I am glad we did not draft...
JerseyBills replied to youthemanog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This and it's not even close. The reason why is because of the scheme. I truly believe White is a better fit for this scheme, which doesn't put that much pressure on the corner. He's intelligent, has fantastic technique, ball hawk and versatile. Perfect fit! Now if we still had Rex, I'd go with Lattimore all day, but even without the picks, I feel we got the better fit for our team. Best first round Ive seen for the Bills. I'm 29 so we're only talking 12-13 years, but I give the F.O a ton of credit on this pick. -
RD 2, Pick 37: Zay Jones (WR) - ECU

I've seen plenty video of him finding the soft spot in the zone, and consistently making catches even with defenders closing in. I agree Taylor lacks anticipation while throwing but I think Jones actually game helps Taylor. You can throw to him in traffic, underneath, over the middle and he makes plays even if he's not wide open, beating out defenders with better instincts and quick, reliable hands. I see him being a 1st down machine -
RD 2, Pick 63: Dion Dawkins (OT) - TEM

Exactly. Guards have shot arms. He has tackle length arms and I'm wondering if his lack of height can turn into an advantage? He doesn't need to come up to far at the point of attack. I feel the same way.And Listenbee. I hope he can be our speedster in the slot. Big influx of young, extremely talented players, all filling roles at different positions -
RD 2, Pick 37: Zay Jones (WR) - ECU

They may be right about the speed but I think the better term would be quick. He just looks like he has quicker hands and feet then the dbs covering him. I'll say it again - he's going to be a 1st down machine -

Can't lie, I was thinking AJ while watching his highlights. Amari Cooper also came to mind. I keep reading he lacks speed but I keep seeing him get behind defenses. Either way, liking the pick. That's a Fact. -

The more I watch and read about him. Two words come to mind - Chain Mover One of the offenses biggest issues was staying on the field and this kid can come in day 1 and improve our first down percentage 6 drops out of 164 targets. Has great instincts and will gladly work the middle of the field. At 6'2 he can use some more meat on them bones but he should be an immediate contributor.. -
RD 1, Pick 27: Tre'Davious White (CB) - LSU

That comparison is actually a pretty big compliment. If McKelvin could locate and deflect/intercept the ball like this kid can, he would have had a great career with multiple Pro Bowls. He's also extremely versatile. Very nice chess piece for McD. A guy I expect to have an impact immediately. Plus a first rounder next year.. A+ -
He's going into his 3rd year, when are people going to realize that is who Shady is...He's very confident about his level of skill a's a RB, which could definitely be perceived as cocky but he backs it up on the field! He has a right to talk like that with his career numbers. And I agree with Shadys reasoning on this Kiko posts a picture of a game where Shady had 150 yards and 2 Tds. Lol Go find a different picture, not one where you and the rest of your LB corps got dismantled in the run game
-
I figured I butchered his name lolI'll keep it simple, LT

Ya thinking about it, Ladanian Thomas is probably 1. I think AP and post Bills Lynch might be ahead of him. I'm to young to count any great 90'srb though.. Bottom line is he is a Special player with rare talent

Rd. 5 Pick 163 Matt Milano LB Boston College
JerseyBills replied to Steve Billieve's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Starting to see a trend in our picks, guys with zero off the field issues, that love being on the field, which is a great environment to create and the opposite of the environment Rex had with alot of questionable characters and lack of discipline and accountability. The kids mentality is compared to Cushing? Sign me up, even if he's undersized, I know he's competing on every down and they say he attacks like a heat seeking missle!! Definitely going to be fun to watch in pre season -
Oh and when you put up 1623 yards from scrimmage in 15 games , including - 14 TD!!! 234 carries 5.4 YPC 50 Rec. All with the fewest passing yards in the league? Then you have every right to be extremely cocky, and that's a great sign for us fans,it shows he's hungry for next year and focused on having a better year! That's Shady being Shady! Let him talk away. I love him for being one of the best RB I've ever watch play.

I feel you !I don't remember being this excited/optimistic in our picks in quite a while. Although I did love our first 3 picks last year. As for Zay, he is a really good WR that I feel will be another instant starter. When you watch his tape, he is a beast over the middle, no fear in making the catch and getting popped. Hes Not super fast but he is super dependable, hands are great and he has a knack for getting a few extra yards. I see him as a chain mover and he brings a different type of WR to that group. A tall , dependable, possession type WR that is willing and able to exploit the middle of the field. And he's another McDermott type. Leader, competitor, got his head on straight. Great first 2 picks and we have that 2018 1st Rd pick in the stash! Interesting comparison. I can totally see some Fitz in him as he gets coached up. The dude catches EVERYTHING, even in crowded areas, Zay is going to go all out to make that play, his dependability is really pretty amazing. I can see him as a real chain mover. I hope # 14 can stay on the field because both these guys can consistently win in single coverage -

Looks like we'll have 3 from last year as well. Shaq, Ragland and Seymour. Washington will play a huge role as well and potentially J Williams. Plus Listenbee is a complete question mark. So this is shaping up to be the 2nd straight draft where we land multiple starters.. Slo -

Dough just say exactly what we've rehearsed and practiced for the last 10 hours. Don't mess this one up too....

It's been leaked that Buffalo was going to choose Lattimore had the trade never happened. So it's a simple question, would you be happier with Lattimore or the current situation??? No clue how to put up a poll but I'd love to see the thoughts and approval rating regarding the pick. I'd choose White and the picks by a long shot. What about you?

Instant starter + 1st and 3rd Rd picks = Success
JerseyBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll double that bet!His versatility is fantastic. I'm already envisioning him at slot, Hyde at S on same side, going to cause QB''s problems. Both ball hawks, great instincts and will allow Buffalo to get extremely creative given their versatility. This secondary as a WHOLE impresses me. Ton of upside, time will tell... -

I say that meaning that I think he will prosper as a starter. Even if it's mainly as the slot cb in the nickel. Everywhere I look. Every scouting report talks about him having elite coverage. Bring able to mirror his WR , has great versatility and ball skills as well... And this was against elite SEC talent, for 4 years!! Even his weaknesses on his scouting report aren't exactly too weak.. "The biggest concerns with White are his top-end speed and hand usage. White doesnt show elite speed or the ability to recover. Its tough to really gauge his speed because hes rarely out of position. His instincts keep him in proper position the majority of the time. White tends to use his hands too much in coverage. He needs to learn to run with the receiver and avoid contact. This issue may lead to a high number of pass interference or holding calls early in Whites NFL career" He might lack top end elite speed but his instincts and technique make up for it in a big way, I feel thesame about Ragland, for the record. And the hand touching can be fixed. He lacks elite speed but has a very good burst, and is extremely quick in short spaces, which one can argue is better than having great top end speed I think we got not only a starter, but a very good one. And this secondary as a whole is shaping up to be very interesting with tons of potential and young talent. Let's see Frazier coach these boys up and we can have a helluva secondary -

JerseyBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes PFF had him as best CB and 2nd best secondary player behind Jamal Adams. If you ask me if I'd take White a 3rd and 1st next year or Lattimore, I'm taking White and the picks ALL DAY. White played in the SEC , against the best competition in the country and opposing QBs had a 61 QB rating while targeting him. 14 pass break ups. 3 TD allowed and to be rated as PFFs top CB is awesome. And this scheme doesn't need a top 3 CB to be successful. I feel they are more focused on being successful as a group. PFF showing more love https://www.profootballfocus.com/draft-5-favorite-picks-from-round-1/ -

2015-Darby,Miller,O Leary, Karlos 2016 Lawson, Rags,Washington, J Will, Seymour, Listenbee Tons of question marks but tons of potential. Injuries can't be blamed on scouting Yes I actually have complete faith they will utilize those picks correctly... -

It's a flawed system. Best thing we can go by is the Hou Cle trade. Cleveland was at 12. Hou at 25. Browns just got a 2018 1st Rd draft pick in return . We were 2 spots higher, and we landed 2 spots lower but got a first and a 3rd , top 100 pick this year in a very deep ,quality draft. You can hit gold in the 3rd for sure and now we have 2 cracks on it. Comparing to the Browns trade, it sounds like a good and fair deal. -

I keep saying how important that 3rd is in this specific draft. We now have 2 opportunities to strike gold in the 3rd where plenty of very talented players await. ..KC has zero And no 1st next year, all for a guy that has nothing that screams "Franchise QB"
