No, I’m agreeing with your point that it takes a helluva lot more than stickers and slogans by saying that even passing laws that make the practice illegal hasn’t been enough. I’m saying that just because the civil rights movement resulted in actual legislative actions and protections, people still held racism in their hearts. Nothing matters until hearts and minds are truly changed.

Yep. And when laws were passed to protect black people from discrimination in voting, lending, education, employment, etc., and to provide equal access to public services and facilities, etc., all the racist hearts and minds of people were magically changed forever.

Our back seven on D is gonna be the difference in the game.

We’ve covered that. This offense has never been a juggernaut to begin with and, whether you give it any credence or not, they haven’t had the benefit of live action and other essential development opportunities this offseason. So, given those factors, it’s “realistic” to expect hiccups in the first game of the season. You see that as “excuses”, I see it as simply being “realistic” about the situation.

Do you know the difference between negativity and being realistic? C’mon, Scott. Your negativity has been readily apparent in these parts for several years now. It precedes every post you make. If the Bills don’t win in a certain way, you will pan their performance. It’s like clockwork. And as someone suggested above, even if we blow them out while racking up outrageous stats, you will come back with, “It’s just the Jets.”

There is just no satisfying your negativity. We could play the perfect game offensively, but if it’s not to your statistical liking, you will wallow in that. Enjoy your misery.

Draft is set for 10/6 and 10/7 and will be held virtually. Season is scheduled to start on 12/1. But we all know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men.

My daughter was born a day after your son on 9/14, 2001. Your words captured the spirit of new parents everywhere at that time. While my wife was recovering from her C section, I had the privilege of holding our girl for the first several hours of her life and I can remember looking at her and muttering similar words to her in that darkened hospital room at 3am on that morning. I wish I could sincerely say that we’ve given our children a kinder, gentler, safer world since then. But I can’t. So we will keep striving to be the change we wanna see.

There are no “excuses” so you can get off that train. If you think that an unprecedented off season of extremely limited preparation and no live action to speak of prepares a team to hit on all cylinders from the opening kickoff, good for you. Those of us who have been around the game know how important a full off season of preparation can be, from OTAs to a full slate of preseason games. Especially when it comes to hitting. But who knows, maybe they’ll surprise me. I’m just not expecting it since this offense was a work in progress as it is.

I count two of 11 guys on offense who have been in this offense for three years. Two; QB and LT. Four of five OL and all the rest of the skill players have no more than one year in the system.

This offense has been together for three years now? Must be that new math I’ve heard so much about.

The late, great Phil Ranallo would be so proud of some of these predictions. So, in that spirit: Bills 63 Jets 2* *Allen takes an intentional safety as he runs up the tunnel as time expires on the last play of the game. Seriously? I see a sloppy game by both teams with numerous procedure penalties. Bill will win because our D is so cohesive in the back seven.
