  1. I guess you could argue both. Had to do it to achieve their vision and blueprint of a successful team but obviously this was a choice , and they chose to do this , knowing there would be a learning curve and I'm sure they anticipated a rough season or 2 .
  2. He also had a complete roster. They have talent littered all over that roster. McBeane had to gut this team so I think the comparison is a little unfair til next year , given our dead money situation.
  3. I personally never had a doubt. I think he's going to be here a long time. Just the way he communicates with his players and his ability to get the most out of very little , he seems like he was born to be a HC .
  4. Yup. They are 3-7 , just like us, for a reason. The reason being they are not very good. We played them extremely tough for 60 minutes in week 18, on the road . To suggest we have no chance is just ridiculous . New Era is not easy to win at, especially in Nov/Dec.... P.s - They have the most expensive active roster in the NFL , Bills have the least expensive. They currently have 60 million more invested in their current roster and still have the exact same record. That seat might be getting HOT for St. Douglas
  5. I disagree. We built this defense through the draft. They built theres through high priced FA. We gutted high profile players in exchange for draft picks to bring in very specific type of players on n off the field , including our GM and coaches franchise QB, while adding mid level contracts, like Hyde,Poyer,Murphy. Star is our highest paid defender at 10 mil a year. Yeah I was misinformed. My bad.
  6. Zay made the pff week 10 team of the week. Kid has 0 drops out of 40 catchable targets, after having bone of the worse drop ratios last year. Salute to him for clearly improving many facets of his game - route running, catching and awareness. He has legit #2 wr written all over him , possibly a 1b WR.
  7. Yeah true. I was misinformed on that statement. But just in general , they signed high profile FA , Bouye, Campbell ,Jackson , Norwell, etc , without having their QB in place. Whileall these guys are playing good football , it's not equating to Wins. Subpar drafting and again , not having a franchise QB , or maybe they thought Blake was the guy , which he obviously isn't. I just don't agree with the way they've built their roster and I see our staffs Vision and blueprint and feel they did it the right way. Now Jax needs a franchise QB or at least an upgrade over Blake and again, very little flexibility to do so in FA and not much draft capital to do so in the draft.
  8. Well alot is riding on the upcoming off-season and Beane needs to make the right choices and contract decisions, as well as continuing to draft good but you can see the vision they have for this team and have laid a phenomenal foundation imo and after gutting the team have built it back up the right way . I anticipate long term, sustainable success , the way the roster has been built and trust this staffs decision making ability.
  9. That team is a perfect example of how not to build a team. Currently have the most expensive active roster , a roster worth 60 mil more than Buffalo. They'll be in cap hell for a couple years and have to rebuild all over again. Bet they're loving that Dareus contract ?? Buffalo on the other hand has designed the team to be able to sustain long term success . As for Ramsey, I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole .
  10. Is Lorax a FA this upcoming off-seaso? If so we need him back for his leadership and performance on the field. Dude is a beast!!
  11. Still gotta see what we got in Foster, McKenzie,Ray Ray and Teller. I also think Miller or Mills sticks on the OL , as well as Dawkins obviously
  12. Highly unlikely but like you said , not that unrealistic. I think the defense closes out the year ferociously if we can get a consistent offense going and stranger things have happened in this league. Good post! Stay optimistic my friend and let's gooooooooo Buffffffalllooooooo
  13. Great points. The staff get a great look at Allen,Teller,Foster,McKenzie , Marcus Murphy, Croom , Ray Ray on O . D is really stacked . Both Phillips are good, we get to see how Ryan Lewis and Levi Wallace fit. How Trent Murphy finishes. If Shaq can continue to play really solid football. Is Lorax a FA after this year? I know he's 35 but remember he doesn't have many miles on him at all and hope he's a Bill next year. He's playing good ball. Just as a situational pass rusher even .
  14. Nice post op. I think we really have to revisit it after the season With Foster looking much improved out there and a potential legit deep threat, Zay , who I've said all year is much improved in route running, catching and awareness and can be a legit #2 , possibly even a 1B option and McKenzie who looks lethal with the ball in his hands, yes it was one game, but we gotta see how these 3 young guys finish and if they can be contributors for the future. McBeane seem to like bigger, possession WR as well, which we'll be lacking, I could see Sanu or Marvin Jones targeted. And/Or a 2nd-3rd rounder in the draft. Could also see him trade for a WR. I would have loved Cooper for example.
  15. Thanks to Beane we are in a position to go bpa and I still think we have a shot at Oliver
  16. Not ONE RB in this league would put up good numbers with the Pass game Shady played with. 8-9 in the box on a regular basis , with zero respect for the pass game. Last week , with a solid pass game , Shady looked electric. His cutting ability is still the best . That spin move was straight outta Madden. The TD run , he showed great speed to beat the S to the end zone. He's a leader, captain, loves this team and an ultimate gamer that hasn't lost 1/10th of a step. I feel the complete opposite. I want him on this team for at least 2 more years, he's a rare playmaker and deadly in the pass game too.
  17. Last week proved to the world Shady is still elite as they come. It almost looked like he gained a step! First game all year where he had a legit pass game the defense had to respect and he looked phenomenal. Anyway, I've been saying since last year , the way he runs , ability to avoid big hits will prolong his career way further than the typical RB . Also , Reid,Kelly,Rex and M D have all praised his work ethic , so he's going to put in the work for sure. I think he has 2-3 years as a legit #1 and a cpl years as a very nice compliment. You rarely see him take the big shots that 95% of NFL RB take. Very smart out there , for example, he'll go out of bounds after a 1st down , versus taking on a S or LB for an extra yard or 2. He's a rare talent.
  18. Especially their OL and DL . The trenches become even more crucial in Dec/Jan and Pitt probably has the best OL in the game and a very very good DL. They definitely are legit contenders imo. NE is very beatable and KC just seems to collapse in the post season under Reid.
  19. The ATL game scares me personally. Yes they're better at home but Dal just got a huge road win , in a similar situation this week and looks like Cooper and Zeke can be a huge headache for defenses. ATL and Dal have just been so inconsistent . But I see your logic and think it's a solid pick. Personally, I'd go with the more consistent team in N.O or Pitt who has seemed to hit their stride after a rough start to the year
  20. Yup. We'll have an idea by the end of this season but won't have an answer til next.
  21. I totally see why you feel this way. In survivor pools though, especially this deep, I would personally never risk it on a 2-7 team, 1-4 at home , with a rookie QB with 6 TD and 8 int .. But I got knocked out in week 7 , so what do I know
  22. Exactly. They were in really bad shape last week and then Darby goes down. I just don't see how this current Eagles defense can contain a red hot Saints offense . A close second to me would be Pitt. They had a bit of a rough start to the season but have really found their stride and Jax seems like it's quitting on St Doug. Good luck man.
  23. Yup. I'm excited to see him with a More speedy WR corps. He just missed Foster on a couple bombs , but Foster looks like he worked hard and got coached up on running those deep routes. McKenzie looks super dangerous with the ball in his hands and has great speed. Thompson is back. Zay looks like the guy we expected to get when we moved in the 2nd Rd. I also think these players allow Daboll to run his scheme how he envisioned it to look and make defenses respect the deep ball, which opens up the run game .
  24. Allen now has 2 or 3 (McKenzie) deep threats. Hope to see some 70 yard bombs! Welcome back Deonte
