  1. It really is! I feel the exact same way. Carpenter was very good and I had confidence in him but that only lasted one year. Hau$ch is on a different level , we really lucked out, especially with alot of teams struggling to find guys that can consistently hit 40 yarders.. He's one of the most important weapons on this team going forward when you really think about it
  2. I didn't know that was the reason.. Interesting
  3. It's still mind boggling he was available in the first place. He was great in Sea for their SB contender years. He's been amazing as a Bill.
  4. McKenzie And Foster happened !!! That kid McKenzie looks super dangerous with the ball in his hand , apparently he's only 5'7 but that boy looks like he can turn into a big time playmaker.. Foster looks like he has worked extremely hard since he got demoted back to the practice squad and looks much improved. They obviously liked him as a legit deep threat since September, but he was out of position on his routes , lacked awareness and anticipation. Looks much improved in all those areas. He missed like 3-4 bombs from Allen earlier in the year because of his poor execution but like I said, he looks like he worked hard and much improved. Their potential is much higher than Pryors
  5. Yeah I agree and I think those moves are definitely made. There's just not much glaring needs that needs to be added to the defense, so they can heavily focus on the offensive side. Beane has a ton of flexibility this off-season, when you really look at the situation, we're sitting pretty nice , you look at the Jests, the only team that'll have more cap space, has plenty of holes and nowhere near the flexibility as Buff. Beane Can go bpa in the draft as well..
  6. I guess my point was their offenses are much better and more consistent. It seemed like you were comparing our offense to theirs , but in reality Dallas averages 60 more ypg and Carolina averages 90 more ypg , so even though they don't have elite offenses, they are still much better than the current Bills O. That's basically all I was saying. That is likely to change next year though,as we could spend the majority of our money on O and add the finishing touches to an already Great defense.
  7. Dallas just drafted a top 5 rb and traded a 1st for a WR. Carolina also drafted a 1st Rd RB and drafted a 1st Rd WR. So they put much more emphasis on their offense, and they are both in the middle of the pack. Our O has been abysmal, minus 2 games.
  8. ESPN as well. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing/sort/yardsPerRushAttempt 5.1 ypa for Carolina. Tied for 2nd highest in NFL Where'd you get your info!?! They don't have a historically bad offense who has started 4 QB in 10 games, including one rookie. If we just had a competent O, which both those teams have, the defense would benefit greatly. Our offense has been brutal for the most part.
  9. 3rd in the NFL in QB pressures. Possibly the most underrated DE in the league. Seems like every week he's causing havoc. I agree on Hyde/White , as well as Milano and Poyer
  10. I thought he has played very well , he just has injury concerns, which I agree is a big deal . Maybe great is a poor choice of words , but I definitely would consider him a good signing , if he stays healthy.
  11. Wow. That is very interesting if nothing else . I think we got a glimpse vs the Jets of what Daboll would like to accomplish on a weekly basis and I believe a big reason was adding speed in Foster and McKenzie. We have 6 more games to see if they can be consistent and apart of the Os future. Zay has looked much improved all year and showed he can be counted on when getting targets. And what do you know , Shady looked like it was 2011 with a competent pass game in front of him. I loved the play calling this week and again, I think we were just sorely lacking speed out there , which really limited what we could do on offense.
  12. This was our biggest signing in FA last year and largely deemed a bad , overpaid signing by national and some local media. While his numbers might look that way to the average fan , he has made a huge impact in what was a pretty putrid run D last year. While Buf sits in the middle of the pack in total rush yards allowed, they are 3rd in the league in ypc given up ,at 3.8 per carry. He has mainly done what he's supposed to do , eat space and free up his teammates and young up n coming LB to make the play. He's not flashy but he was a necessity for this scheme to be effective in the run game. On the flip side , it looks like he's being sorely missed in Car. Even with alot of big names and pro bowlers in that front 7 , they currently have given up the 4th most rushing yards in the league and are tied for 2nd most at giving up 5.1 ypc! They are also tied for 3rd worse giving up 12 rushing TD , compared to 7 by Buffalo. Just wanted to show some love to Star and Beane . In his first full off-season as GM , the cash strapped Beane made Star his highest paid FA and while not a sexy pickup by any means, he is a big reason we are currently the #1 ranked defense and a muchhhhh improved rush defense. We all know the secondary is young and will have years to grow together but the front 7 quietly is flexing its guns. Minus Kyle and Lorax , this is a group that will be together for a few years themselves and Murphy (if able to stay healthy) and Star were great additions. Milano is on the verge of being a superstar. Edmunds has made rookie mistakes but the D just plays better with him. Shaq seems to have finally turned the lights on and is extremely versatile. Both Phillips look to be great additions and Hughes is just a beast. Probably the most underrated DE in the league. With only 5.5 sacks, he's 3rd in the league in QB pressures , and has mastered the art of stripping the ball. Just wanted to give the front 7 much deserved props. Just imagine this defense with an offense that isn't consistently putting them in bad field position , consistently going 3& out and actually giving them a lead to play with. They can be an elite , championship defense for a few years. Mr. Beane will have plenty of opportunity to make that a reality this upcoming off-season .
  13. We're already calling it a tough schedule ? Lol . I mean vevery game is tough really. There's not many gimmes in this league but geez , the season hasn't even ended . Mostly every team vwill look different compared to this year
  14. Well Bowels is the guy they fired him for....
  15. I guess i meant it More as we have the best defense and top 5 secondary. I would bet the house that Beane/McD had talked about last year's draft ,which looks very good , as well as this years. Edmunds is the youngest mlb in the game, he's got all pro written all over him. Both Murphy's. Ivory. Jordan Phillips. Star as you said... He was the most cash strapped GM this year , last in dead money, by ALOT. Last in active cap spending. Our next opponent , Jax, has a roster worth 60 million more than ours. Beane was Extremely limited in what he could do, by design though. But he got something for Watkins who they weren't resigning , Darby and Dareus. He compiled the current #1 defense in the league. Mishandled QB this year but has his guy for the Long haul. Might have something in Foster, McKenzie. I see vthe vision and as cliche as it is , I truly trust the process and vision McBeane has for this team , for the Long haul. Beane has consistently said they're building for multiple years of success. Let's see how he does in an offseason where he has a ton of money and a ton of flexibility. He completely gutted this team and again, I love the direction he's going and the culture he's building. The future is very bright and in good hands.
  16. Gruden is jumping all over him! Thank the Lord he's off this team. One thing you can't take away from him is his record setting numbers will likely stand for eternity. Good luck Peterman
  17. Shame . I like Darby but sure makes Beane look good. He's part of the reason we got Allen/Edmunds/Phillips and was definitely a ballsy move by Beane at the time. We now have the number 1 D and a phenomenal secondary in such a short amount of time.
  18. And it's his contract year , his stock couldn't be any lower. Likely only gets a 1 year prove it deal for peanuts. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's out of the league in 3 years.
  19. Classy act from a young kid. This kid had a disasterous rookie year and then the incident in the summer , jokes coming from all directions. His career could have went left. But instead of quitting and folding , he comes back his sophomore campaign clearly improved in many areas of his game. Big salute to Zay for getting through the adversity and showing why we moved up for him .
  20. It's a valid question. It's just the offense has been that Bad... I think today proves though, that the D would be even better with a competent offense.. The great part is almost the whole D will be back , while also adding pieces , they can have long term, sustainable success that way
  21. First off, The Jets invested heavily in their secondary this off-season and added some big names to a unit with some young studs. Going into yesterday their passing defense was 10th in ints. 13th in yards and 13th in passing TD. Above average. Their defense on a whole was 15th in points and 13th in yards. Slightly above average. And they were HOME. So your cupcake comments are ridiculous. Did you watch Shady with an actual passing game? He looks like he might have gained a step! That spin was just amazing. Why so negative? There is 6 more games left . These guys are young , some need more time than others. Just pointing out these young guys played very well against an above average D, on the ROAD.
  22. Everybody and their mother knows the O will likely go through an overhaul this off-season, with nearly 90 mil to play with and a fantastic defense that doesn't need much , they can focus on OL , WR/TE and backup QB. Allen , Shady , Zay and Dawkins looked like the only locks to be starting next year. If Foster can be consistent , looks like we got our deep threat and at the very Least , a depth WR we can rely on for the future. He missed a cpl bombs by Allen earlier in the year, so the staff knew he had the potential. Looks like he's been working hard at his game and looked much improved today. Wonderful sign I noticed Zays improvement in September. He wasn't getting many touches, but I instantly noticed improved route running ability, awareness and his case of the yips seems to have passed. He has legit #2 WR written all over him and if he can continue to improve can be a real asset going forward . So it'd be great to have two young WR we feel confident in going forward and gives us more flexibility in FA and the draft. Great sign for both today , adding a glimmer of hope to what has been a disasterous group. Zays route running is really becoming a strength of his and has been impressive to watch all year. Then we got Teller , who I assume will start the rest of the year. He looked great to me today. The whole OL played fantastic as a whole but alot of the big runs looked like they came on his side , as he looked to be mauling defenders . I'm not going to proclaim anything after one start, but Teller looked super impressive and it'd be awesome if he continues to play at a high level, as that'd shore up the left side of the line for a couple years minimum and take a need off the board. He looks like he has very high potential , he's massive and agile and plays fierce, I think him and Dawkins will be on that left side for a long time. It was just refreshing and encouraging to see 2 rookies play at a very high level in their longest action of the year, on the road, against a pretty good defense. If these 3 can consistently play like this is (I personally think Zay has proven all year he could, just never got touches), it just gives us much more flexibility in a big time off season for the Bills.
  23. I usually go every year to see my Bills. They're usually civil for the most part and I'm also with Jet fans in my group when I go. Fans were talking friendly smack during the tailgate , ironic how much they talked about how awful our O was. They were a little rowdy pre game , cracking BBills jokes , i laugh em off and tell them we'll be contenders next year. By the 2nd quarter , they were more rowdy, but the talk was mostly aimed at their Jests and mainly Bowles and I was Loving the Boos, which started in the first qtr. By the time we left , many ppl were way gone and the ones who stayed we're drinking their pain away , cursing up a storm about the dysfunction with the coaching staff and front office. The knowledgeable Jet fans showed heavy respect for McBeane. They thought McD was the Real deal and almost seemed jealous about the last 2 drafts , conceding that we have way more young talent and potential than they do. Good times , I imagined today going wayyyy differently, turned out to be one of my favorite Bills/Jets game at MetLife Yeah u really missed out but I understand. I am surprised I went actually but it was wellllll worth it. One of my favorite experiences at MetLife. Probably cause my expectations were so low
