  1. This is really the simple reality of drafting. Unless you have the difference maker at the most important position in sports, it’s gonna be a struggle. There are HOFers who’ve never sniffed a ring because they languished on teams without a QB to get them there. Drafting JA is one thing, but I give Beane more credit for maneuvering from pick 22 to pick 7 in order to get him, especially because he didn’t give up any future first round picks to do so. That took some doing.
  2. Then I guess the question is, is our depth at OT better than our depth at backup QB?
  3. Per the bold, I think it’s a better blueprint for occupying the Jets’ back seven.
  4. Right. But what if Josh is only hurt for a game or two? Gotta have a guy you can bank on to hold the fort and I don’t think we have that guy at the momemt.
  5. I heard Einstein went broke buying all those cooking lessons for his wife.
  6. Klein is a liability, especially in pass defense.
  7. Finally a couple likable players in Cobb and Smart. Their coaches come across as posers though, although it was a nice touch by the RB coach to meet Izzy’s family after the game. Glad to hear he escaped a more serious injury, too.
  8. Not if I were the coach because they’d be too physically exhausted from all the gassers I’d make them run all week.
  9. I’m thinking that might be Jim Lorentz. He did color commentary on Sabres broadcasts for 27 years, most of which was spent with RJ.
  10. Travel well, Rick. And when ya get there, look on the top shelf where mama hides the cookies.
  11. The term “high maintenance” comes to mind.
  12. My dad was the Bills statistician that kept the rushing stats from their inception until he died in 1973. I can still hear him lamenting OJ’s “dancing on eggs” running style his first few years in the league and how OJ wasn’t gonna amount to much. Then 1972 happened and he started to change his tune. A shame my dad never got to see what came after that. No Bill, before or since, has ever created such a visceral reaction with the ball in his hands. You literally had the feeling he could take it to the house on every play.
  13. Beasley grew up learning the game from his coaching dad and even played as an option QB in high school in Texas. That understanding of the game has always allowed him to better identify pre and post snap reads and get to areas where defenders aren’t; a quarterback’s best friend on the field, not unlike Kelce who also understands the game on a high level as well.
  14. Has anyone ever told you that you bear a striking resemblance to Daffy Duck?

  16. That’s called doing an Orton.
  17. Liev Schreiber was the best part about it last night. It was also nice to see Sauce Gardner went back to finish his degree. Other than that, not much to enjoy.
