  1. Most posters are lacking the patience necessary to allow themselves to agree with your rational thinking here. Also, most deem themselves Gm's and believe that making moves like a fantasy football manager is a good thing in real football
  2. I've been pleasantly surprised and happy with the play of Fowler this season. He shows good intelligence with the line calls as he seems to have all the blitz pickup assignments in order for the most part (which is a strong contrast to last season). He also pulls very well and gets out to make a second block well on running plays. He gets pushed back a little vs. the pass but there is still a decent pocket on most plays and he doesn't lack in this area like Teague did.
  3. Thankyou Dawwg
  4. Marv confirmed the other night on his radio show that the current stance is the same as the one you mentioned under TD.
  5. I've had the same feeling this season. Not in all the games mind you but certainly many of them. I'm sure they have their reasons but you're right, you gotta atleast present the thought of a running play to the defense. Willis did convert a 4th and 2 in the Titan's game and got 4 yards, helped by a great pulling block from Gandy. Why they felt they had to go away from that is beyond me.
  6. thankyou for some rational thought on this.
  7. Someday that would be a fun thing to do! The good thing is that they were 3-0 this year in games I attended
  8. Sorry I missed you this season bro Happy Holidays to you and your family
  9. Now that you all have the site address, maybe this thread should be killed. Seriously. Maybe it'll stick around longer
  10. While they're at it can you have them make a big sign that says PAY NATE!!!
  11. I'm not sure exactly what it is either, and we still have a ways to go , but after witnessing 3 of the games live this year, I gotta agree about the unity/chemistry thing. Not since our favorite Bills era have I seen so much willingness, enthusiasm, communication and concern from the team as a whole. It's pretty obvious that JP hangs with the O-linemen, probably even more than the Wr's, as they always communicating on the sidelines. Guys like Hargrove, while helping as a role player on the field, have really helped getting the team and the fans pumped up. Fletch is the undisputed leader on the defense, and the young guys in the secondary do a good job relaying the calls too. There's just a whole different feeling around here, and it stems from the guys on top.
  12. before the bye = no pocket (use your eyes, not stats) after the bye = a real legitimate NFL pocket (use your eyes, not stats) run blocking = about the same but they have been more able to convert third, 4th and shorts since the bye.
  13. Wrong. Peters was one on one with Taylor all day long. He was asked the question himself in the postgame and his reply confirmed what we saw on the field.
  14. I heard him last night and he was speaking positively about Marv's draft and the team in general. I did hear that this morning though and I don't understand what the hell he is looking at. Peters has been nothing short of spectacular at LT since taking over. Coach is on crack with this one.
  15. The fans were great yesterday. No extra motivation required. They knew when to be loud and when to hold back. It's really starting to feel good in the stadium again! There were certainly no "tennis match watcher" fans in our section (131) yesterday.
  16. While the more casual fans often talk of Zach being overrated, I 've seen him too many times live (including yesterday) to accept that. The guy is a baller flat out and he brings it every game. Whenever Shelton went into the game we kept yelling out pleading to him "hey 31, go get 54!" Shelton got him good a couple times but beyond that , Zach had a great day. He showed up more that Jason Taylor did, that's for sure.
  17. McGee was on Roy Williams at least as much as Nate in that game.
  18. Ditto
  19. Just scored a couple in section 131 row 19 !! Hope to see some of you there
  20. I think SF calls a nice mix of runs and passes. I don't find him to be as predictable as some of our previous coordinators. It's true that he took a long time to realize and adjust to a shorter QB drop game, and that bothered me. He has also done a pretty good job in adjustments during some of the games, and seems to be willing to cater a gameplan to the team he is facing, not force his "identity" on the plays that are called. re: MM I liked him when he was here, especially year one. In year two it seemed that he hadn't learned from some of his mistakes made the first time around and his team management skills also showed to be lacking. I liked his poise, and sometimes enjoyed his coachspeak teases of the media especially. I think he abandoned the running game to quickly as a tendency. Jury is still out but as it stands I think DJ is a better coach. He controls and manages the team as a whole much better. He also is commited to running the football. I like too that he seems to tell it like it is to the fans and media.
  21. Fair enough. He never was going to be the type to run through tackles though. Think Rams receivers (ie. they'll catch a ball and then go down, or OOB to avoid contact and stay fresh)...
  22. The is one of the oldest lingering BS arguments against Fletcher and I thought it was finally completely dead. Looks like there are always gonna be a few hardheads who hold onto opinions like security blankets even against a boatload of visual evidence for the world to see.
