Instant starter + 1st and 3rd Rd picks = Success
JerseyBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know, but Whaleys team obviously had this kid on their radar and Whaleys team orchestrated a 1st and 3rd Rd pick additionally. I'd say they did a helluva job. McD''s fingertips are b on it ,but b that's how it should be. Give Whaley props when their Due! -
RD 1, Pick 27: Tre'Davious White (CB) - LSU

You add another instant starter, young, talented CB to a stable of young talented CBs and hope they can grow together. This pick adds ammo and adds a solid piece to an interesting secondary group. -

Darby - WHite - Seymour could be $$$$ Instant starter at important position plus the picks? Sign me up for that every year... -
Your read up on White and he's a 4 year starter that is basically ready to jump in on day 1 and perform at a high level.. Seymour-Darby-White is looking like a trio that could realistically emerge as a very good trio of CBS and upgrade the group even with the loss of Gilmore. He's versatile too, Micha Hyde, two guys that can turn into stars in this system. And they'd be together for at least 3 years. Oh and you get a 3rd and a 1st next year! Straight business, building for now and the future. Whaley and Co get an A for this pick. ..Thoughts?

Andy Benoit on Bills and draft
JerseyBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly and this scheme is a great fit for Shaq. I think he can have a big time impact on a consistent basis, especially if 99 and 95 are playing up to their talent level. He missed everything as a rookie and then near midseason was thrown into a dysfunctional defense and a scheme that lacked identity and communication. It's simply not fair to judge him from last year. He needs the right coaching but he has the talent to strive as a 43 end. Not only as a pass rusher but also against the run. This DLine just needs to play off each other and I think they get back in the conversation of best DL in the NFL -
Dareus play will make or break this Defense
JerseyBills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I felt this way since before the draft last year. I wanted him in rd 1. I just feel his game will translate perfectly to the NFL level and he will be a huge asset to this D. His instincts make up for his lack of speed that many claim he has. He is willing to sell out to make a play on every down and he's a natural leader. I also love Shaq and Washington in a 43. -
Dareus play will make or break this Defense

He was pretty darn good , but that's a bad year for his talent level. He has the ability to be dominant on a weekly basis, af and this D needs that to return to form and this scheme is a great fit and McD seems like a great fit to hold Dareus accountable -

Exactly His mental availability scares me.. -
If # 99 can stay healthy and motivated he can be one of the best defenders in this league, period. His strength , size and ability to be so nimble on his feet are truly special for a DT. The last time we were in a 4 man front, Dareus and the D line were DOMINANT. Yes we had Mario in his prime but we still have Kyle who seems to be ageless, Jerry who has to be licking his lips to get back in a 4-3 and play next to # 99 and 95. Throw in Lawson who is a question mark but has serious potential and whose game I feel is MUCH better suited for a 43 End. Shaq is a strong, big dude guys, and that spin move is going to be some trademark. These guys are all very good players in their own right but if Dareus plays dominating football on a consistent basis he makes the whole line and defense much better and get this DLine back into the conversation of 'Best DL in the NFL'. As well as getting our defense back into the Top 10 , if not Top 5. And remember when we had that great defense, they were consistently bailing out a terrible , joke of an offense. An improved D will make our already top 10 Offense look much better and allow Dareus and Co. to be more aggressive as a DL, which imo, adds up to more W's!!!

Facts very excited to see McD utilize this talent after Rex clearly did a horrendous job. Like a poster said , we still went into Sea on primetime and we're apart of one of the best MNF games. I see those close L's turning to W's if 25, 14 and 5 stay healthy and the D should upgrade strictly off of not having one of the worse schemes I've seen in recent memory -

If we stay healthy we are more talented than most teams. I think NFL realizes and will give us a couple prime timers -
Im reading that besides his wife and daughter and paid legal team , literally everyone else abandoned him and wasn't in court to show love and support. His mom. His brother, aunts , uncles, etc... No love in this latest trial, just the hate and hurt of the victims families. I think Hernandez seeing that was the final straw . Reports are he joked about it, saying "it's sad". Imagine viewing that ,your own mom and brother aren't even in attendance. That's heartbreaking. I think it brought out those deep emotions he stuffed and he figured F it. Saying that, I wouldn't rule out foul play but it'd be a shocker. R.I.P Aaron Hernandez

Your welcome guys!! Yea but some guys play faster/slower. Hyde seems to have natural instincts and awareness, he plays much faster than his time suggests imo. I personally feel Ragland fits this mold too.. Hey Jc.I remember you from bbmb. It's UnBillieviable. I disagree here, Hyde is a defensive playmaker, and in alot of big time games. I can't remember the last time Grahm made a clutch play for us when we really needed it...Stats and ratings only tell you so much...

Randomly came across this on YouTube. I said it when we signed him, that he's going to be a steal and just look at him in this highlight reel. His awareness is off the charts. His ball skills are top notch and he was a leader on a SB contending team. I love that we signed him and other pieces rather than retain Gilmore. Also, look at the competition and games he made some of these plays, he's a plyer! Glad he's a Bill. Enjoy fellas. https://youtu.be/oNsn-x5efRU

No Gilmore, No Woods, No Brown, No Chance
JerseyBills replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He certainly has never ducked but for the amount of money he cost and the new scheme being mainly zone forDB's + strong tackling, I am very happy we did not keep him . I'm loving the Hyde pickup. -
No Gilmore, No Woods, No Brown, No Chance
JerseyBills replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No Watkins, Dareus, Lawson and Ragland injuries/suspensions (HOPEFULLY!) before they even take a snap. We were EXTREMELY injured last year. Dareus/ Watkins missed 16 games combined last year!! That is a massive loss.. Lawson missed 8 , as a rookie , Ragland 16.. Both have serious potential to be impact players in the NFL. So I couldn't disagree with you more that losing Gilly, Woods and Brown equates to this team having no chance.... -
Watkins has made several comments about a lack of leadership under Rex and guys stepping up, including himself. So Sammy has that desire to be more than just a great WR on the field. He truly sounds like he wants this team to win and be a leader in the locker room. I think the injuries have frustrated him but I love his desire to be a leader, if he stays healthy , he's the total package. And it's well known that Taylor demands the respect of the rest of the offense, many teammates have publicly stated this. These things matter , it takes more than talent to win in this league. Man, how can you not be impressed by McD so far, I have a Gut feeling he proves to be a steal and a coach for a very long time here...

ReWatched our home Dolphins game.....
JerseyBills replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I re watched that game maybe a month ago. Agree on all points. Taylor really stood out to me . And I kept thinking, if he didn't have WR he barely knew , let alone can gain real chemistry with, for alot of the season, that we would have seen many more games like that. Remember, Watkins and Clay were finally looking healthy and those 2 are now going on 3 years with Tyrod. If we can stay relatively healthy on O, I can see us really causing defenses headaches and Taylor being much more consistent. McD has stressed CB tackling as a big deal in his defense and you are right ,Gilmore cost us big in that game with very poor tackling. I'm in the minority and I know technically they play different positions, but I'm happier we got Hyde and let Gilmore walk. I think Preston had too much on his plate and wouldn't be surprised to see him look like he did as a rookie , in a 43. Also , I feel Ragland plays much faster than his 40 will tell you and has some amazing instincts, I believe his game will translate very well at this level. Lawson and A Washington too, I feel are much much better suited for this scheme and both have big impacts this year. The improved defense will also allow Tyrod more success and more games like Miami and @Sea
