Dick Jauron was extended three years after the hot start in ‘08.

The commentators were saying this is Columbus’s 4th game in 6 nights and three of those went into overtime. Gotta be some exhausted players and they were looking like it for much of that 4th OT. That Gourde/Kucherov line had chances on their last half dozen shifts. Seth Jones with 61 minutes of ice time. 61 minutes. I still look for Bogo to cost TB the game, though. Somehow, someway he is bound to screw it up.

Ok All You Flat Earth Idiots: Refute This, I Dare Ya!

Yeah, the intellectual dishonesty is off the shelf with those people. If you haven’t already, check out the three videos linked by @Warcodered on page two of the thread. It’s on full display in the latter two videos. -

Do flat earthers accept that the moon’s shadows are cast by the earth? If so, how do they explain a flat edge casting a curved shadow? If not, what do they think casts shadows on the moon? -
The NHL is beyond absurd. What other sports league would give 24 teams, 77% of the league, a chance to win the championship or be awarded the first overall pick in the draft upon entering the same post-season tournament?

Sagan often said publicly how skeptical he was of such claims and I’m sure he’d continue to do so today. For instance, here’s an article about an interview he did in 1996, a year before he died. As a scientist, he carried this skepticism throughout his career. https://www.wired.com/story/sagan-old-interview/ -

1. The accuracy of Eratosthenes’s observations have been borne out countless times in countless ways since he first made his calculations. The lack of instant communication in 240 bc had no bearing at all on his applied mathematics. 2. Again, what Sagan “says” in the video is not what matters; it’s what he demonstrates with his elementary school experiment that validates Eratosthenes‘s original experiment and proves, once again, that the earth is round. Not that any sane people need further evidence and convincing. What Sagan “believed” in regarding the existence of alien life is irrelevant. He was a student of the scientific method and I suspect he would agree with what the math indicates. -

The last video with “McFlatty” was pure gold! My favorite part was when he said he still needs to see ‘The Truman Snow’ but he can’t find it at a Redbox anywhere. Agree that the poor schmuck who paid 20k for that gyroscope got hosed, but what about the guy that Eratosthenes got to walk 800 kilometers for his experiment? -

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. You got that right and I thank you for pointing that out. I’ll wait to see an actual refutation of the experiment before I further engage with any flat earther. It just gets so tiring repeating the same joke. -

Oh no, they’re out there. I don’t know if stupid is the right word though. I think it’s more willful ignorance. Which is far worse, imo. -

If you watched the video then you’d know the irrefutable proof had nothing to do with what Sagan told me, but everything to do with the experiment he demonstrated. An experiment that elementary school children have been doing for generations. If that escapes you, then perhaps trying to actually refute the experiment is not in your wheel house. -
Hadn’t seen this since I was a kid watching this episode of Cosmos with Carl Sagan. Every flat earther needs to see this.

I don’t think it takes its place; it’s “in addition to” whatever preseason injuries occur as well.
