  1. He be pissin’ and be moanin’.
  2. One of my first football idols. One of the best to ever lace ‘em up. RIP, Kansas Comet.
  3. ...because when 15 of the 45 total points against to date were given up after both games were won and had ZERO impact on the outcomes, it really doesn’t matter. There might be other stats that actually support your theory that the defense doesn’t inspire confidence, but at the moment, points against just doesn’t.
  4. Context is important.
  5. Oh, this is nice to hear. It’s gonna be a great matchup, potentially epic.
  6. I fully understand the “value” in terms of draft charts, etc. My point is, until it translates to actual players and we see who those players become in the NFL, it’s an abstract concept. In terms of the current tangible reality, Minny has a long way to go to match the value Diggs is currently providing to the Bills.
  7. Regarding that good value, let’s take a look: they got Justin Jefferson, a promising prospect who is nowhere near Diggs presently and it will take a couple years. I hope he gets a better QB than Cousins sooner than later, but that contract hurts right now. The Vikings traded the 2020 5th from Buffalo to the Bears for a 2021 4th, and the 2020 6th from Buffalo to Baltimore for a 2021 5th and a 2020 7th who became DE Kevin Willikes, who is on IR and gone for the rest of this season. So, it was Diggs for Jefferson, Willikes, two 2021 4ths, and a 2021 5th. It’s gonna be a while before we see any kind of value pan out. I’m confident we will have gotten the best player in this deal not just currently but also when it’s all said and done.
  8. The game has been steadily slowing down for him since he returned from his elbow injury in his rookie year. While his critics have been harping on his inaccuracy and turnovers, they’ve been missing this aspect of his development. Some people just don’t understand how green he was coming out. I’ve always been a proponent of the “thousand attempts” school of development and Josh is ahead of schedule, imo.
  9. Pretty sure it’s a van...down by the river!
  10. You must have posted this info when I was doing my edit. Like I said, that matchup doesn’t tell us much.
  11. Should be a good matchup on Sunday because Diggs can match him trash talk for trash talk on the field. Diggs is one of the most self-confident, competitive players I’ve seen and I don’t know if Ramsey is used to that kind of opponent. Have they faced each other in the past? EDIT: In ‘16, the Jags played the Vikings and Diggs had 3 for 55 yards while Ramsey had one tackle and an assist in a game the Vikings won. Doesn’t say much and that’s the only game I can find where their teams faced each other.
  12. Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out.
  13. “WNnnnnnnnnnBC” Yep. Donald is a FORCE on the DL and he’s gonna have to be accounted for on every play. Every. Play. I’m glad we have a mobile QB and an OC who knows how to design rolling pockets.
  14. His numbers indicate otherwise.
  15. Dude is one of a kind. He broke the mold.
  16. That’s all fair.
  17. It’s not surprising. Investing in negative outcomes is always the easy play. Gutless, but easy. As for me, I predicted back in Allen’s rookie year that Allen would not only become our franchise QB, but that he will be a first ballot HOFer five years after he hangs them up. I’m sticking to it, knowing full well that he’s still a work in progress who’s still closer to the total greenhorn he was coming in. Stick it, PFF.
  18. So true. I guarantee the haters will be shouting a helluva lot louder than anyone currently shouting about his improvement currently. Anyone who’s watched sports seriously for any length of time knows that all players at all positions in all sports have off days and clunkers. The key has always been how they respond to those bad moments.
  19. I didn’t read the entire thread over there so I’ll take your word for it, but the few I did read showed a lack of knowledge of our team and a lack of respect. Things like Ramsey will just take out Diggs so our pass game will be stopped, for example. I don’t expect anyone to pencil us in for the SB, either, btw, in order to illustrate respect.
  20. The lack of respect informed by lack of familiarity is not surprising.
  21. That’s an interesting angle. The Bennett trade changed the balance of power in the AFCE. It’s not far fetched, at least so far, to suggest the trade for Diggs might do the same.
  22. Watching that was a treat. The stutter step that Diggs made before breaking on his go route was a thing of beauty. Instant separation as he accelerated down field. He gives opposing CBs so much to think about as he uses previous routes to set up future routes during a game.
  23. This is a good point, imo. Stats are a result of what the is being evaluated on the film. Sometimes I get the impression that the PFFs of the world think it’s the other way around. I’m not dismissing analytics, far from it, and I’m not suggesting that football is so complicated that it’s impossible to know what you’re watching on a play by play basis. But unless you have the full context of every play, it’s an incomplete analysis, and only those on the inside that are privy to ALL the information have the proper context.
