That was one hell of a block. I had forgotten that he had taken out two guys on that play. The interview just goes to show you why they have a cooling off period in the NFL before the press is allowed to talk to the players.

As I recall, he made the comment right after the Hurricanes lost to Tennessee. My memory is fuzzy regarding what you are saying about standing over a player. I just don't recall. I do recall him being really upset that the Hurricanes lost. He was not in any way comparing himself or any other football player to people who are fighting for our country. It is one of those things where if people want to be offended and go out of their way to be offended, they will read something into a comment like that. Winslow works hard, makes clutch plays, and would be an outstanding addition to our team as a tight end. I doubt that a deal will ever get done for him, but if it did, he would be a nice addition.

For those of you that are hung up on the soldier comment, Thurman made a similar commment in one of those NFL Channel retrospective on the Bills that I saw last year. If that is the first time you heard a military analogy with respect to football, you guys do not watch a lot of football.

He would be a great addition to this team. He has always played hard and can catch the ball especially in crunch time. I would not hesitate if the price is right and his knee is ok.

Of the top 32 running backs (by total yardage), only one has fewer yards per carry than Marshawn. Marshawn has 3.5 yards per carry. I do not know if this is because of Marshawn, the line, or a combination of the two. Marshawn runs hard and is great at getting that yard or two for the first down or TD. It would be nice to see his rushing average increase. FWIW, Fred Jackson has 4.5 yards per carry.

Whether this is a good trade in large measure will depend on how McCargo performs with the Colts. If he starts playing like a first round draft choice for the Colts, the question is going to be why didn't he perform that way for the Bills or why did the Bills rush to make the trade. He did not do much this year. Last year, there were some glimpses as to why he was taken so high. We shall see.

This is not directed to him only. This is a reflection on the running game as whole -- including the offensive line. I will say this though, I loved the way the line blocked on that TD against the Raiders last week. That was a thing of beauty. In the end, we are 4-0 for the first time in a long, long time. It is hard to find fault with this team. Go Bills.

I do not know if this has been posted, but Inside the NFL was gushing about the Bills this week. Both Collinsworth and Cowher had the Bills as a top 5 team.

As an aside, when you go to a Canes game down here, there are numerous people wearing Hurricane No. 12 Kelly jerseys in the stands.
