  1. How does anyone know how strong anyone's 2019 roster is?
  2. I can't stand the guy any more than you can but given his won-loss record, multiple championships and longevity, mocking him out for drinking kale smoothies is pretty weak sauce. In fact, if that stuff works like Popeye's spinach, maybe our guy ought to be pounding the kale too. I'll take a kale drinking championship winner over a cheap beer drinking loser any day.
  3. When you ask a question you know they can't answer, you should expect to be lied to and morally, I have no qualms with that. To say that they took a guy for need is to: 1. send the message to the guy you drafted that you don't think he is as good as his draft position and 2. you are telling all your current players at that position that they are awful and will soon be jobless. Probably not the best way to run a football team unless alienating both rookies and vets at the same time is your goal. And what would such a statement gain you?
  4. I don't see why he can't play weakside LB in a 4-3. Played in a zone defense in college so I imagine our defense wouldn't be all that new to him.
  5. As bad as the line was last year, this new line could hardly help being better. Is it play off caliber though? I have no opinion on that until I see them actually play together as a unit. In the end though, there is no question that we are moving in the right direction.
  6. Hockenson. I know the draft is fairly deep at TE but still, I think that the position is such a difference maker and that Josh badly needs a sticky handed, open even when he isn't open TE and so for me, Hockenson is a priority pick.
  7. You are absolutely right but by gum, we have to have something to argue about until the draft so let the speculation run amok!
  8. Studies that verify self fulfilling prophecies are not worth much no matter how often they are repeated. Good teams already have their aces at key positions and so can afford to trade down sacrificing quality for quantity. Struggling teams do not have those positions filled and the players that can fill them are more likely found at the top of the draft. What do these studies say about trade ups that landed teams players like Mahomes and Geoff?
  9. I've also noticed that many of the people who buy medicine are the sickest people and that many of the consistently healthy people buy the least amount of medicine. Therefore, ergo, buying medicine makes you sick. Q.E.D.
  10. Assuming Pete Metzelaars is coming out of retirement, this mock is plausible.
  11. But how would they do it?!? It is a puzzle with no solution. All is lost, we are doomed I tell ya, doooooooomed. It is a full-on parent trap situation. And that my friend is how you seamlessly work an obscure Haley Mills reference into a football discussion.
  12. You are right, I am convinced. It will be chaos. Sell your house, cash in all your liquid assets and buy all the canned food you can. Canned soup will be the new currency after the Double-Allen Apocalypse.
  13. We all managed to survive having multiple guys named Williams on the team at the same time without society collapsing into utter chaos so I think we will somehow get by. wasn't Aaron Williams also on that team?
  14. Of course, but its not for them, its to light a fire under our own guys.
  15. I hope the Bills' researchers are cataloging every slur and every insult being thrown at Buffalo and that they make a video clip of each one. Show that film to the players before every game.
  16. I don't know if we even came close to signing this guy but I gotta believe we dodged a bullet. On the jack-a$$ scale, there comes a point where, no matter how good a player is at his job, he isn't worth sacrificing a team's self-respect to have him on the roster.
  17. As a child I was abducted by an alien race of creatures who, inexplicably, all bore a striking resemblance to Lou Saban, even the women. They removed my brain and replaced it with chicken wing sauce before releasing me with the admonition that "You can get it done and what's more is, you gotta get it done." True story.
  18. The only relevant point to make here is to thank the gods, the fates, fortune and/or the randomness of the universe that the Bills did not become a Trump property. I think that is a rare, non-political, non-partisan point that we can all agree on.
  19. The line won't matter if we still field one of the worst WR and TE groups in the league.
  20. Yes, I agree, that must have been exactly what happened. Certainly there is an abundance of hard, tangible evidence supporting this conjecture. And as for the notion that our GM tried to make a deal but the numbers and other factors just didn't match up so he pulled out? Bah. Too simple. Too basic. Too common sense.
  21. Far be it from me to take pleasure in the misfortunes of others but I gotta admit, I feel much joy.
