  1. I agree, Stevie is an entertainer. I loved the Harlem Globetrotters in their prime they were great entertainers. And unlike the Bills they won.Maybe SJ should work on his power dunks. Or better yet grab those rare passes he had thrown to him between the numbers that would have been huge.If he had caught them. Until then though some people will always think of him as a clown act. Which is also entertainment but best seen at the circus. Someday he will go over the line. it's coming. The nice thing about SJ is he will take the punishment in traffic, and is a gamer. But judging him as an entertainer, well he's pretty lame in that dept.
  2. So confusing, Looking at this athletes hat, is SJ13 now wanting to be addressed as "Steven" Or is "Stevie" still cool? Would Steve work? Will his head explode if he ever plays on a .500 team? or God forbid catch a game winning TD in OT? NFL players that catch those balls are called clutch. Is SJ13 clutch? Regarding Steven stiffing a paid appearance at a car dealership (not what big top 25 recieving stars like him typically do). All true. No worry's though because a stand up Bill Named Fred Jackson stayed an extra 2 hours to accommodate the fans that same evening. or so the story goes. Any range rover tech would be happy to drive the dude to his paid appearance anyways.
  3. Your thought on Levitre not being signed because of "impending Wood negotiations" is hard to justify if at all.Wood is a great team player, that is often injured no matter how they have occurred. He is not a perennial pro bowl player. A valuable center, but he is what he is. I just don't see the logic in thinking the Bills will back up the brinks truck to overpay for the guy. Fan favorites rarely if ever determine what OBD will do. I'd love Wood to stay a Bill for his entire career but the reasoning of letting a LG walk to pay him makes no sense. They let levitre walk because he wanted to, Wood has nothing to do with it. I also saw somewhere Wood is willing to redo his contract now. If true why isn't it happening? The Bills still until proven otherwise are NFL bottom feeders. And, theoretically have NO cap issues other than the burdensome contract of a DE. They have a rookie QB who if he succeeds is signed for virtually peanuts for years. Of the 4 good draft picks Levitre, Wood, Byrd and Spiller. I'd guess they will be lucky to keep one. The inability of the team to sign Byrd long term is worrisome, and don't buy for a minute the thinking here that the DC might think he may not fit in his scheme. Byrd is a valuable Bill and people simply counting his int's simply don't get it. I'd say his ability to strip the ball is one of the best in the league. A turnover is a turnover. After watching the FO throw cash at back up QB's, Kelsay, Cornell green, etc. then play hard ball with a true home grown talent is mind boggling. Let's hope this trend doesn't continue for 13 more years.
  4. Someone else pointed out. Maybe in this thread that if SJ13 was on the Kelly/Bruce/reed/ etc. Bills teams. His loveable behavior would not be tolerated. It was also mentioned Talley would have stuck a boot all the way his arse. That I believe. A bit of clowning around is no big deal. But SJ13 seems to think he is above it all. To the point of getting benched by gailey for his antics. Which was warranted BTW. This shirt is no big deal, but it's a pattern of a guy who thinks he's a celebrity. He has never played a single season in the NFL on a team that came even close to a winning record. His fault? No. point is though Outside of Buffalo no one knows him except hard core fans. He is not a NFL household name, maybe seeking cheesy attention is his way of trying to achieve it though. The weirdest thing I saw him do was after his 2nd contract signing he was spotted in Hollywood lighting a cigar with a couple of C-Notes (TMZ filmed it). Sorry, down there his salary is chump change and he looked like a chump. Call me crazy but I like football players to play football. And entertainers to entertain. Win a SB and torch all the cigars with C-Notes you want.
  5. if that happens and it's possible. The true 7th round diva in him will come out. It won't be pretty.
  6. Nothing new? it was a time honored tradition. Then on opening day he would munch on the opposing teams QB. Bruuuuuuce!!!
  7. Scary but not impossible scenario in regards to Spiller. That OBD will decide that running backs are no longer a premium position in today's NFL (see pats* among others) and a "waterbug is not what we want in our running game.
  8. he has too, who else would they put out there? McKelvin? If he can stop the penalties he can do the job.
  9. Tough crowd. But, screw the guns the more humane treatment is a den of lions at the 50 during half time.
  10. Backhanded slap once again to Bills fans aside. If you're referring the inability to sellout every game in B-Lo, also contributing to the smaller market syndrome. Maybe you should go on a tirade against the city fathers for letting a once vibrant city decay to almost Detroit conditions. With no end in sight. As for stadiums, I believe a lot of people are onboard for the new stadium proposal in Oakland. It would be the smallest in the NFL. Capacity? 50,000 I believe. Talk about chitty fans they won't even sell that out.
  11. I love Chi-Town for many reasons. Blues clubs being just one. But when were talking tube steaks. Sahlens cannot be beat anywhere.
  12. just about anything by Nick Drake
  13. Hey Jerry, here's a free tip in case you're interested and don't want to research this band. The Goo Goo Dolls suck!
  14. When you have a bad back, you try everything. So, a year ago after yet another mattress purchase we decided to give the memory gel pad a go over the mattress. Bought it at Costco the pricepoint was a little over 200 bucks. Because of a bad back, it wasn't heat that relegated it to the barn, it was to dam firm. But again it's just a 3" pad over the mattress.
  15. What does a well run team, and the Buffalo Bills have in common? Just wondering.
  16. If you're referring to Madeira beach FL, then you are correct sir.
  17. Way longer in some people opinion. They lost relevance when they moved from SF to NYC in 1977. But,early on in the hippy daze, They did have a voice. To some they spoke for an entire generation namely the Vietnam war kids. But Madison Ave took care of all of that decades ago. Starting with the silly perfume samples in between pages. As for the question did RS ever make anyone famous? Laughably, and to a minor extent Dr. Hook and the medicine show. Their tune did put them on the cover but already the makeover had begun. Most major (and always British acts), were always reamed on their musical releases, tastes, stage shows, etc. back in the hey day. Today RS revers them as Gods,Not surprisingly many of those same musicians to this day have not forgotten. Now, these guys are simply pawns because RS knows putting their old wrinkled mugs on the cover now sells copies. One writer I liked (mainly because for awhile he was a neighbor of mine) was Hunter S. Thompson. And RS paid dearly for every word they published of his. He knew it, they knew it. And Hunter won. He owned Werner. Rolling Stone sucks.
  18. For all the super fans distraught when he signed with the pats*. Then, claiming the hoody would turn him into the next Welker, would you please stand up and eat crow. Jones is just one One of 3 completely pathetic NFL receivers carried by Gailey last year. Then when those scrubs were cut the love for them here by some was crazy. Easley who is still on the squad (for now) is the last of the bunch.
  19. You would have to think vets minimum with a heavily incentive based short term contract. just shows how desperate the cowgirls are for LT help. Quite possibly his last NFL shot before heading to Canada.
  20. Correct. Just like 99.9% of all opinion stated here.
  21. The important word here is "kid". Very easy to judge and comment on especially for people who might have kids that age, or raised any.Myself, I have never met a kid that doesn't screw up. Especially, when they hit the "experimental" stage of early adulthood. And, certainly not one in the national spotlight. i call this a no foul. Coddled athlete? Maybe. troublemaker? no.
  22. In theory Littman and Overdorf report to Brandon. But something inside me thinks two LONG time Ralph employees that help build a billion dollar corp with the owner. Sometimes jet to detroit on money topics exclusive of a players salary demand.
  23. About the above: To quote the rock legends Spinal Tap "Well that put's it into perspective.....Too dam much perspective."
  24. Hey, JW! On the plus side at least the grammar & spelling cops haven't called you out. Bravo in the English dept. The two main ones will comment on this thread today though, if not already. But, I wouldn't let anyone dictate what you opinions should be on this board. And, certainly could care less on a anonymous sports board. I have to wonder who anyone would infer who you're a shill for? Parker? Really? I find it refreshing to read a hometown writer feeling like he doesn't need to be a OBD ball washer.
