I completely disagree Beane knew we wouldn't re sign Watkins , so instead of nothing we have a crack at a top 50 prospect. Great trade imo.

73 catches 1008 yards 9 TD as a rookie #1 WR followed by 63 catches 941 yards 7 TD at 15 ypc suggests you are seriously undervaluing his skillset . Yes Watkins has more skills as I've already said but like you said, the mental states differ . My whole point was KB can out produce or match Watkins production in any given year, you took my statement a little out of context I guess
-
I would too. But factor in cost and I'm taking KB next year all day. Again it comes down to production, which was identical 3/4 years , because of injuries KB was very limited in year 4. Ill take the extra 6-7 mil n take KB all day
-
Well that'd certainly be a good reason. Haven't heard any reports though that Bills are concerned with this. Many players have came back to form after multiple knee injuries, Mcl

I actually love this. No upgrade, no reason to move on. If we get 2015,2016 Taylor, with our D , we have serious potential. We were a top 10 O two years in a row with Tyrod. Zone read in the red zone was $$$$$$$. If Dabol puts him in the right scheme, with our D and the kick game, it's 10 + wins. Dennison was brutal.
-
Why is that? Watkins obviously has the speed and hands advantage. KB has the freakish size. Their numbers for year 1-3 are nearly identical. I don't see any reason KB can't out produce Sammy in next few years. Vice versa as well. I just think their overall impact on the field is closer than ppl think
-
I meant KB has had better seasons than Sammy. For some reason I thought he had a monster year 2, so I was wrong there. BUT. Looking at the numbers they've had almost identical first 3 years though, didn't realize it was so close. Point was KB definitely has the ability to be a better WR than Sammy. Excited to watch him healthy next year.
-
I agree. KB has put together a better year and was clearly injured. He has the potential to be better for sure
-
In hindsight, that was a phenomenal trade. Regardless if Gaines re signs. Very bold move for a rookie GM too and I love that he pulled the trigger. Now he has chances at FOUR top 55 prospects, and continue to lay the foundation. I love the direction the Franchise is headed. We're in good hands. Might be the first off season I've ever said those words.

Yea two of the highest paid positions and we now have rookie contracts on 2 studs , that's a winning formula. I agree. I just don't understand ppl talking about cutting Vlad during the season. Whether we agreed or not , he was our starting RG for Christ sake , during a playoff push. Ryan Davis also had a bigger impact as the year went on, Shaq injured . I'm fine with the moves or lack thereof we made
-
His availability has to be a major concern. Davis is a football player, period , I don't see any decline if we scooped Davis, with potential to be an upgrade! And I have complete faith in McD when it comes to secondary.

Hasn't he strictly been in the 34 in the NFL? -

Absolutely. Shades of Parcels/Belicheck relationship Did us hiring Dabol factor in? We all know He was next up in NE , after working for Bills good friend Saban.. interesting thought.. Btw- The Two Bills 30 for 30 is must watch TV. -
Bills have 3rd worst SB odds for 2019
JerseyBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fake News More like totally irrelevant, at least til Free agency and draft are over, we have no clue what the majority of these teams will look like. With that said, this is major disrespect to this franchise and I love it . -
Never draft a RB in the 1st round
JerseyBills replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You took the words out of my mouth. The OP shows how important quality RB are. I personally want a RB in the second round. We need as good a backup to Shady as we can find, it's important. Tom Brady is the best QB ever. Should teams not draft first Rd QBs because of that? -
Why didn’t Belichick play Malcolm Butler?
JerseyBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I asked multiple people at the party if any specifics were mentioned. The Pats secondary was getting shredded and still don't put him out there? Strange. This is the end of an era , I'm telling you. -
Hate to say it...Tyrod will be back
JerseyBills replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been saying this. I feel we hired our OC based on Taylor or Alex Smith. Draft a developmental QB and stick with Taylor. It's all about scheme with Tyrod, if we get super creative he can be a force imo. Similar to the offense Tennessee runs, which has a huge amount of Oregon concepts. Other than Cousins, there are no upgrades and I doubt we go after Kirk or trade up, Taylor stays. Improved overall roster plus what should be a much improved scheme and Tyrod could be a dangerous QB. -
And who do you see as an upgrade over Tyrod? What if our new OC feels he could make Tyrod a quality starter? He has potential, has shown flashes , but has no consistentcy. Tyrod could potentially stay. I just don't see many upgrades. Even if we draft a 1st Rd QB, keep Tyrod.

Chiefs trade Alex Smith to washington
JerseyBills replied to Castellar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure. I meant an offense like Tennessee. They have a huge portion of their playbook designed after concepts Mariota ran at Oregon. Get us back to more zone read concepts, big reason we were the best run team in the league for 2 years. -
Chiefs trade Alex Smith to washington

I give this team/coaching staff tons of credit. It was an obvious rebuild year and we made the playoffs! We're going to be much more talented this year as well but McD consistently says they're building a team, not just a collection of talent. We are less flawed then most think. I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrod is kept. He has to be used in a college type manner, I wanted Smith , don't think Cousins is a McD guy, hope I'm wrong.
