Fans want Kolb as Starter
Best Player Available replied to br1ju's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Andy Reid has already cashed in Kolbs chips at full retail. -
Talk is cheap. Trying to sell tickets in the Kelly Club or wherever by selling/justifying draft picks is charming and all. But the W's are what matter. Show the fans some dam W's and the leave the cheer leading to to the Jills. It hopefully was a good draft. I support all 3 QB's now. But this story has been told over and over with the same results by Brandon especially. The fact that Marrone likes some Skoal hasn't impressed me maybe as much as others. Neither does his special teams coaching hire. Time will tell and I am ready to see the new attacking Bills win some games. Maybe my koolaid is sugarless.

Always surprised that no one ever decked Hester. The definition of arrogance. Brandi for some was always the main draw. -

[please fix subject]Byrd

Byrds sophmore slump may be as you describe. It also may be that in 4 years has had I believe a new DC EVERY year. All of the previous ones sucked to put it nicely. As he said after the 2012 season he wants to win. I don't believe his current situation is all money. That said if the Bills are low balling him and not paying him at least in line as the third highest paid safety, then I would be in Byrd's court. No good player wants to play on a one year franchise tag deal. A career ending injury in that scenario and he is done. Just guessing that a player of Byrds quality in the prime of his career, and after playing on terrible Bills teams to date, he has every right to be suspicious of the Bills FO and their motives. -

Maybe the proof in this is 2 Pac12 pics with one of them by some peoples evaluation being a character risk. -

Up grade over Nelson/Jones with no complaints. Maybe the wild card is Rogers could be huge in the pros, and the best of the lot. However,He definitely shouldn't room with Alanso in camp. -
Geno Smith vs EJ Manuel
Best Player Available replied to jumbalaya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I understand that Geno is a Jet, and everything the Jets do is up for ridicule by Bills fans. The comments regarding his maturity in the green room on day 1 are off base. He's a kid. It was the biggest night of his football life, he didn't get picked. How would anyone his age react? Jump up and down? I remember a guy named Thomas that was stiffed day one. He was a bit pissed off too. And he talked about it for a long time. Big deal. I give the guy a pass on that night, since in the big scheme of the NFL it's meaningless and way to silly to judge the guys character on. -
So is Buddy done after the draft?

It's hard to feel nostalgic for a guy who has never been close to putting a winning team on the field as a GM. -

Loads of them. But the ones that formed my musical direction at a very early age all took place at Kleinhans. Zep - 11/69 sat in 6th row orchestra pit. This show had the plug pulled on the band as they had played past the curfew. Shouts of "Take it to UB" had Plant screaming on stage WTF is UB? They repeated "you shook me" on their final encore because they played all they had rehearsed already that night. Epic early performance. 70's - Andre Segovia. Learned what discipline and talent is needed to even approach that genius level he played at. Bonus it was either his 84th or 86th? Birthday. Someone waked on stage with a birthday cake for him. Very cool moment. His demands were extreme at the time. No microphone on his guitar, and if you left during a song you would not be readmitted. No drinking for that show. The Who - Kleinhans and not too long after their Woodstock appearance. Tommy performed in it's entirety. Sat in 2nd row orchestra pit in front of Townshend. Kleinhans honorable mentions - The Kinks. That show was the last one the management comped drinks for the artists as the band sucked down the outrageous sum (at the time) of $600.00 Derek and the Dominoes - almost left as the entire band was whacked on heroin and it showed.

They drafted their man at 16. If it's early who cares, they got what the believed was the guy. Upside is his best attribute right now.Getting him a round or two earlier than his projected slot means nothing. Considering who ever they could or would have picked has the exact same potential at being a bust at 16. It's all on coaches shoulders now it will define his time with the team. As much as I pound on Nix's GM personnel decisions, at least this move wasn't absurd like the TJ Graham move last year. When they clearly could have got him later. The only downside will be putting EJ in before he's ready. Should Kolb or whoever starts stink it up at the beginning of the regular season, and the vocal fan base call for EJ. And they will. It was interesting seeing the shock on Polians face and his reaction too the pick. Especially since many wanted him as the Bills GM again as recently as 3-4 months ago. Safe to say the pick would have been different.
