  1. Josh’s ball fakes are reaching the sublime level. And he continues to move safeties with his eyes. Just really fun to see this ascension.
  2. Titans need another day of zero positives tomorrow before they can open on Wednesday, so playing Sunday isn’t set in stone yet. The 3 games in a 10 day window scenario is interesting as it’s never happened before and I can see the league moving that Thursday night game to Saturday if the Chiefs and the NFLPA raise a stink about it.
  3. I was incorrect on that call. @Wroughting pointed out up thread that it was the broadcast crew that actually showed the incorrect down and distance on the TV and that the refs actually marked the ball properly. It was lazy analysis on my part for only focusing on what was shown on the screen and not actually noting where the ball was placed.
  4. The sheer amount of crap calls every game makes it impossible to remember them all. Glad I could help.
  5. Good stuff. Especially the comments about the refs. NFL refs continue to show why they are the worst of all pro sports officials week in and week out. Both sides got screwed by poor calls today. Sometimes, they don’t even know the rules, like on that holding call on Diggs that occurred nine yards beyond the line of scrimmage. That’s a spot foul, the yardage is marked off from the point of the foul, and it should have been 11 yards to go for a first down. Instead, they marked it off from the LOS and it was 20 yards to go. There is just no excuse for that. Not sure why our coaches didn’t raise a stink at the time, either.
  6. Cowboys played the Rams in their opener.
  7. Best part of Josh’s performance is that Aaron Schatz just has to keep on waiting for the wheels to fall off. He had the nerve to compare Allen’s start to Fitz’s start in 2011 and predicted that Allen will crash in the same fashion. It’s obvious Schatz didn’t watch Fitz in 2011 and has no clue what’s behind Josh’s stats this season.
  8. Allen has never not owned his bad plays. It’s part of why he’s a good QB.
  9. Right. Hitting his receivers in the hands is a bad sign.
  10. Hate to say it, but we aren’t going anywhere with this defense. In plain words, it’s clueless and it sucks.
  11. Hey John, do the rabid Raider fans in your family still give you crap when we play them?
  12. Imagine being one of people on the Bills staff whose task it was to break down EVERY snap he took in college and scrutinize it to the Nth degree? I imagine they saw plenty such throws. I imagine they were reminded when they saw Allen hit Beasley on that 3rd and 22 last Sunday. There are just a few people on the planet capable of doing that.
  13. Maybe if they threw in a lap dance or two.
  14. Yep. Allen had to roll away from his pressure.
  15. I’m not sure “fooled” is the word I’d use. I was just never “convinced” that either had what it took early on. Both had noticeable mechanical issues, particularly from the waist down, but I was less worried about that because they can be corrected. What we needed to see earlier on, like we saw with Allen in glimpses, was a grasp of the mental aspect of the game; an understanding of “why” a defense was playing a certain scheme. It was clear after he came back from injury in his rookie year that Allen was getting a grasp on that aspect of the game, whereas JP and EJ just never showed that aptitude. Also, JP getting purposely rocked by Troy Vincent in training camp and his TOTAL lack of preparedness to enter his first game when called upon raised some serious flags for me about his leadership abilities.
  16. Jest need to fire Greggo manboobs before they fire Gase. All those cheap penalties are not a coincidence.
  17. Greggo might wanna think of getting that punter inserted into his defense. He can actually evade a blocker and make a tackle.
  18. This. It’s important for people to separate “draft experts” and the actual pro scouts and GMs, who had Allen pegged as a 1st round pick BEFORE his final college season. He displayed the great arm, running ability, athleticism, and “dog” determination on the field that we’ve all seen since his rookie year when he was in school and, more importantly, blew everyone away in interviews.
  19. Wow, what a stark image that is. Wrong route or wrong throw?
  20. It’s not a big deal, but it’s a definite advantage. Regardless of the fact that the players can’t meet and practice, the coaching staff and their assistants will be pouring over the film and given extra time to craft a game plan. That extra time is valuable.
  21. Pro scouts and GMs had Allen pegged as a first round pick; pretty much after his sophomore year at Wyoming. The arm talent and athleticism were readily apparent to everyone. You are spot on about the know it alls here and in the twitterverse , though. They just couldn’t see past his completion percentage and the occasional wild throws.
  22. Starter or not, I like the idea of 12 personnel with Motor, Kroft, and Knox on the field with Diggs and Brown. Hope we see more of it.
