  1. Today may not be the best example for you considering that he did exactly what he was supposed to, and what one would expect of their qb on every single dropback today but one, which was an underthrown pass to Peerless on a short out.
  2. Last year's defense would have given up 40 to the Colts. Let's not get out of focus here. The defense needs improvement but is headed well in that direction. Solving the offensive line problems around here will make atleast 10 other fan favorite issues go away quickly.
  3. It's not really about this past offseason. That is an unrealistic expectation to point at a single off-season. Offensive linemen need to be developed or picked up in FA, and we picked up a decent center in FA. We could have drafted one with the Mccargo pick , sure. We needed to be developing guys over the past 5 years and haven't.
  4. Jp didn't take the sack. The Bills did.
  5. I can't believe some of you cannot see that almost the entire problem with this team is the O-line. Not one of the sacks against today was on the QB. The play calling was great. Had Lindell made the FG the Colts would have answered with atleast a FG of their own. The problem is the line. Period.
  6. It has never, ever been more clear than today for ALL to see that this team is an offensive line away from being atleast competitive in the league. Forget your JP haters/lovers, forget Willis, forget the run D. It's all about the line and this has been the issue since atleast 1995. This team needs two guards (maybe Reyes is one?) and a RT to be productive before they will be able to compete. While it's encouraging that they can play with teams, the recurring line theme is very, very frustrating.
  7. You didn't get the notice that the fans stopped deciding our player lineup changes when MM left?
  8. Thankyou. Well said.
  9. Switch Mangold for McCargo and I'd bet you'd be calling this the best Bills draft since some point in the eighties. There has to be something you like about these young players we picked up, no?
  10. Looks like I'm out again... My Wife's Grandmother passed yesterday and calling hours are on Sunday.
  11. what you look for is progress in a young QB, and if you take JP's work at the position and compare last season to this you will see undeniable progress. Please refer to this post which lists some of these improvements that even show up in his "poor" games this season. Improved QB Skills This is not a statistical comparison mind you. It is an angle more akin to the one that would be taken by coaches and staff. Feel free to comment.
  12. Memo to all of the apparently blind people who claim to not see progress in JP: Take last years body of work and compare it to this year. Now we're as close as we can get to comparing "apples to apples". Mind you, this is not to say he is the second coming of Kelly yet... Last year- Jumpy in the pocket and left early This year- Shows a knack for stepping up into the pocket and keeping his eyes down field. Last year- Locked onto one receiver on nearly every play This year- Usually appears to scan the field well but reverts to the old "lock on" habbit from time to time, especially when flustered. Last Year- Serious accuracy issues due to poor footwork, throwing off his back foot and getting into his drop too quickly resulting in sub 50% completions. This year- More methodical in his drops and better footwork have led to a plus 60% completion rate. I'm sure there are some attributes I am forgetting, but these points clearly display that progress has been made.
  13. I especially love the fan and media claims that JP is not reading defenses. Sure, he has lapses where he gets uncomfortable and "locks on" to a receiver, but I guess it doesn't count if anyone else (like me for example) sees him scan through 2 to 3 options on most plays. They expect to see his head swivel back and forth across the whole field on every play, even when 2 reads may be on the same side of the field. I guess they also know what all of the pre snap reads are supposed to be. If this were really the case , I don't think you would see a 60+ completion percentage and passes usually distributed to 6 or 7 different receivers in most games.
  14. Wished I could have... Well in hind sight
  15. We'll make a swing by Lot 1 Pole 5. The key is always getting Dad to leave early enough :-) I was there with my wife for the Vikes game and we didn't get to L1P5 til about noon. It seemed like everyone had already left
  16. It's true they still would have won the game and won it easily. That doesn't exclude the fact that they got atleast 3 favorable calls that they shouldn't have last night. And as others have stated, this happens with regularity. I'd like to see the numbers but it seems that no team has anywhere close to as few offensive holding penalties when the game is in the balance. It seems that the Pats get all their penalties when they already have the game in hand.
  17. hmm... Brad Johnson. At home. Better O-line. More experience. Looks a hell of a lot worse than JP. Somebody start a new thread!
  18. Looks like Pops and I will be there.
  19. Thankyou Chicken little. ..... and now back to short attention span theater!
  20. I'll forget more than I list probably but: Phish Pink Floyd Bruce Cockburn John Scofield Herbie Hancock The Beatles Madeski Martin and Wood Steely Dan The Allman Brothers Tori Amos Fiona Apple The Doors The Stones Led Zeppelin Bob Marley Ziggy Marley Metallica Maiden (the old stuff) Miles Davis Bela Fleck Genesis (old school version) Santana Jimi Hendrix Crosby Stills and Nash Neil Young Steve Kimock Dave Matthews Band .....
  21. I don't know of The Killers, but I absolutely LOATHE Green Day and everything about them. So .... The Killers > Green Day
  22. Mr. T , You (and Joe D for that matter) have been around a while but if you cannot see the solid effort being made by Willis this season then I'm not sure what anyone could say to you to help you see it. He's moving the piles with great consistency when he gets any momentum and has really made an effort to focus on his blocking and has improved on it of late.. You may be refering to his apparent personality rather than his effort on the field. While it seems that there are certainly others who share your opinion on this, I just don't see it. Is the really all just an over the top reaction to one 8 yard run out of bounds? The guy is certainly not the best back in the leaugue but to me he's in the top third. I think he works harder than people credit him for.
  23. Geez, if Joe had any say, we never would have picked up Bruce, Bennett, Hull, Thurman, etc.
