Speaking of which, given the amount of exculpatory evidence just furnished for use by his defense attorney, I’m surprised we haven’t heard anything from the plaintiff’s lawyer yet. He couldn’t keep his mouth shut previously. I look for him to drop the case against Araiza soon.

If I were him, I’d sign with the team that presents the best opportunity. Given our situation with Martin, that’s probably not in Buffalo. But stranger things have happened, that’s for sure.

That’s all well and good, but he’s a free agent at the moment, regardless.

He’s free to sign with any team as he has been since the Bills waived him. We don’t hold any exclusive rights so he’s not ours for the league to give back.

It was never up to him to prove his innocence; it was up to the accuser to prove his guilt.
  6. “It is time for you to go.”
  7. I keep Greg Mancz on the team just for that alone.
  8. And with his freakishly long arms for a man of his height (just a half inch shorter than Edmunds) he might be very good in pass coverage.
  9. Scouts and other talent evaluators place a high priority on production, perhaps the highest priority, especially when it matches the athleticism. Like you, I hadn’t had a chance to watch much video of Williams, but the little I’ve seen tells me why Beane and Co. liked him. He is not Terrell Bernard 2.0 by any stretch. He’s much more physical for starters and seems to have a more instinctive feel for the game. I won’t be surprised if he turns out to be one of the steals in this draft.
  10. But first it was Wang who got Wood because of Levitre.
  11. Quinnen Williams for me.
  12. I haven’t bothered to read all seven pages, only the two posts of yours that I’ve responded to. Your OP points out the lack success past 1st round TEs have had, which is fine. But then you seem to want to use that to somehow shade the selection of Kincaid, when it’s simply not relevant in the least. The Bills/Kincaid situation is unique, as were the situations of every other TE selected in the first round. I’ll leave you to continue the debate with others, but I have nothing more to say on this particular aspect discussion.
  13. Sorry, but I can’t agree with this at all. There is simply zero relevance, historical or otherwise. The entire context of each TE drafted and their individual team situations must be considered.
  14. And this is relevant how, exactly? Because one TE selected in the 1st round of one draft has absolutely NOTHING to do with any other TE selected in the first round of another draft. As if their relative success has nothing to do with the teams that selected them.
  15. It’s not much of a reach when a prospect is drafted right where he was projected to go. In this case, late 3rd/early 4th.
  16. Long snapper eligible. Works every time.
  17. Damned dominant defense destroyer.
  18. NFL GMs don’t like flakes, especially at the QB position.
  19. I think Beane meant to say teams will have to stay in nickel personnel.
  20. Chance Warmack. Several league guys told me he was a can’t miss blue chipper. Hyped him up like he was the next John Hannah, Joe D, or Larry Allen. Never been more wrong about a prospect coming out. Just didn’t have the fire.
  21. There’s an old saying that you bring your team to camp and if he’s not on a roster by then he will have to hope a team has injuries necessitating adding him to their roster during the season.
  22. What separated Beasley from other receivers was his ability to read coverage pre and post snap, especially zone schemes. Far more often than not he was able to find open areas for Josh to exploit. If I’m Shakir or any other receiver for that matter, I’m watching film of Beasley 24/7. I’d also bend the ear of Josh to better understand what the QB is seeing as well. Beasley was a former QB who learned the game from that perspective first and it’s no coincidence he was so good at recognizing coverages.
  23. Much appreciated. There’s a difference between knowing catholicism and knowing the history of catholicism.
