Top 5 Bills Games of All Time
Best Player Available replied to bufffan031's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Room needs to be made for, beating the Jets to win the first divisional title in awhile. Smerlas, blocking the field goal as time ran out should be on a all time highlight reel. It was unreal. Taking a goal post up to Ralph's box, then the parking lots, and marching it around with police protection to boot is seared into my memory. -
Analytics Department opportunity? please help
Best Player Available replied to Rockee96's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, it's simply because the Bills never in their history put winning as a priority. And with a new CEO they still don't.A dept. like that is not under any CBA, it's something a forward thinking franchise would do, to gain a advantage no matter how small. But it costs money. And, subtracts from the bottom line. Meaning profit margins. You would need more than one guy in the basement without even a stapler. Brandon even mentioning it, then backing off says volumes about one of the worst franchises in all of professional sports. Maybe he thinks he got lucky with his new coaches and that all the fans need to fill the seats. Well, for the first few games anyways. I guess there's a good chance the word "tarnished" was just a convenient buzzword for a marketer. -
Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp

Thanks for posting that. Makes one wonder what if any change in philosophy has taken place at OBD. -
Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp

I'm not a person hung up on stats. At all! But yes I am familiar with him pre-Bills. I also remember his Houston MO of taking plays off. For two examples watch the last Fish and Jets game last year. he took both of the entire games off. Was it out of disgust at the coaching? Maybe. If so not good. Like I said I hope he justifies his obscene contract this year. Looking back at the first jets game he was man handled by a jets scrub one on one. But, the apologists will point out his limp wrist, just like Fitz's "rib" injury the year before. I actually like the man, he's just overpaid and not even near the top at his position if you're someone who is into stats, and ranks players that way. I want too see him disrupt, and have to be accountable on every play by opposing OC's. Last year that didn't happen. -
In depth 2013 Bills assesment

I don't know anyone who would take a bet either way on the home opener. If Marrone only wins one upset game this year the first pats* game is it. -

Cannot believe for a second that move didn't also include Brandon reasoning that it was a way to generate fan excitement and move "inventory", and get some positive press for a franchise with zero NFL relevance. Here's to hoping Mario justifying that mammoth contract this year. -
Met Doug Marrone this past Sunday

I thought of that too. What a huge risk. The first team that loses a #2 or #3 and he's poached. He needs to make the final cut unless he shows zippo in camp. -

9.25 million per? Haven't seen that number anywhere, and certainly not from Eugene Parker or OBD. But I don't read every crap rumor monger on the interwebs sports sites. Would love to see that figure from one of the principals. One wonders if that number is just from another "trusted" poster but unsubstantiated? And eventually found to be pure BS. -

Have you ever been involved in negotiating a contract for your services? It's a double edged sword. First the Bills with Littman/Overdorf the same clowns who have "built" this Bills dynasty for way too long. Historically they suck at determening true value. Then the players agent. Sorry, it seems like you take this Eugen Parker crap way to personal. Like the Bills/Byrd negotiation is the only tough NFL contract worked out this year. look at Clabo last year. Hell, look at him this year until a few days ago.Look at B. Smith, Brees, on and on. I could go one for hours with names. It's a business man. Pick on Marios agent for fleecing the GM and Bills last year. And overpaying by many millions and putting the team in a cap bind after next year. Better target IMO. Cannot wait for that epic thread. As for Byrd needing commercial endorsements? Seriously he has his head screwed on right. He will not be selling popcorn at a mall anytime soon. Byrd keeps his mouth shut, plays, and is a consummate pro IMO. But this thread at times is treating NFL pocket change like the guy is holding a team hostage. He's not. -

"Careful with that axe Eugene.l" Seriously though who in their right mind wouldn't want Parker as their agent? Why the venom here for a guy doing what any good business agent anywhere isn't paid to do? I doubt Byrd is banging his head against a wall. Just Bills fans confused about what a great agent does for his clients. In any business. Anywhere. Would anyone want a push over for an agent? Byrd will retire a wealthy man. With or without the Buffalo Bills. Like everyone on the team he is a paid mercenary capitalizing on his moment. -
Why I am not optimistic about this team
Best Player Available replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our seats are certaibly not climate controlled unless you head inside to the bar. Also, Business write off fans? Not a one, although as many know they are bit more well behaved, the rest rooms are awesome meaning no lines, the food is better. And although there most likely are some corporate scmucks they prefer other club sections, and boxes. There are the frequent former Bills players who probably are in on Ralph's dime. -

Prove it, and upgrade out of the rockpile to the Jim Kelly club. That's where the true blue fans sit. -

Sleep Number vs Tempurpedic Mattress Bed
Best Player Available replied to TSNBDSC's topic in Off the Wall Archives
^^^This. if one or another prefers a very "soft" bed. Essentially you have 2 twin beds on one frame. We gave up and dumped it. Rolling downhill with a bad back is far from fun, and interrupts sleep. If your tall and like to stretch out. Forget it. -
Has that "demand" been confirmed by OBD? I am just wondering.
-
Or another way to state that is, Aaron Williams until proven otherwise, has a equal chance of winning the "Cornell Green Award" meaning another useless player at his respective position signed or drafted by a bumbling franchise. Of course both players were products of the famed yet unsuccessful ex GM Buddy Nix. Lights Out is another example. Fitz anyone? And there are more. But, Aaron Williams>Jarius Byrd WOW. Can it get any better here? We'll find out soon when the games start and off season Bills awards become a distant memory for 17 weeks while the bullets fly. Then the Kool-Aid will again be available in barrels, for another long offseason. After missing the playoffs yet again. Drink up now September is closing in fast.

Would You Rather Have Mario Or Byrd?
Best Player Available replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, you're going to compare M. Williams to 2 HOFers and one future one? What was the "biggest" game of the year last year? Arizona? Mario, disapperared for entire games re-watch the last 2 divisional games of the season for great examples. -

There's that. And, there's "My Ding A Ling" Chuck Berry's only #1 hit. Funny, he didn't even write it. -

What does TEMPOS dinner reservation list look like for tonight, Thursday, Friday, Saturday? The answer to JB signing anything is a direct link to that. -
How long does Pettine stay with us?
Best Player Available replied to White Linen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some thought wannacrap would get poached for a return to HC almost one year ago to the day. Maybe Pettine should make his case, after he's out from under Rex's apron strings, and on his own.
