You’re correct it can’t be taught, it can be developed though...Aaron Rodgers was not known for having a strong arm coming out of Cal, now he’s got one of the strongest in the league.
-
I liked him at Auburn, I was surprised it didn’t work in Pittsburgh. He could develop into a pro bowl special team and 5 WR...so yeah, I’d take him
-
For a later pick, sure, I’ve stated this in other post, this draft is loaded with 43 linebackers. I’d still love to get Kendrick for a 5th, he could play Mike or Will

I fear he is Jeff George, someone known for their arm talent, not their QB talent, I would actually stay as far away from him as possible. My ranking of the QB would be: 1-Darnold-I think he'll have to adjust his throwing motion, he drops the ball low, the additional motion allows CBs to jump routes, otherwise he looks like a sure thing. Expecting him to be the first QB taken (likely by the Browns) 2-Mayfield-it's not his attitude, it's his size, without a clean pocket he is just going to have a hard time. He will be successful in the Buffalo offense, this Erhardt-Perkins offense fits Mayfield perfectly. (third QB taken hopefully by Buffalo) 3-Rosen-Might have the prettiest throwing motion in the draft, balance and everything you want, my concern is his toughness. Again, like the two above him, I think he will be an exceptional QB in the NFL (2nd QB taken, Jets maybe) 4-Luke Falk-this could be the next Tom Brady, no wasted motion, good pocket awareness, good touch but doesn't zip the ball, don't get me wrong he can throw it, just doesn't zip it. My concern is he seems to fail in big game situation, he isn't going to be able to step in and take control day one, he is a person that you sit a year or two, but he is a good investment. (7th taken, ideally he'd end up on the west coast, LA Chargers) 5-Jackson-I love watching Jackson, but he is going to need some coaching...he is a faster Vince Young, I don't want to compare him to Vick, he is Young, he'll have a great beginning to his career and then teams will figure it out. (6th taken Denver Round 2) 6-Rudolph-I think there is a lot of talent here, but he is a system QB, his ideal landing spot would be with Patriots. There he could learn to play in the NFL and become Brady's replacement. (5th taken, by NE end of round one) 7-Josh Allen-all the reason we've talked about, tons of arm talent...I'm shocked by how bad his college stats were. they say that the Peytons and the Bradys of the NFL make their WRs better, if you could say the same about Allen, than he had pedestrians playing WR. But he looks the part (4th QB taken by Arizona) just one guys opinion.

Of course, but the good news is, this is one of the best 43 linebacker drafts. Buffalo could get Vander Esch at 22, come back in the 3rd and get another will backer that could start by mid season. or personal favorite idea, trade a 4th Hendricks and still draft Vander Esch at 22

I've decided to do twelve picks It's Cleveland so.... 1-Cleveland-Barkley RB 2-Giants trade out of this pick to the Jets-Josh Rosen, Jets give 2nd round pick and next year 1st and 3rd. 3-Colts-Chubb the DE, not the RB, need for a pass rusher greater than the need for a CB 4-Cleveland-Fitzpatrick the DB, having signed their savior in Tyrod, they decide to wait another year. 5-Denver-Having just signed Case, they sign Nelson the guard from ND, not a splashy move, but a sound one. 6-Giants-trade out of this pick to Buffalo, Buffalo send the 12th and a 3rd this year and next years 1st, then draft Sam Darnald 7-Tampa Bay-Vita Vea surprise of the draft, they want to add to the DL, but Davenport is a reach. 8-Bears- Roquan Smith- great add to this team that will be better next year. 9-49ers trade this pick to the Cardinals for the Cards 1st, 2nd and 5th pick in this draft and a 3rd next year and draft Baker Mayfield 10-Raiders-needing a pass rusher, draft Davenport first none QB bust in the draft 11-Miami Dolphins-Josh Allen, everyone in Miami is either scratching their heads or thinking they found Marino's twin, this will give their head coach new life and Tannehill will be on the hot seat, meaning he will have the best year of his short career. 12-Giants, so the Giants have stolen this draft in a way, they now have three first round picks in next years draft (theirs, the Jets and the Bills) an additional 2nd and 3rd in this years and two additional 3rd round picks next year. (this will make the NFL network very happy) the Giants select Edmunds the ILB from VT. this is what I think will happen.

Me too, for cap reasons we will have to do most of our improving with the draft. Next year, Buffalo should have the cap room to make a few splashy signings.
-
This is the best 4-3 Linebacker draft we have seen in many year, If Buffalo can trade up and get their QB without losing the 22nd pick, then we can see them draft Vander Esch, who at 6'4" 250 is an ideal ILB for this defense. Then come back later and draft Leonard, Baker, Jefferson, Scales or Griffin in the 3rd. Then another in the late rounds, like Matthew Thomas or Avery...but still sign Bradham or Jones to play strong side. If we went into the season with Milano, Vander Esch and Jones/Bradham starting and Leonard and Avery backing up, I'd feel pretty good.

Per ESPN Bills very likely to persue Dolphins SUH
frogger replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would rather have him play for Buffalo than play against Buffalo, so I'd offer him a 3 year 30 million, with 20+ being guarantee, a Star/Suh interior would be powerful. -
Solid player and a good locker room guy, I thought the trade favored philly, but I know we needed another WR.

Mike White or Luke Falk will end up being a patriot, I think both will have good careers. I hate them already

QB, followed by linebackers (all 3, Milano is depth) then interior DL and Center. We need that athletic center (like Philadelphia has) Groy is depth, very serviceable...Colin Brown was thought to be able to step into a starting role too after some success.
-
Prior to Eric Wood’s retirement, I was sure Incognito was a goner. He’s a solid/great player, but 6 million is a good chunk of change especially on a player towards the end of his career. But, do we want to see Buffalo without Wood, Cog and maybe Glenn? I say if we are getting a new QB, it would be unfair for him to come to Buffalo without its top 3 linemen protecting him, especially his blind side.
-
I've been thinking about this a bunch over the last 12 hours or so, more than I should. the benefits to staying put are...Buffalo could add a bunch of depth and potential starters, the two firsts should be at worst serviceable players in the NFL, maybe depth, maybe starters, maybe impact starters. we just have to wait 20 picks before we can take our picks. So Buffalo spends 29 million per year on a QB, leaving them with maybe 10-15 million (after cutting Tyrod, LORAX et cetera) remaining to sign other free agents and their draft class (five top 100 players in the draft). or they trade 2018's two firsts, 2019's first and potentially another 2nd day pick to move up to get a player, that player will be cheaper than $29 million over the course of the next 5 years and it would allow Buffalo to fill the rest of the needs through free agency, so while the Browns are signing Kirk Cousins, Buffalo could potentially move up to their 2nd first pick,(4th overall) the browns like picks and with their moneyball ways, they might see the value in getting 3 first round picks for one. But the Browns don't have a need at QB anymore. So that allows just the Giants to pick ahead of Buffalo. My concern would be, now that they don't need a QB they'll trade the 1st overall. But, I think I am now pro trading up.
-
the cap room buffalo would save would allow them to fill two holes vs re-signing Gaines...Gaines may actually get 9 million or more a year....Buffalo could sign, 2 linebackers and a utility lineman for that amount. I'd rather draft one at 53 and possibly bring back Bradham and Brown (or Christian Jones and/or Demario Davis) and still have room to add others.
-
I don't believe that Gaines will be re-signed and I have a reason, I firmly believe this staff/front office has a game plan when it comes to value versus position...corner is pick value (rather use a high pick) over spending money value...and it makes sense, even when Carolina had a true shutdown corner, they let him walk and drafted two in the next draft vs spending a good portion of the cap to retain him. That money could then be used to help improve the pass rush and linebackers. Think about it in terms of the last 12 months, sure Gilmore had a great play in the AFC championship game, but he is making so much more than White. If you were to ask most who played better in 2017, I think most would agree White outplayed Gilmore. Gilmore's contract will cost Patriots in a couple of years in the same way Dareus costs Buffalo. then take in consideration that the first round rookie salaries are pretty much set, it doesn't matter if you are a guard or a corner, but in 5 years it will. So I expect that Buffalo will look to improve the lines/Linebackers in free agency and draft skill positions. Then find good role players prior to camp.

What will happen with the offensive line?
frogger replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Incognito could be a surprise cut. Age + cap saving = cut, i think Buffalo’s starting OL next year should look like Glenn-Miller*-Wood-Groy-Dawkins *free agent/draft pick -

Bridgewater, like Watkins, prior to the draft, said he was a Bills fan growing up. So that part of Teddy I really like.
