after that and some void years -
Isn't Mayfield guaranteed 18.9 mil from having his 5th year option picked up? So wtf are the Browns gonna do? Every team knows they want to offload him, so no one is going to pony up high draft picks for him. Those clowns are going to get near zero return on the #1 overall pick just because they couldn't be a little discreet with their interest in Watson. I feel sorry for Cleveland fans that owner is a disaster.

Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
RunTheBall replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some of you guys are hilarious. Bellyaching over a guy who was average at best in a corner friendly scheme while getting coverage help constantly from the best safety tandem in the league. Take a breath, McBeane didn’t want him anymore and are looking to upgrade the position since Levi was the weak link in the secondary. We will pick up a guy in FA who’s probably better than Levi, and draft a corner fairly high. The last position group I’m concerned about with this front office and coaching staff is the secondary. They excel there. -
Only reason I'm mildly surprised is because of the dead cap hit. It will be interesting to see what Beane has in mind for the O-line

Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
RunTheBall replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I could see Bease back with a pay cut. This front office treats their players very honestly and straight forward. I think Beane made it be known to Cole’s agent that they weren’t bringing him back at the current salary. Beane is very astute at player values, so just like Milano who he allowed to test FA before signing an extension, he’s letting Bease see if anyone out there wants to pay him 7 million. He knows there isn’t. So when Bease comes back I think Beane will offer him a reasonable competitive contract and Cole can either get cut and see if he can do better or take the offer. -
Are you serious with this? There are about a thousand receivers better than Foster. He had a few good games being thrown to by the emerging Josh Allen. That’s it. He wouldn’t make our practice squad

What changes will Ken Dorsey bring to the Bills offense?
RunTheBall replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
The whole point of promoting Dorsey was continuity for Josh so to think there is going to be some drastic change in our offense is silly. No one knows what wrinkles Dorsey will throw in, I’m sure his understanding of NFL offenses has evolved from his college days. I think we will see a little more emphasis on the running game and I agree with McD that a more balanced attack is the best attack. At any time we like we can put 4-5 WR on the field and go balls out pass happy but that doesn’t need to be the base offense. All you guys who think we are going to see a lot less JA runs are going to be sorely disappointed. One of the reasons he’s so good is his threat of running and that will be an integral part of his game. I think everyone is just worried he’s gonna get hurt. Look at Roger’s, he ran a lot more when he was younger, runs a lot less now but it’s still part of his game other teams need to account for. I’d like to see more YAC, we were really bad at that. IDK if it was the routes, the receivers or what but we need to give our WRs more opportunity to run after the catch.
