  1. I'm not too worried. Yes it's a young secondary but Hyde will be running the show back there and have our young corners where they're supposed to be.
  2. Wow, very nice addition. This D has legit potential to return to being top 5-10. So much potential on that side,Shaq,Reggie,Seymour,White, Adolphus,Poyer. I think even the most pessimistic of fans gotta be hopeful for the future, this team is really taking shape. A much improved D equals a much better Tyrod as well.. As some pointed out, this just feels different than the last 15 years,
  3. That's true but Tyrod has us up was it 3 or 4 scores in a hostile environment, in the 2nd half, the D HAS to close that game out, I'm sorry.
  4. That's a valid point. I guess what I was getting at is that we were competitive in most those games. A lot of times a team might Win by 6-7 but the game was over with 5+ minutes in the 4th.. A bruised , undisciplined Bills team was in nearly every game, and I just feel optimistic that those last minute losses can turn to W''s with this talent and the way the coaching staff utilize the talent. Watkins and Dareus come to mind as special talents that SHOULD have bounce back years, I also don't feel we lost much, Gilmore was above average imo, not elite, his production can be replaced, and I disn't like letting Corey Graham go personally but I love the Hyde signing. With all the negativity around here (the 17 years is wearing on me too), I just wanted to remind folks that there is a lot to be excited and optimistic about.
  5. Oh, that's right , they figured him out.His last 2 starts Buffalo scored 64 points. He went to Sea and Oak in his final 7 weeks, 2 very good teams and 2 very tough places to play and easily did enough to win. The chaotic defense blew those.2. Taylor can lead his team to wins. Point blank period
  6. Why?We nearly did it under Rex! Why is it so far fetched we can do it under McDermott?
  7. The upgrade I feel we received in coaching. There's a big reason why though. In 2016, the Bills lost 6 of 9 games by 7 points or less, including 6 games by 6 points or less. Throw in a week 17 Jet game we basically lost on purpose, that's 8 losses and 6 were by more less 1 score... @Sea VsMia @Mia @Bal VsNYJ All were veryyyyy winnable games. Good coaching and a better system over the chaotic one Rex had , and you can easily turn 3 of those into W's. That's 10 Wins. No crazy analyitics, just some facts, proving the Bills were an extremely competitive team and if you upgrade the coaching on a team that is close, it can go a long way in producing a competitive football team. I believe we massively upgraded. This group needed more discipline and accountability. McD and Co. bring that, as well as a extremely high football i.q.. 10 Wins is very attainable, stop listening to the chronic negative fan, that seems to prefer the negativity, and look at facts and legit bright spots, that show this team has the potential to be competitors immediately Edit- The Bills won only 2 of 7 games by 7 or less points. 6 games by less than 6 points..
  8. I read up and watched some footage of him after he signed. He was a first year starter but got put on IR after 6 games, after being the # 1 back up in 2015 and 16, behind Gipson and Whitner. He is a bit of a question mark but for the past 3 years has been a very reliable player. He's a film junkie and was a vocal leader for the Browns , especially last year stepping in as a starter. He's not the most gifted S by any means, but he does his job well. Understands the S position, and like I said, is reliable. He's a dedicated, heady player, something McDermott seems to value alot. Poyer can be molded to McD''s liking and the upside is there. If he stays at this level, I'd be content with him as a starter. He played on a mess of a Browns D, will be surrounded by superior talent, and has only started 10 career games. If he can improve his game in Buffalo, he could turn into a very good S.
  9. Exactly! If anything we got lucky because Rex's scheme is so multiple that every player drafted either played in a 43 at some point or has the versatility to play in a 43 With guys like Shaq and Washington even better suited for a 43 defense! Ragland is a beast in either defense imo, I think he's going to be a special LB Seymour/Darby are both DB's and if anything, this scheme will be a huge relief and much easier. Rex's scheme put a ton of pressure on his CB's...
  10. Some nice company and definitely very important in this defensive scheme. Wonder how low Gilmore is on that list!
  11. Read this after posting , I was so shocked by the comment I replied to, I had to immediately respond.Miller is a strength and can only get better , I agree, people talking about replacing him have extremely low football I.Q's or are just trolling. Anybody with an ounce of football knowledge knows that John Miller made a huge leap in year 2 and is a helluva guard!
  12. I'm not so sure he'd be an upgrade to Miller. Miller had a very successful year last year, showing clear signs of improvement as the year went on. Miller is a strength to this OL imo...If he can make more progress, he can turn into a stud, but he's already above average imo
  13. I also see Adolphus Washington producing. He showed flashes last year but he's a perfect fit for the 43 and this scheme, which heavily relies on the D line to generate pressure. That was what Adolphus was known for- penetrating into the backfield and causing havoc. He should be very very solid depth behind Kyle and Marcel..We really have a plethora of young defensive talent with big time upside. I feel that McDermott and Frazier are very good coaches and are the right men to get these players to reach their full potential!
  14. I agree. I think people on here must be looking at sacks and saying he was terrible based off that alone. He wasn't great but he wasn't terrible by any means. You also have to factor in the fact he missed almost every pre season training program, otas and TC. He then gets rushed back into a chaotic scheme and played a position he is not best suited for. He is muchhhhh better suited as a 43 DE than a 34 olb. He has clear 1st Rd talent, not sure where these "he's slow" remarks stem from. He's a big boy. Physical and quick enough to get to the QB. I feel he will excel at powering his way to the QB, as well as that spin move that he seemed to have perfected in college. He's also going to be playing next to 99 or 95 ,I think we're going to see a major improvement over last year and feel his potential is sky high.. I'm liking that front 4 alot, he's also a perfect complement to Hughes. Oh and I can see him having the ability to kick inside as well. Very talented player, highly skilled, I see alot of ignorance with these extremely negative comments Your self esteem can't be too high
  15. Trod could be the future , I'm sure Dennison and McDermott have a detailed vision for Taylor. He doesn't turn the ball over and got dealt a terrible hand last year with Sammy and Woods dinged up and very little depth or familiarity with the WR. As well as a super inconsistent defense. He's going into year 3 only. If Sammy and Zay stay on the field and the D improves like it should, Taylor could be lethal imo. Unless were tradinghim for a better qb option, I wouldn't consider it.
  16. I feel like our O can get the job done. On defense it's all about capitalizing on turnover possibilities. Adding ball hawks like Hyde and White sure help our chances. I can't listen to record predictions because it's truly any given Sunday. The playoffs are 1 game, We got the talent imo. If McD turns out to be a great coach, no reason we cant contend in the AFC
  17. I agree to an extent. I think he has the makeup to become a very good pass rusher but from day 1 I expect him to keep the run in check. Also playing next to 99 and 95 will give him plenty opportunities to get to the QB. I'm giving him a mulligan for last year, that scheme was a chaotic mess. I hope his spin move becomes a trademark of his.
  18. Praying for the Lil guy. Such a shame Karlos let his bad habits get the best of him and isn't in the league anymore to provide top notch care for his beautiful daughter. Going to search and donate a few bucks.
  19. I am in the minority with you. I thought he was an above average coach but with that said, I'm much happier where this team is at going into this year, as opposed to still having Saint Doug. We likely don't have Taylor, another player where I'm in the minority , because I believe he has the potential to be a very successful QB. Definitely don't have Richie, who has just been a steal and nothing short of great on and off the field. I also have a gut feeling McD is going to be a heck of a coach. He will hold players accountable like Marrone but players will actually like playing for him. So all in all it worked out for us.
  20. No chance. Barnidge is definitely a quality TE but Clay is just overall the better player. That'd be a heck of a pairing though, would make the run game even more dangerous because the D has to respect Clay and Barnidge''s receiving ability. I'm also a big O Leary fan too. He proved he can produce at this level last year, and he only has room to grow. I can see us going 3 TE sets, with # 14 on the outside and # 25 in the backfield , thetc O can get very creative and very favorable match ups
  21. Missed this post. Dude I couldn't agree more. Very well said. You put Tyrod on that team for the last two years, and I think they would have had a legit shot at making a deep playoff run.
  22. What a shame, such a nice kid, one of the very few QB''s I was rooting for to succeed, just a tough break , but this happens to tons of college players every year. At least Teddy got that first contract money. He reminded me of an upgraded Trent Edwards to be honest... Hypothetically, Am I the only one that would take Tyrod over a Healthy Bridgewater? Anyway, I'm certain some teams will take a flier on him if and we'd hen he becomes healthy
  23. Ya I work at a bar on weekends so I've had some really in depth conversations with mostly Jet Giant and Cowboys fans are big up here. I'd say at least 80% view him as a top 15 starter and not only would Jet fans love him as their QB but most Giant fans would swap him for Eli all day. Usually referencing the Wr talent difference and the difference in turning the ball over. The best part is , he's only going into year 3 as a starter, he has so much room for growth !
