  1. If the play works, it is a great play. If it does not work, it is a bad play. In theory a play action pass in that situation is not a bad call - as long as the QB protects the ball. That did not happen. It turned out to be a disaster. On the other hand, the team played hard. We will have a better pick to plug a hole. We were not going to the playoffs anyway. As an aside, I was miserable after the earlier losses this year. Now that we are out of the playoffs, I am already looking ahead.
  2. They have been trying to find a legal basis to arrest her for the past several years.
  3. Draft him.
  4. I was lucky enough to be there as well as in the Orange Bowl in 1983 when we finally beat them there.
  5. To a certain extent he has gotten a pass. He has been ok, but is not an upgrade over Fletcher or a healthy Spikes. Patrick Willis is a better LB at this point. The lingering image that I have is when Portis ran over him at the goal line in preseason. He has a tendency to try to run around blocks rather than take on blockers. As a result, he leaves running lanes open. Having said that, he is effectively a rookie. I am not ready to give up on him.
  6. As I recall, Haslett and his agent were sending out rumors and Haslett desperately wanted the job, but Marv had no interest in him. I think that there was some bad blood from way back when. Also, there were some rumors about Haslett in NO that may have turned Levy off.
  7. I do not necessarily disagree with you regarding our need at OL (specificaly center) and defensive line (specifically a pass rushing defensive end). I just do not know whether there will be a center worthy of being chosen where we will pick. Nevertheless, if Taylor Mays fell to us and we chose him, I definitely would not complain.
  8. Good points. Yet, our defense has either allowed the opposing offense to score or flip the field in recent games. Deferring is a great strategy if you can get a three and out. It just has not worked out that way.
  9. We have the QB in Edwards. We have far greater needs.
  10. For those of you who have not seen Taylor Mays play, I recommend checking watching him play when USC plays Penn State. That guy is a great player.
  11. It seems like a long time ago now, but I also was planning ahead by making sure that I had tickets to fly up for our home game in the second round of the playoffs. Oh well.
  12. Ralph always liked his hometown team.
  13. I think that he is going for the Kyle Orton look. Sadly, Orton is a better QB now. I never thought that I would say that.
  14. Steve Fairchild is a horrible offensive coordinator . . . oh wait, I forgot.
  15. For his sake, it is a good thing that he ended up signing it rather than let it sit in the drawer of his desk after the way the team has played the past several weeks. Oh wait a minute. Did the Bills just take their first time out for the upcoming Dolphins game.
  16. As I saw it, the defensive back reached around and deflected the ball.
  17. Nice addition. I always have liked her since I saw her in Manon des Source (the sequel to Jean de Florette).
  18. Great pictures of the kids. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Good luck.
  19. For what it is worth, speaking of stats, Roscoe had a 60% "catch rate" for the season last year -- the highest of the top three wide receivers. Reed had 59% and Evans had 49%. I am only pointing this out to blunt the Roscoe bashing that periodically takes place on this board. He is a good third receiver and one of the best punt returners in league history. He has the potential to be a game changer as a wide out. There was one game in particular last year where he was instrumental to us winning last year. I would like to see this happen more often. I am not sure why he is not utilized more often other than it is clear that Lee and Josh are the primary options. Nevertheless, there is no reason to get rid of a guy who is a valuable member of the team, can be a game changer as both a returner and wr, and has a cap friendly deal. Just my two cents.
  20. Say what you will about Billy B, he is great coach.
  21. I am not expert on Atlanta, but one of the things that I have heard is that it is one of the few places in the country that has a thriving and extensive African-American middle class. Miami is where I live now. Miami has amazing night life. Because there are a lot of models down here, the "talent" here (like LA) is on a different level completely. Nines and tens elsewhere are not nines and tens here. When I was single and going out on Miami Beach, I had a lot of fun. Having said that, I also always enjoyed going out in Buffalo. Friends of mine not from Buffalo have always been pleasently surprised when I have taken them out in Buffalo. I think that the posters who have emphasized the demographics issue have it right.
  22. And to you and everyone else on the board.
  23. Very true. It is funny - a lot of people on this board bashed Josh Reed for years. We saw how valuable he is to the team when he was out as well as this past week.
  24. FWIW, I have noticed a lot of ads down here in Miami trying to sell tickets and vacation packages to Dolphin fans for the Toronto game.
  25. Exactly. I totally agree.
