  1. He’s definitely gonna get a low grade for this game, but yeah, if not fired then perhaps a suspension.
  2. Could be. But this crew is gonna hear about it from the league after it’s weekly review.
  3. Perhaps, but Taylor’s been doing this a lot in his career whereas Brown hasn’t. All OTs cheat a little, but never this bad.
  4. Chiefs coaches better tell Taylor to wise up because he shows a tell on every play. Pass he’s way off the line, run he is up on the line.
  5. Seems that way, right? This is an embarrassment for the league on opening night in front of a world audience and I doubt Taylor will get away with it moving forward. But the Lions coaches should be all over it with the refs as well.
  6. Last series his head was BEHIND the center’s ass. Unreal.
  7. Did Collinsworth just say that Gibbs wears #26 like Barry Sanders did?
  8. The OT’s head has to line up with the hip of the center. Some lineman take liberties even with that.
  9. Has a team ever tried spying Mahomes?
  10. I’d be interested in the statistics for the top five garbages in the NFL. If I had to guess they would be: Plastic cups Paper cups Peanut shells Paper wrappers Popcorn containers
  11. Every starting QB that’s been in the league a few years is on a first name basis with the refs. It’s always been like that.
  12. As long as the refs call the game the same way for both teams, I have no problem with any crew.
  13. Yep. Bernard didn’t win the job so much as Dodson et al lost it. And he’s gonna be a prime target for the Jets run game coordinator to exploit like they did last year in NY. That said, the D is healthier than at any time last year and we will have Milano alongside him.
  14. We played in May last year? Who knew?
  15. I think the Steelers have a dominant D line as well, but I don’t put any stock in preseason games except to see if guys are winning their one on one battles and yeah, our guys got abused up front. But there was no game planning, which is critical when it comes to blocking schemes vs. various teams and personnel.
  16. IMO, the last time we faced a dominant Dline was against Miami in the wildcard game. True, Allen was sacked 7 times but he still managed 352 yards passing and three TD passes. And we only had two penalties for 13 yards in the game.
  17. Certainly won’t see one any better, that’s for sure. But our O is used to playing dominant front fours. The Oline won’t win every down, but they need to win most of them, especially Dawkins and Brown, who are critical to being able to double QW inside. A tall order to be sure, but a good scheme by Dorsey can mitigate a lot and I have confidence that Allen will continue to do what he always does when things break down.
  18. The more I watch replays from last year’s meetings with the Jets, the more I’m convinced it’s OK for Josh to use his legs as much as he sees fit.
  19. I agree. Other than a few guys like Sauce, Smart, and Cobb imo, not a likable bunch. Especially their coaches, who I think will wilt under the pressure if they don’t win early on and I get the impression they will throw players under the bus if they don’t perform. Not publicly, but in the meeting rooms as we saw when Saleh called out the OLine in an earlier episode. I think all the pressure is on the Jets. All of it.
  20. Even if Hackett can’t figure it out, I’m sure that Rodgers will.
  21. Sure was a nice opening night uniform last year against the Rams. That is a quote from a Quora thread on the subject, but I’m not sure how hard and fast that rule is as the league gives the home team the choice of what uniform to wear, so the visiting team must then wear a contrasting color. I assume the Jets chose to wear their white uni on Monday and the Bills chose their blue in contrast.
  22. Starting Bernard at MLB is a total indictment of Dodson, Klein, and whoever else we saw at the position all summer. That said and even though we didn’t see it this summer, Bernard is probably the better cover guy of anyone else at the position. Front four has to keep him clean on run downs because he can’t shed a block worth a damn.
  23. As far as making an impact goes, it’s gotta be two players: Dawkins and Brown. They have to control their matchups one on one so that the interior can double QW. I expect to see a fair amount of chips by TEs and RBs to help in that regard as well.
  24. So Dorsey is the Nathan Peterman of offensive coordinators?
