Rapper Shot Dead on Stage

Sad, is nothing sacred anymore? Those things usually happen on the Vegas strip after 1AM. What ever happened to tradition? -
Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp
Best Player Available replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
J. Byrd is a good safety in this era of football. Make no mistake he is not in Ronnie Lott's class by any stretch(just 1 example). Not even close. That said his forte is a ball hawk. Nothing wrong with that.As for compensation? A first would suffice but it's doubtful any team would offer that he's just not that type of player that can put a contender over the top. Again, he's really good. So, I leave that up the GM's that orchestrate these things and do it for a living. I'm not one of them. The Bills until proven otherwise are still a bottom feeder and have proven nothing. To even have discussions that they could be pushing the cap when say Spiller becomes due and others again shows the insanity of Nix's kidnapping and open checkbook on the Mario deal. So let Byrd walk and save it for a rainy day. Perfect example of Bills thinking. The definition of very poor FO decisions that have taken place for way too long. BTW doesn't Mario get the rest of his guaranteed money this year? I believe that sum is 24,000,000.00 Great job Nix! -
Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp

Can you find a better link other than a paid Bills Shill? "each side is trying to paint the other as a bad guy". Sorry, I don't see that at all anywhere. Byrd clearly stated at the end of 2012. I want to play for a winner, or words to that effect. I am convinced it's not all about the paycheck with him. he is going on his 3rd HC and I lost count of his DC's? he wants to win. Players don't drink kool-aid like a fanbase who is going on 14 years of pure suck arse football. Maybe marrone will make this a super bowl team (in time). But Byrd IMO has every reason to ask for what he's asking. He has played his entire NFL career on historically bad defenses. To say the team is getting value for the Mario contract is laughable yet people argue over a couple mil a year on Byrd? What player with pride wouldn't want to bolt? sadly, when he does leave he will be treated by the homers as a defector, POS, etc. The question really at this point should be. How good is Whaley at getting adequate compensation for a guy who doesn't want to be here. I want to see this new messiah prove he has what it takes to get a doormat out of the AFCE cellar. Do a sign and trade and move on. Do it now. The homer Parker hate here is pathetic. Ask the Tuna his opinion on parker. You want to point fingers how about Littman and Overdorf the guys that actually sit at the table on most negotiations on everything Bills and have left countless players of good talent walk over money, sometimes very little money. The Bills mantra since 1960 always has been the $$$$$ first. If they get lucky (Polian) well then that's a bonus for the fans. -
The media really sucks as many know. The friggin Dunsmuir train derailment in the 90's got non stop press. The reason being 40 some miles of pristine native trout waters were destroyed when herbicides leaked in the River. An entire town gets wiped out and nothing.

LB most improved position on team?!
Best Player Available replied to KeepHopeAlive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The addition of Manny Lawson, means nothing until proven otherwise. he was a fringe LB to begin with unless someone can poach some stats on a couple of good games. The LB core why having potential especially the rook, have proven nothing. Hughes being just part of a two team bust swap. -
Patriots new logo
Best Player Available replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unnecessary attack on ESPN? Especially, since HBO is producing a mini-series on the logo change narrated by Vladimar Putin. -
Sounds like a bush league lawsuit.

Well, are we talking fan favorites, or overrated at the skill/position level. My point is I doubt DC's on opposing teams lost any sleep over Kelsay at any point in his less than stellar and overpaid career. Also, I did throw in a dab of sarcasm regarding him being the most overrated player ever. He was mediocre on his best day save a single Broncos game against tebow. He would have been a rotational player on any contending team. He certainly was overrated in the FO's eyes.I don't care how blue collar and lunch pail attitude he supposedly brought to the team. he was overrated and overpaid, till Marrone got here and he decided to "retire".

Mario Williams: Is a Pattern Forming?
Best Player Available replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny, Wannacrap was getting the same "genius" treatment last offseason. When, the bills were (supposedly) kicking off season butts and crowned paper Champs. No change this year. We shall see. -
How many wins will we have next year. (Poll)

After going 2-14 THIS year. Securing the #1 pick in the draft and getting you know who. I'll go with 19-0 NEXT year. -
The Government Has Just Made Me A 1%er
Best Player Available replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I have experience with the survey. When it arrived, stamped on the envelope was the following. "Must be filled out under penalty of the law" or something close. I chose not to fill it out since at the time I found the survey a little to probing. After 90 days or so a second one came. I may have had to sign for it. Then the phone calls started. Finally towards the end of the year. A govt. agent from a Seattle office (we were in SF bay at the time) knocked on the door and showed ID, and gave me his card. At first I wouldn't let him in the house, then felt some pity, since he said his job performance review was based on how many criminal Americans like myself refused to fill them out and he needed to talk us into it. He claimed that future federal money allotments for my town were part of the process. With 2 wars raging I simply said I thought it would be better for the country if he was layed off, or fired. But we still talked and he proceeded to tell me stories of being threatened to be shot dead. And, people letting their dogs go after him if he breached a unlocked fenced property. In the end I never filled it out and he gave up. Oh, no "penalty" either. -
Who's moving their franchise now?
Best Player Available replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard Batavia, but I don't have a link. -
Sad story, one of the dogs we have is a Black Lab. She just turned 14 and has major issues as any older large breed would. And her time is getting short. Even 14 for a Lab is old. Any Lab or Lab mix reaching 18 is almost unheard of. A testament to your loving care no doubt.

Since a lot of older groups have been rated either over/under. It's stunning no one mentioned Spooky Tooth possibly Rocks most underrated band of all time. Spooky Two is one of the best rock/blues albums ever. Also, For consideration I offer up Steamhammer. With the underrated Martin Pugh on guitar.

Pretty much pushed anything to the limit back when I had no kids. Best or worst story was on my Norton 750 Commando in January driving between Boulder and Denver. Dry road and late I had it around 110 MPH when I blew past the radar. I was 5 miles down the road before they even started pursuit. It was daytime and I was in no mood to outrun them although I think I could have. I was arrested for reckless driving, speeding, and wasting natural resources (gas) I believe it was during the gas embargo crisis. The bike was towed and I had to be bailed out. They had zero sense of humor back then. They did mention that even driving in the cold on a bike was nuts enough, much less driving north of 100mph. Man I still miss that bike.

Sports Writers, Social Media and The Fourth Wall
Best Player Available replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
On the Sullivan topic. I can say this with certainty he is as big a Bills fan as anyone here. He wants the Bills to succeed just like anyone else. His writing style is designed to elicit response either positive or negative. He's not the only sports writer in the US who has that style. In fact he is far from original in his writing style. I can think of several music critics that put him to shame on the piss and moan meter. If you think ESPN or any other national organization read or need Sullivan to develop their opinions your mistaken. All anyone outside of the Bills nation needs to see is their record over 52+ years Except for only a few eras the team has been below mediocre or worse and flat out sucked. I would call mediocre at .500 winning percentage, look up where the bills fall over their whole existence. And especially the last 13 or so years. -

Keep in mind and JW feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. JW is a employee of AP. AP has reported the news on any variety of topics for many decades. There is no personal opinion just facts. Now JW can and does sometimes express his personal opinion here like anyone else. The AP is a different story. facts only no opinion pieces, or comments. JW does a good job at doing just that. As for fewer Bucky's, Sullys, etc. Maybe sticking with Chris Browns pro-corporate dribble is best for some. Since the other people you noted do express their opinions and at times certainly don't fall in line with what maybe the Bills FO wants to hear or become public sentiment. -
Bills scheduling woes
Best Player Available replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brown, simply a paid Bills shill can complain about the "extra time" others have to prepare for games. yet The Bills sell off a home game and that isn't a competitive disadvantage? I prefer to call the TO game a "neutral site". game. Particularly when they play teams like the Steelers etc. And their fans fill half the stadium. Toronto has zero interest in the NFL as noted by price reductions, comped tickets, and most of all crap football. Spare me the 4th largest market spin. Since again, Toronto other than the principals (money grabbing whores) could care less about seeing the Bills in a poorly designed stadium among other things. The great Eric Wood says it best, since he has to work there once a year. "The Toronto series has pretty much turned into a joke. It didn't turn out the way we wanted, and I hope we don't renew it." Funny Chris Brown never reported that statement. During the super bowl runs some media types reported how hard it was for the Bills to accomplish what they did because they played 3-4 extra games per season for years. The actual players didn't whine. Why? Because they were competitive, and winners (well except the last game of the year). Now the team whines because of some extra prep time in a schedule that MAY favor the opponent. Lately the pats* and most others could beat the bills on 2 days rest and prep. This sounds like a complaint better suited for competitive ballet. Looking forward to the kool-aid drinkers bringing this up constantly when the annual collapse arrives this year. -
Speaking of douches, your hero Bill Gates ranks among the top on the planet. His philanthropy aside he WAS a cut throat A-Hole. You don't get the be the richest (at times) man on earth without slitting some throats along the way. BTW he also has broken and got away with some crazy stuff using the corporate name Microsoft. As for the "Busiest" man, look up his current job title. If he even has an active role in microcrap? Today, he's cruises around giving the money he extorts from his Windows empire. get real Gates is a friggin A list douchebag. Always will be.

Brandon has actually had a big hand in 13 years of crap product. Not a decade. Coincidently the same amount of time the Bills have endured their latest chapter(s) of suck.Is it all Brandon's fault? No. But from a business perspective is all he is worth. He can sell tickets delivering a garbage product year after year. he is not a football man. But make no mistake selling hope is one of his biggest skills. And, after Littman and Overdorf will be the next executive fired when new ownership arrives.

Overrated Owner and Organization
Best Player Available replied to WIDE LEFT's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Need to give a big shout out to the YORK family, current owners of the 9ers. Eddie D, was a different story. He was a great owner, and put winning over the almighty buck. Although he spent plenty on his players. When Denise York ran the franchise well it sucked. her husband was no different. Now the kid has the reins and they are winning. Make no mistake the new Santa Clara palace while nice will gouge every penny ala Kraft & Jones. Parking prices at the stick rivals Kraft now. Even fan favorite Joe Montana is in position to make mega millions on his "investment" across the street. Can't blame a legend for cashing in I guess. The niners empire ended the day Eddie had to turn in the keys.
