Fair points... To me, Andre made his living over the middle and revolutionized the position where Wr's didn't dare to go prior too often. And in no way was Irvin stronger than Reed, or tougher. Irvin was very very good for sure and indeed faster! Emmit was great too. The Boys had the best O line in ball too. That helped. Of course the Bills line were no slouches either.
-
Thurman>>>Emmit but it was never really looked at that way across the league. Michael Irvin was also quite good of course but was always thought of as better than Andre Reed nationally which is also false in my opinion. Not being on a team winning the bowl hurts individual players reps way more than it should in what is the ultimate team sport.

Nothing could be more ideal for the real game. Would give opposing defensive coordinators nightmares!

For the slower thickheaded ones that start or linger on in threads just like this one for weeks on end (or more) trying to be uber critical or "real" in evaluating the Bills staff such as Beane , you're missing one very simple truth in the NFL. Having a top roster, GM , coach and staff will almost always get you a ticket to the dance (say, a deep playoff run) but it does not guarantee you a dance with the queen. That goes to just one team and to go with that great roster and staff, there are a hundred uncontrollable variables that affect who gets to do that on a year to year basis. (Cincinnati made the Super Bowl over BOTH BUF AND KC) With that said seeing a topic "Reviewing Beane" just brings me to a giggle when I think how far the entire Bills franchise has come under he and McD in so many ways. As a fan or evaluator of your team, what you want is a roster and staff that can get you there consistently. They get you there every time they are "supposed to" (barring QB season ending injury, etc.) and even a time or two when they weren't expected to. We have that. Don't forget to enjoy it for an unsure amount of remaining years while Allen is in the very good to elite range.

***** Bills Mafia rise up***** Best wings outside of Buffalo

Those wango wings at Dino are seriously good! I like the dry rub ones too! -
Who's the "exec" that is literally laughing/mocking the idea that players actually develop? Esp late 1st rounders and 2nd rounders. Dude needs to shut up and look within maybe :). This is why there are perpetually poor organizations (hell ,we were one for quite some time aye?) in a league that drives everyone to the median.

Former Bills CB Levi Wallace takes blame for 13 Seconds

Doesn't seem like you're really responding to what I wrote, but ok yeah I agree... -
Former Bills CB Levi Wallace takes blame for 13 Seconds

as a #2 cb, Levi performed better than expected overall here. I love his accountability here even though we did truly need to upgrade that #2 spot considering #27 and his unsure return to form. I wish him well in Pit but we do need more there and Elam should provide that. -
Rd 5, Pick 148 (5): WR Khalil Shakir, Boise St

I think he's more like Diggs than McKenzie. Definitely not limited to the slot. -
NFL Draft 2022 Fourth to Seventh Round Discussion Thread

Roc City - I think you're going to be shocked with how well Spencer Brown further develops into a dominant tackle that we probably can't even afford. There is literally nothing that points to him "getting lucky" and having a decent season last year when he was SOOO raw and unexposed to high level college talent. He's likely going to be dominant. He was a 3rd rounder too, not a low round pick aye. -

NFL Draft 2022 Second & Third Round Discussion Thread

Elam and Cook are both wishlist picks for me so needless to say I am stoked -
Sure doesn't look soft on his game replays either so that's good. They can get his form fixed. Beyond that he's got all the athletic traits and obviously had a successful visit with the team.
-
My gut on who the Bills would like better was right, and I'm good with it. Makes sense with all his athletic ability and character. The CB Whisperers will teach him the rest. And look we're down to 7 picks total too. Figured that would be a thing too where we don't use all 8.... I'm thinking likely another trade up to come at some point.

Maiden, I like your guy. Not so much in rd 1 for me but, he's good for sure! I would be happy to have him on the team to root for. With that said - 1 - Can you still see daylight in that 10 foot trench you've dug? 2 - You have no clue who the Bills are enamored with. They simply don't let that stuff out. like ever in the whole tenure of McD and Beane. People that have said such things before about them and guessed right have created your confirmation bias. Lets see what happens Thursday/Friday and I'd suggest for you to look at some players at other positions that you like too juuussst in case your heart gets broken. PS. It won't mean that the Bills have messed up if they don't take him.

Yeah I think you're right. And Booth is certainly more a McDermott DNA type of player. I guess it's just Elam's natural athleticism, recovery speed and reach that has me intrigued. He's not as polished as Booth. I haven't really looked at Gordon.
-
I feel like I like Elam more than most here at CB and I'd be OK with him at pick 25 for a nice rookie contract savings (as long as his floor is as high as it seems to be). I see him as slightly better than Booth but I do like Booth too. I am really just comparing their college career highlights though so... could be off a bit. I really like Elam's size , hips and IQ for the position at around 25. Overall I'd rather see a WR or a OL at our spot though.

I find it funny that in the 2022 NFL draft, you will have the opportunity to draft Coby Bryant, Chris Paul and Isiah Thomas. 😄
-
For sure! I presume there will still be a cheap FA signing or 2 as well. I don't think Beane is done at corner yet leading into the draft for example. LOL as I say this - "Bills sign OL David Quessenberry"
-
since you brought it up, I'll have to re-visit the roster spots. Certainly doesn't feel to me like there's more than 6 or so spots that could be made. Although punter is a bonus.
