our D did better! lol we were really impressive that game, on the road too. Wonder what happens if Allen didn't get hurt -
top 5 defense , with the highest paid player being Star, only making 10 mil per and 5 starting 1st or 2nd year players on the back 7 , I'd say the GM, HC and DC are doing just fine! This gives us the flexibility to heavily focus on offense in FA. Which will only improve the D too so they aren't put in bad field position and can play with a lead . You can clearly see the blueprint and vision this staff has and we are set up to have long term success starting next year!

I get so jealous seeing WR get yards after the catch?. I was watching Mahomes highlight of him hitting Hill on a 5 yard slant for a TD . Allen has to be the qb the gets the least yac in the league. -

you think the terrible ol is holding them back from using that? So Allen doesn't get lit up running it? -

Man i can't wait to see Allen behind an improved OL. He was running for his life almost every play, literally . Watson can just sit back n wait for routes to develop. -
Dude, I guess he feels it was impressive for a rookie to take advantage of an Offside like that and go deep. It wasn't a TD but we gained a huge amount of yards. And I guess we are watching different games because I don't see QB go deep like that as often as you are making it out to be. I'm not saying QBs don't do it, but I'm saying it's in no way a play that every qb makes on a consistent basis. Again, our previous veteran starter of 3 years never made that type of throw, literally. It sounds like you have a biased against Allen. All we are saying is that it was great situational awareness by our rookie qb , and you seem to not like the fact we are showing him some love for this. It's coached and preached to do so, but we must be watching different games because i just don't see it happen that much.
-
Really appreciate the stats..I was second guessing myself for a minute, because i didn't think it was as common as some people are saying , just from watching a fair amount of games a year I don't see QBs take advantage of a free play and go deep like Allen did and see Rodgers consistently do it. I'm not in no way comparing the two, as i stated , Rodgers was the first guy i thought of when he made the throw and these stats pretty much confirm what my eyes have seen. Regardless of what anyone says, it was very impressive and encouraging to ME .
-
Lol. It's just that Rodgers seems to make a living off that, it feels like he's doing that every time i see the Pack play . He was the player that came to mind when Allen threw the deep ball knowing the D was Offside, Rodgers consistently will chuck it deep when the D is Offside. Not many QBs do . I just thought it was a very heady play for a rookie , and again, our previous QB would never make a throw like that, as he seemed to be stuck in his head, nervous in the pocket and didn't trust his throwing ability, so Taylor was thinking, while Allen just reacted and made a veteran throw there.

Broncos Redraft: Chubb still or Allen/Other QB, etc
JerseyBills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen by a landslide. Chubb is having a phenomenal rookie year, but even with a top 5 edge rusher opposite him, the 2 having the most sacks by any duo in the league, it's not going to equate to a playoff berth for the Broncos and they have an overpaid vet QB that is clearly not the answer for short or long term success. So with no legit options on the FA market, the Broncos are going to have to draft a franchise QB asap . Allen would be even more impressive with that OL and solid WR corp and it is much much much easier to find a legit edge rusher than a franchise QB. -
So probably my favorite play from the Jet game is when Allen forced the DE Offside , had the awareness the flag was thrown and just chucked one up to I believe Zay Jones, resulting in a pass interference and a 30-40 yard gain! Aka the Aaron Rodgers special. This is super heady for a rookie and something Rodgers has made a living doing on a consistent basis in Green Bay. The next thing that crossed my mind after being super super impressed by this heady, veteran like play was how I remember Tyrod Taylor NEVER taking advantage of offside penalties. I was on BBMB at that time but we definitely had a few discussions about Tyrod just not having the awareness to take advantage of the offside . Just another example that this kid has tons of potential and another example of a great, veteran play that wont show up on the stat sheet and eventually resulted in a Bills TD. Haven't seen this particular play discussed on here, as I'm sure many posters felt very refreshed seeing Allen make that throw , especially after 3 years of Taylor failing to ever come close to making that type of play.
